The place is cute. A lot of history in the little shop. They even have photo albums on the counter that you can look through. When we stopped in, it was for some shakes. The reason for the 3 stars is for the service. The young woman at the counter when we were ordering looked and acted like she could not be bothered. She had one earbud in, so who knows what she was actually listening to. When we finally ordered, she wasn't even paying attention the whole time, so we had to repeat ourselves.

Wow... I am really surprised this place has a three star rating. It was exactly what I hoping it was. An old diner/soda shop for the 1950s and it delivered! It is super cute inside and they still have the eat at counter, which is a rare find these days. The waitress was tentative and made great suggestions for our meal. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich and it was great! I could have used a bit more Buffalo sauce but I didn't ask. The sandwich was nice and toasted on a hoagie bun. The wife had a Ruben and it was delicious per her opinion as I don't get down with Ruben's. The fries were okay, we had the curly and cottage variety. Next time we will go with our daughter and get a milkshake! I am sure she will love it and we are excited to go back for another round.

I came on a week night and it was pretty much empty. My buffalo chicken hoagie was yummy!!! Probably one of the only items I really enjoyed there. I will say the food is slightly overpriced (in my opinion) for what it is and its size. Also they were out of a lot of their sides (salt and vinegar chips, tater tots, etc.) which was disappointing, so I ended up settling on their regular fries (the round shaped things). Honestly, they were really bland and unseasoned. I decided to try a chocolate milkshake because I thought that it would be one of their "specialities" considering it's an old-timey diner type place. However, it was nothing special and just tasted like your regular blended chocolate ice cream. I packed the round fries to go and revamped them at home in the airfryer with lots of much needed seasonings. They turned into crispy potato chips and tasted much better than their original state. I recommend this! My friend got a burger, sweet potato fries, and a float as well. Overall pretty average / not great food place, but the look of the restaurants is cute. Servers were attentive too!

The fam and I came here strictly for dessert and were not disappointed! Street parking as well as a public parking lot behind the building are available. The soda shop is small, and is exactly what you would expect a soda shop to look like. There's booth, table, and bar seating. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. We decided to sit at the bar. The menu offers traditional soda shop items such as soups, salads, wraps, hamburgers, hoagies, hot dogs, sandwiches, old fashion milkshakes, floats, sundaes, and drinks. We ordered the following: Southern Comfort $5.99 Root Beer Float $3.75 The Southern Comfort is composed of layers of warm chocolate chip cookie, vanilla ice cream, walnuts, whipped cream, caramel syrup, and a cherry on top. Generous portion. I shared it with my husband and son, and we still couldn't finish it. The cookie was just warm enough to melt a little bit of the ice cream. It more than satisfied our sweet tooths. I didn't try my husband's root beer float, but he enjoyed it and finished it. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had a good experience.

Long way from my normal stomping ground. Found myself there while visiting my cousins this past weekend. Davidson campus is so nice. Nice day out, taking pictures and enjoying the nice weather can stir up an appetite. We made our way to the soda shop. It's nice, quaint little place. Very busy. The workers were hustling. The table got the chicken marinara hoagie (mine), buffalo chicken hoagie, and the chipotle hotdog, cherry coke, cherry coke float (mine), original soda (tasted). Man, the marinara hoagie was delicious. It didn't look like a whole lot of food but they pack the sandwiches with meat. Not a light serving which is great. The float was also pretty good. They don't hold back on the coke syrup at all over there. Watery your soda will not be. In addition, each of the plates came with their original (?) chip fries. It's a nice twist in French fries and really good. The service was alright. They were packed and busy, but they did their best and we didn't wait a whole lot. Overall a nice experience. Seating is a bit limited for the amount of traffic they seem to get. So, keep that in mind. All in all, definitely recommend swinging by if you are in the area. Prices are really fair. If it wasn't a 4h drive from where i live, that place would catch me often.

The Soda Shop has become my boyfriend and I's favorite weekend breakfast spot. We love the 50s vibes of the restaurant. The food- YUM!!! I can't tell you how long I've been looking for a restaurant that serves corned beef hash!! And it's so good too. Get the Soda Shop breakfast-- you get 4 choices for $8.19! What a deal. We will always come back.

The burger was great, I have no complaints at all, and the fries were fresh and flavorful. The wings were jumbo and juicy. I don't think I'll order the barbalo sauce next time, but other than that the wings were amazing. They come with fresh celery and carrots and blue cheese/ranch. Overall I was impressed. And the guacamole was fresh, chunky, and tasted great. The chips were good too, honestly no complaints and would order again. Overall I was surprised how good the food is here being a pickleball facility. The restaurant area is honestly much nicer than most restaurants in the Lake Norman area and I wouldn't think twice about taking someone here for lunch. Everything feels well run, thought out, and I'm glad to see it looks like they're growing fast. I showed up on a Tuesday afternoon and the parking lot was full to the brim - I honestly thought they must be sharing parking with someone else but no, it was just as full of people on the inside.

My server was amazing as we (Im)patiently waited for him. I ordered the roasted beet tower to start. Finely diced marinated beets with a thin slice of goat cheese topped with mixed greens and a vinaigrette. This dish tasted so fresh! My husband's only complaint was chasing the tiny beets around the plate (first world problems) I chose to have a cup of their creamy chicken soup. No rice, no potato filler - cream based, fresh chicken mushrooms and carrots danced around my mouth. Topped with Gruyère (I think) each bite was like a rich warm hug from grandma Our entrees arrived in a timely manner - him having the ahi tuna poke bowl. He chose to substitute the rice for mixed greens. He devoured the entree and noted the tuna being sweet for the longer sear - his fault, he forgot to ask for it to be cooked extremely rare or done raw, poke style as it was to be a poke bowl which is typically served raw. I chose the harvest bowl. A base of rice and quinoa topped with Brussel sprouts, beets, greens, goat cheese, and butternut squash. I chose to add grilled shrimp. Holy cow. I felt like all of the vegetables were home grown from the chef's garden. Perfectly roasted and seasoned. An impressive rice/quinoa topped vegetable ratio exceeded all expectations!!!

It's perfect for gathering with a group as they give you a number tent and the server/food runner brings you the food as soon as it is prepared. In my opinion, this prevents food from sitting in the windows and getting cold cause "it's not my table." The concept of gathering your own utensils (not plastic) is spot on as it allows those who only want to drink and sit and socialize not feel pressured to order a full sit down meal, thus washing cutlery that's never been used. For this most recent visit, I took advantage of their snow-weather special: $30 for 1 dozen raw oysters as well as their lobster Mac and cheese. Coming out hot and bubbly with a cheese crust, I had to wait for the Mac and cheese to cool off to eat. I sat at the raw bar and watched Chef Erick personally shuck my oysters.
