    My steak
    Steve L.

We have been going to boondocks for several years. I've never had a bad meal. Gus, the owner is an excellent host and will come out to the tables and check on everyone. The servers that he has have been working for him for 30 years. This evening I had the 12 ounce steak and my wife had the salad with grilled chicken once again. It was excellent. We never have to wait to be seated. The atmosphere is inviting. They have a bar with wine and beer. My steak was cooked perfectly and I could not eat the entire meal. I guess I will have steak and eggs in the morning.

The food is hearty. The service is ok. They don't bring the bill you have to pay at the register. The place is rustic and good for kids. Looks like beer is all they serve. I had the salmon and it was good. I like that they removed the skin. The broccoli and cheese was good not so salty as others restaurants serving the side. Mashed potatoes were creamy. My husband loved the chicken fried steak and the gravy, the rice was loaded with gravy. The creamed corn was typical. They have daily specials and they are reasonably priced. The waitresses are very nice. The prices were reasonably priced.

Our go to lunch for comfort food on Sundays after church. Locally owned! Fresh food and friendly staff.

Chicken fried chicken, rice with gravy, and green beans.

Ordered the chicken fried chicken with two sides. The chicken was actually pretty decent, and came with white gravy. Ordered the rice and gravy and green beans as the two sides. The green beans were flavorless, and the rice and gravy were cold. There was no bread, and no side salad option. On a positive note the server was very kind although she never refilled my drink. I will let you judge whether this was a $13.50 meal with a drink.

Awesome place to stop on our way back from ATL! Our waitress was awesome and service was excellent and fast. We did the choose 3 appetizers: green tomatoes, sweet peppers, and cheese fries= loved the peppers and tomatoes! The chicken wings were tender and so delicious! Angus burger was cooked perfectly! Will definitely stop by again on our next trip!

Sorry in advance for the essay, I enjoy being as thorough as I can. We visited this place tonight, at like 6 on a Thursday. The line was out the door with a 45min+ wait time, I took this as a good thing at first. Things went downhill from there. During our wait, a man went inside and came out with a beer, not a good start. He had at least three beers while outside, it sort of ruined the atmosphere with his buzzed yelling, but we'll get to that part later. We are finally seated with our family and order our drinks, my tea ($2) to my gf's water. We order the 3 for $10 appetizer platter with fried mushrooms, cheese fries and fried pickles. The shrooms were baby bellas fried up in a thick flour batter and were typical in taste. The fries had bacon bits and a slice of a very heavy cheese, probably smoked gouda, they were good. The pickles were very similar to my own, with a light batter and a satisfying crunch, very good. Unfortunately, the fun ended there. My gf sampled the fried Grouper, where she described it as having been frozen, but overall still good. I ordered a custom burger with the regular beef, lettuce, tomato, bacon, monterey jack and the house specialty sauce: Chipotle mayonnaise ($.50). What I got, unfortunately, was a unseasoned smash-burger with almost no trace of the specialty sauce. To put this experience into perspective: the burger was tasteless to the point where the green leaf lettuce simply overpowered everything, even the bacon. At one point my burger fell apart so I took the notion to just eat the meat by itself and was greeted by blandness, there wasn't even any taste from the grill. As for the tomato, it was obliterated by the moisture from the patty and the weight. My gf got the custom fried chicken sandwich, with just bacon and mayo. What she got was what she ordered, but the mayo swapped for a slice of cheese, and she had to ask for mayo. She commented that the cheese took away from the sandwich as a whole, but the chicken was good. Onto the fries. I have no idea what happened here, but it was pretty bad. The entire table noticed this strange, but overpowering taste that I later figured out was celery. This flavor was not present in the cheese fries, but it was so strong here that a handful of them had made me sick to my stomach. The gf simply couldn't eat them at all. Oh, and remember that slightly buzzed guy from before? I sure wish I didn't. By the time we left, this man had consumed at least 7 known glasses of beer and was horribly drunk and very loud, so much in fact that no one at my table could hear me while I yelled at the top of my lungs. Our waitress was inattentive, as we all needed our first refills that we didn't get until we were nearly finished eating. In closing, this store literally says that it only uses locally sourced product, but I'm fairly certain that's not true. Quite a few tables in a small space equate to a viciously loud atmosphere, with less than stellar food at a somewhat decent price. This restaurant opened in late April 2016, so perhaps it'll be better in the future. Time will tell.

