I don't go to many bars/pubs in general, but my friends and I came here a few days ago for a birthday. I liked the place immediately because at around 9pm on a Thursday it wasn't too busy. I liked the booths/high tables and bar seating and the bartender was nice, the drinks reasonable; it seemed like a nice, mellow, local bar. And then we started celebrating... A few of us are lightweights, and unfortunately, in the midst of the celebration, we got SMASHED. I ordered two drinks and a shot, but apparently picking up drinks for toasts I probably ended up having four or five drinks. All decorum was lost, as were several dinners. The bartenders were VERY NICE to us considering and I have the utmost respect for them. I don't think we can go back for quite a long time, but I'd highly recommend The Snug sans tequila. Just FYI: If you're going to make the mistake of drinking too much (and we've all been there!), park on the side streets instead of on Magnolia so you won't have to rush back to your car in the morning when you taxi or carpool home. read more

ALL WELL DRINKS, WINE, AND BEER ARE $3 DURING HAPPY HOUR. HAPPY HOR ENDS AT 7PM. Despite that, this place sucks. 1. It is very crowded 2. The people who worked there did not even know if there was meat in the pasta sauce they were serving. "Probably." was the answer I received from a person with an attitude. 3. I only went there for NBA and called ahead of time to make sure some sound would be on...Well that did not happen. No subtitles either. 4. I handed the bartender my card and instead of bringing the merchant's receipt to me, she kept interrupting the game. "What, you want to close out?" I had to go to her to hear what she was saying(so loud in there) but yeah, I already told her I wanted to close out. Then I go to the only TV with NBA on since she was taking so long and then she motions for me again to sign the merchant's receipt. She is quick to get up and talk to the....is he a bouncer? but does not hand people their receipts or drink? Outside of happy hour, the drink prices are about the same as anywhere else. This place is dead. Each time I have been here, there have never been more than 15 people inside. On a Friday night! Sure, the drinks are a little cheaper, but I'd rather pay the extra buck for a crowd to mingle with. Also how come every so-called "pub" has to automatically be Irish? There's nothing Irish about this place. I've been to some great, authentic pubs in my life and Snug is just another room with a bar. No wonder Burbank is a ghost town after 10pm. read more

We rolled in here about 1am last night for some more drinks a little closer to home than the bar we were at downtown. Parking is easy and we walked right into the door to a small, dimly lit divey bar with maybe 4 or 5 other people occupying the various seats and booths. As someone mentioned before though, this place is not meant for big crowds so it was nice. The bartender was super friendly despite us coming in an hour before he closed up for the night. They've got some classic board games, a Batman pinball machine, and a fun jukebox to amuse yourself with. The jukebox is kinda pricey for playing songs, but I'm not really familiar with jukebox prices. It also has a Photo Booth setting on it that allows you to take 4 pictures, create a background, put a filter on it, and either email it or post it on Facebook. I was the DD last night, so I can't speak for the drinks myself but my friend said her's was very deliciously strong. I would definitely come back again when I'm in the area; it seems like a good place to chill with a drink. read more

Another classic watering hole for the Magnolia Park and surrounding hoods residents. The Bartenders are always nice, willing to make any drink you can think up, and most importantly have fun while getting their jobs done. Erin in particular is my favorite bartender, she can mix a fantastic beverage. The vibe is casual and laid back. If you go repeatedly you will see some familiar faces, as i mentioned earlier this is a locals bar. On the weekends and St patty's day you will find a vast array of people trying to cram themselves into the tiny bar. It is not unlikely that you will see a line of people trying to get in on Friday and Saturday nights as well, even well after midnight. The bar is small and seats go fast, so if you want to play the crazy arcade games that they have you better get there early. Pacman and galaga, in additon to a great juke box and a mega game machine, provide for casual entertainment and possibly a little bit of friendly rivalry. read more

