Initially they did calculations wrong and overcharged us so we asked the guy when we went to pick it up he was so apologetic and offered a $2 credit. He also adjusted all the Calculations and said the lady was new. They packed my laundry like it was going to be shipped overseas. It was so tightly packed and beautiful and smelled AMAZING! They even used softener. I highly recommend dropping your laundry here. Everything was perfect. Everything came out to a little under $50 but it was A LOT OF STUFF!

Inability to do a good job on the first clean, e.g., I bring a shirt, point out the stains, and come back to see the stains still there. I then point out the stain again, and they take note of it and clean it again. After the second clean, the stain is gone. Why not take note of the stain the first time? 2. They're incompetent tailors. They take shortcuts and do not take ownership of their work. I have taken a pair of pants to get a basic hem (not origin hem) and they came back with poor stitching. I even provided a sample that had been worn for six months, albeit by Alteration Specialists, and its stitching looks better. The adage, you get what your pay for is true. Want poor quality go to Brothers! 3. They are flat-out rude and dismissive. For instance, they demand payment and don't respond to "thank yous" or basic questions in regards to garment care. If Fort Greene wasn't a dry cleaning desert I'd go elsewhere. Come to think about it, I'll do a dry cleaner test and report back on the best one in the neighborhood. If you're OK with poor service and quality, then Brothers Cleaners should be your go-to.

They will be late on the pick up (by 1 day) and even later (an entire 2 days late) on delivery. The whole time the contact person kept delaying the eta. 3. Impolite and careless pickup and delivery workers. Our laundry bag was left in front of the house because they kept delaying the eta. They squeezed all of our clothes and linens into one bag instead of separating into two which caused a huge rip at the top of the laundry bag. 4. They will apologize profusely with no valid explanation or solution. They will offer a discount for the next time when they know you won't ever use their service again. 5. They will overcharge you for the service a week later, not providing any sort of receipt or itemized breakdown of costs.

Saturday, May 16th, I brought in a…read moreBurberry trench coat to have the sleeves shortened slightly to address some minor fraying from normal wear. Just have the sleeves shortened so that the fraying no longer showed or would get worse. I paid $25 for the work, pretty reasonable. The tailoring work itself was done well, the sleeve was shortened and finished cleanly, so I want to be fair about that. My issue is with how the coat was handled and returned to me. When I picked it up, the coat was tightly stuffed into a thin plastic bag which was tied up, as shown in the attached photos. I was literally shocked when the woman handed it to me. She was not the alteration lady so I didn't want to subject her to my anger, but I did say "it couldn't be put on a hanger at least"? She was apologetic and offered to get a hanger but I live only a few blocks away so I didn't see the point. Plus I wanted to take pictures. As a result, the coat was heavily wrinkled from being compressed into the bag (see photos) for two days (my given pick up date was Saturday, May 23rd and I picked it up today Tuesday evening), and honestly it was disappointing to see a garment I cherish being treated in such a careless manner by people I PAID to take care of it. I attached pictures of how the coat was presented to me and how it looked when I took it out of the bag. While I value my clothing A LOT, I am very easy going. I didn't expect luxury presentation or even steaming or pressing. I actually steam my coats every time I wear them. But I also didn't expect to have it returned to me shoved into a plastic bag like a dish rag. Every other place I have had alterations done, they won't press or steam the item unless asked to (I totally understand that) but at the least they put it on a hanger, even if it's a wire one. Especially a suit jacket or coat. This shouldn't happen to a $20 thrift store coat, let alone a coat worth over $1,000 dollars. It's a tailored garment - now the labels are out of shape and it's unwearable without considerable steaming and pressing. You want a clean and quiet place to wash your clothes YOURSELF? By all means go here. If you need to entrust your clothes to staff to have them cleaned or altered, hard pass if my experience is anything to go by.

Genuinely can't do this anymore with this company. I've been using them for years because they're so close to my apartment and I try to support local businesses... but they just don't seem committed to improving their services. First off, with their pickup/drop off services... there was about a year where they would send Ubers to pick up my laundry. Unfortunately, sometimes these Ubers would show up on bikes... which made it very difficult to carry two bags. Sometimes they'd flat out say no, which sucks because I pay for the Uber while making the order. This means I'd have to spend 15 minutes on the phone with the Soap Box operator trying to get a driver back. And now finally to the clothes. There were so many times my clothes would come back smelly, bleached, with ink blotches, with hair, or with other people's clothes mixed in. I'd get so tired of calling to complain, that eventually I just stopped. There was a July 4th where on the website, they were offering July 3rd pick up, and July 5th dropoff. So on July 5th end of day, I call TSB to find out why my clothes didn't get delivered, and the man that picked up said "Why would you think we'd be working on the 4th?" with an attitude. He literally began to argue with me... even though on the WEBSITE IT OFFERED THE OPTION. He was incredibly rude and nasty. There used to be 2 ladies there were so nice and professional. The men there that pick up the phones SHOULD NOT BE WORKING CUSTOMER SERVICE. I'm sitting here with a batch of ruined clothes finally giving up on this company after years of loyalty. The woman who runs it and I were on good terms, I've been several times for fixes and stains and she has always delivered great service. But this time when I picked up one of the shirts I had brought to her for the removal of a very small stain, the process they had used to remove the stain had discolored a bunch of the lettering on the shirt. Only because the shirt was one of my few expensive ones (and a personal favorite) I brought it to her and showed her the mark. She said it was because the stain had oxidized in the cleaning/stain removal process and that the discoloration was permanent. I said I understood, but that I wanted to be paid back the value of the shirt, something I only asked for because of its worth to me personally and monetarily. She refused saying that she "didn't do it," the stain's oxidization did. I told her that it was her process that had caused the stain to oxidize and if I had known this would happen I would never have brought the shirt to her. She still said it wasn't her fault or took any responsibility and began getting heated and raising her voice at me. I exasperatedly refuted her, telling her that the shirt was now irreparably damaged and that as a loyal customer I couldn't believe she was treating me this way. I exclaimed at one point "ma'am I thought we were cool; I thought we had a good relationship!" She continued screaming at me and still categorically refused to help, saying that the only compensation she would offer for permanently discoloring the shirt is the 12.50 for the specialized cleaning. I told her I didn't want that and that I was hurt that she was willing to treat me or any customer like this, so I left. I worked as a CSR at a dry cleaners for a while, and I never saw anyone not receive compensation for a damage or discolored article. She is normally a great dry cleaner and I've loved working with her in the past, but for her to do me this way made me take the clothes I had also brought to drop off and tell her I could not use her again.