Good place to eat after church on Sunday! Crowded, but they are very efficient and you never have to wait long.

It's the anniversary of my mom's passing and Easter weekend so a particularly tough time and I was feeling for some home cooked cozy cookin but not up for doing it myself. As we are out of state and can't be home with family this weekend, we went searching on UberEats to hit that spot, knowing I was going to end up with something like Cracker Barrel or iHop, neither of which sounded good but, let's be real, I'm emotionally eating right now. However, a newly listed Sunday's popped up in the delivery options. The menu was a bit limited but scored points for authenticity . My hubby got the ribs, collards, and mac-n-cheese. I got the fried pork chop, rice & gravy, green beans & fried okra. Both came with a roll and we (of course) ordered sweet tea, something we rarely do anymore, only for special occasions. So here's where I get extra critical of my southern food. This is home cookin' and just what the doctor ordered. I didn't want fancy, I didn't want frilly, I needed true comfort food and that's what I found here. Could I suggest some tweaks? Sure, the rice and gravy didn't have much flavor, could use a little s&p in the gravy. The pork chops were a tad salty as well as the green beans but both had great flavor! The fried okra is, well fried okra, but at least it's not breaded in corn meal. Too many restaurants try to perfect perfection and over correct. Hubby's ribs were good, collards were good but we didn't have pepper sauce to add that pop of vinegar since we ordered delivery. His Mac n cheese (and this is gonna hurt, was a bit dry) but lately I haven't been feeling for Mac n cheese and haven't been a huge fan of the baked Mac n cheese trend lately anyway. I always feel it's dry so this is not a knock to the restaurant. Was every item perfection? No. Would I order again? In a heartbeat! This is home cooking. It's not pretentious. It's no doubt made with love and it reminded me of sitting down at my grandma's dinner table for supper. I needed a real comfort meal and that's what I got, warmed my heart. Oh and the sweet tea! My hubby and I have been opting for healthier menu items for several years now and I've even lost my taste for southern sweet tea as it's now too sweet even for me, again, born and raised on southern sweet tea. We ordered an unsweet tea to dilute it knowing I wanted the comfort of sweet tea but I probably couldn't handle so much sugar. Well, no need. It's rare to find a restaurant that gets it sweet enough without making the tea thick like syrup, true southerners know what I'm talking about. Sunday's sweet tea hits that perfect line where it's sweet enough but not thick and the tea flavor still comes through. No need to dilute with unsweet tea, it's perfect! I knocked a star, mostly due to the imbalance of heavily salted pork chops and green beans with the lack of flavor on the rice and gravy. I think a little balance there, share the spices lol would really make my meal top notch, but again, if my grandma or momma had cooked this meal I'd have no complaints. The only reason I'm even pointing this out is to offer a fair review on Yelp, otherwise I wouldn't say a word and eat with a smile on my face and an overstuffed belly.

I had the meat and 3, fried chicken with collard green mashed potato's and Mac and cheese. The service was great and the tables were kept clean. I'm always on the hunt for Old Style Family restaurant's and this place did not disappoint. A lot of choices on the menu, decided to try their Club Sandwich. The bread was some of the best on a sandwich I have ever had, nice and soft and not too little or too much bread where it overpowers the rest of the sandwich. Every bit of the sandwich and fries was tasty (picture was from their website- forgot to take one). The service was friendly, didn't take long at all before we had our food and they were attentive but not annoying. For those that love the old style family restaurant's, this is a must visit.