What's not to like? Great spot with Guinness on tap...a must for me. We knocked back some Jameson's too and it was all good. They also have a very unique approach to having their own international kitchen - they keep a big binder filled to the gills with take-out menus. Order away and have it delivered to your barstool. I went here on 7/20/2011 because we came to Burbank for a taping of Conan, didn't get in (Just barely - Thanks Justin Timberlake for being popular) and had to drink away our sorrows. The locals and bartenders in this place were very friendly. The first bartender, a lady in her 40's or 50's, was very happy to help us with a large binder they had with many types of carryout/delivery restaurants in the area. It was even organized by the type of food they sold. We ordered some Philly cheesesteaks from a place down the street and they were great. (There is no bar kitchen). They have around 10 beers on tap, I believe. One of them was Chimay so that's always a win in my book. The place was pretty dead when we got there but got busier after 9. There isn't a whole lot of room so I can't imagine it's a comfortable place on Friday and Saturday nights. Either way, my friends and I were impressed with their overall hospitality. read more

small little Irish bar. The waitress/bartender is amazing- she is always friendly and nice and actually takes everyones orders- no shrug off here. We usually go Wednesday nights for trivia because in all honeslty there isin't much else to do at this bar [which is my reason for the 3 stars] if you just want a place to grab a drink with a friend this is a good bar to go to- never toooooo crowded but usually always has at least a few tables full. I personally like a bar with some darts or a pool table or something going on.....but for just a watering hole thisplace is a-ok. oh and they usually have some pretty sweet drink deals going on. =] read more

Cheap drinks, chill vibe, cool digital jukebox (not very sensitive to touch...or maybe I'm not touching it right?). Came here with a friend on a weekday at around 8pm. There were a few regulars hanging out at the booths but the place wasn't busy. The bartender/waitress was adorable and very attentive. I went hoping for an irish pub experience, what I got was a lot of loudmouths yelling about a celtics game... among other things, constantly for about 2 hours. A local pub is totally given by it's clientele. If the people who go there are jerks, it doesn't matter how good the service or drinks might be. (To be clear, the drinks were $5 beers that took forever to pour). The loudmouths at the bar really ruined our experience, even in a booth, far from the bar we couldn't hear regular spoken conversation. I'd say if you're in burbank and looking for a pub to hang out in, skip the Snug. read more

Came here early around 9 pm on a Saturday night. It's a small, but clean dive with a very friendly staff. The bouncer even reminded me to make sure to renew my license since it expires in a couple of months. How sweet is that? We sat at the bar and were promptly assisted. The bartenders are great. Super friendly and knowledgeable about the products they serve. They even gave us a bowl of pretzels to accompany our pints of Racer 5 (which I tried at their recommendation) and the $4 shots of Fireball (also tecommended). To top that off, they were great at making sure we were taken care of and our water was always filled (if you ever venture into Hollywood, you know what a pain in the rear it is to get a free glass of water). The bathrooms were clean. No jerks or hipsters to be found. AND they have board games and Ms. Pacman. Win. Win. Great unassuming place to grab a beer and just hang with your friends. read more

Great drinks! Never have to deal with creepy guys, and that's the best. Bar staff is friendly, and they have free pretzels!!!! Went there with a friend....this isnt my local....but I'm the kinda guy that can go to the pub and make friends regardless. Good looking women at the pub...and cool dudes. Everyone was chill. A few couples on dates...a few people in groups. Lots of mingling and talking. I ordered a beer...tasted really bad. Drank it anyway. Conversation was good...so I didn't care. Ordered a Guinness...it was half head half beer and it tasted pretty nasty. I took it back to the bartender and he was totally cool with it...told him to get me a Lite Beer...no questions asked. Cool guy! Sometimes you just want a bartender to not give you any hassles and this was the guy. Grabbed my bottle and went back to drinking. Proabably my favorite place to grab some drinks in LA. The atmosphere is relaxed and the beer selection is great. What really makes the place great is the crowd and the bartenders. It seems like some bars get a bad rap because of the atmosphere the night a reviewer happened to show up. With The Snug, I'd say it's irrelevant. When it comes to dive bars, The Snug is just about as good as it gets. Patrons tend to skew toward the local crowd, although new faces occasionally show up. Burbank is kind of an incestuous little bubble, so it seems like everyone in their 20's or 30's went to high school with one another. The bartenders are really cool people. They're super friendly, sociable (you're not just a warm body waving a dollar bill), and they make excellent drinks. And it's not super expensive either. Beers range from $3-5, and mixed drinks are only a little more. So you don't have to empty out your checking account for a fun night. I discovered the Snug a few weeks ago and have been coming back ever since! It's got such a great atmosphere! It's like stepping back into Ireland for a drink! They even have a countdown up next to the bar for St. Patrick's Day! On top of that, they have cheap beer ($3 deals) and also on certain days they have a 2 for 1 offer on ANY beverage! The staff is entertaining and attentive, I've never had to wait to be served! Also, there's always street parking either in front of The Snug or across the street, which is a rare thing to come by in LA. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxed pub style bar with great beer, great company, and great service. read more

