I had been begging for a decent BBQ in Clemson, and FINALLY my prayers have been answered! The food is top notch. I always get pulled pork and it is always delicious. The sauces are also great (Mustard is my favorite - also hard to find a good mustard!). The roll was warm and soft, and there are ample sides that are all to die for. The peach cobbler and sweet potato crunch are my favorites. I only wish that they were open more often (although that would probably be bad on the waistline!) and if their prices were a little cheaper - only because I'm a broke college student, the food is most definitely worth the price. This is by far the best BBQ I've ever had. My girlfriend and I are from South Orange County California and we come here every single week. I have had some of the best meals of my life here!!! The pulled pork is fantastic and the brisket is phenomenal. My girlfriend likes to order the chopped chicken, I think that she is kinda lame for ordering that but she loves chicken and I'd rather have pork. In my opinion, by far, the best item at the Smokin Pig is the glazed ribs. They're phenomenal and I'm speechless every time I eat them. Get them you won't be sorry! I also love to get the sweet potato fries and the baked potato casserole. Both are phenomenal as well. The sweet potato fries come with powdered sugar and honey on them and they taste as good as they sound. The mere problem with the Smokin Pig is that sometimes they can be inconsistent with their quality of ribs and the quality of the baked potato casserole. Sometimes the ribs are all perfect with very little fat and no gristly parts. Other times they can be gristly and fatty. I've found that going on Thursdays around dinner time the quality is a little better. Must be because it's the first day they're open for the week and they're using the best ribs that they have. Looking for a quick lunch, other than drive-thru, on the way up I85 and we decided to head a few extra miles off the interstate to try The Smokin Pig. It was worth the trip! We arrived before noon and the large parking lot was nearly full. The food was fast, fresh and delicious. And the wait staff was friendly and attentive. My 13-year-old son and I could have easily shared a pork plate as neither one of us came close to finishing the huge portions. The chopped pork was tender and tasty as it came but we couldn't help trying the selection of BBQ sauces...mustard-based, vinegar-based (my favorite), hot and sweet. They also offer a 50% (yes you read that correctly) military discount which makes it more than affordable. Words cannot describe it. Probably because the food literally melts in your mouth, even the bread rolls. The ribs, brisket, BBQ, and chicken all just dissolve as soon as they hit your mouth.