We found this place on Yelp when we were looking for a place to grab a drink before The Conan O'brien taping. We had about an hour to kill and this place was fairly close to the Warner Bros lot. We arrived a little bit after they had opened and we're greeted by an older, female bartender who was still tending to some bookkeeping duties. The interior had the vibe of a dive bar but a newer looking dive bar. The bartender was very friendly and talked to us about how a lot of their customers are people who are attending Conan tapings. They had a wide selection of well beers and craft beers (Stone, Firestone, Goose Island etc.) and you get a bowl of pretzels with your beer! They also have a decent amount of board games stacked in a corner(with a sign that reads "please play our games") that you can play while you drink. The clientele at that time were elderly men that seemed to be regulars. Nice older gentleman. You should check this place out if you have time to kill before a Conan taping or if you're ever around the Warner Bros studio lot area. Definitely checking this place out again. read more

Went there last night, a Wed night around 10 pm. The bar was kinda dead, not empty, but less than 1/3 full. First bummer. BUT! they had some board games, including a deck of cards, in the corner, and the bartender poured me a fantastic amaretto sour. Also! A Marvel vs Capcom 2 machine in the corner - only my favorite arcade game of all time - but sadly no challengers. This bar would be a little more awesome if it could figure out how to get food trucks outside because it doesn't serve food and when the 11 pm munchies strike, Taco Bell just won't cut it. read more

What's not great about the Snug? I love this place, the crowd that shows up, the staff and last but not least, the drinks. Very heavy-handed drinks for great prices! The jukebox is one of those new-fangled ones that use those "internets" with an unlimited selection. Was here for happy hour on a weekday. Nice small place and most of the people there seems to be local. Beer price are reasonable. They don't serve food there, but they have menus from restaurant in the neighborhood that you can order from and they will deliver to. 3 sets of LCD TV airing different sports. (2 baseball and a soccer game while I was there). I spend a few hours there with friends and we just chat. Nice place to chill. Plenty of parking on the street. read more

OK, so i've been to a quite a few bars in my life time and i've never felt like I had a bar to call my own until now. The snug is my roomie's and I good old stand by bar. Every time we go here we have a great time without fail. We end up meeting a lot of cool people and staying till last call. Mara is by far the best bartender i've ever met. She makes us feel at home. She treats us like she wants us there and thats really hard to find in LA. Especially when you're a girl and you come across a girl bartender. You usually get a glare followed by a pretentious attitude. Mara never has given us anything but a warm genuine hug and amazing drinks. She is one of the main reasons we frequent this place. The bartenders do set the overall tone, and mara never fails to impress. The music's always great. You can even pick your own with the juke box if you like. They also give you some sort of snack food to satisfy your stomach in between those delish beers/cocktails/shots. read more

I've passed by this place so many times I finally decided to go with a buddy who was in town for a spell. It's really nice, quaint, and has a pretty diverse jukebox. Everyone is really friendly with each other and we were able to strike up a conversation with a few different guys over the course of the night. Drinks are decently priced and the bartender knows his stuff, if I liked a bunch of mixed drinks I'm sure he would know them all. But I was happy with trying new whiskeys, then blasting some Pantera and taking a few blacktooths with the other guys in the bar. Really great local place, can't wait to go back. read more

The place was actually really nice inside and the staff was nice. I tried the onion rings, buffalo chicken wings, and fries. The onion rings were a little too greasy but the wings were really good.
