This is my second trip to The Smokin' Pig and I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Expect a little bit of a wait but they have outdoor cornhole games and putt-putt while you wait. I'm not the biggest fan of brisket when visiting BBQ restaurants but theirs is amazing and I highly recommend it! I learned the hard way on my first visit and my son allowed me to try some of his. The sides are very simple but they compliment the BBQ. Fried okra was fresh and cooked to perfection. The jalapeño cheese grits are unbelievable and a must try! If you're looking for the BBQ dive style restaurant shack then this is your place. Walking up I could tell this was going to be a fun place but it also had amazing BBQ. There is so much space in the front with cornhole boards or just to hang out. When we walked In I could tell this was going to be amazing BBQ. Writing on the walls and chairs, menus board hanging on the wall and daily specials written on chalk boards. Or orders were quickly taken by a very efficient hostess the. We grabbed a seat. I ordered brisket and pork with collards and cobbler. My wife ordered the same with the grits and my son had the side of Mac and cheese with his brisket. The brisket slices were think and it was really well cooked. The pork was awesome but the sides were out of this world. Every single one of them was perfect. There were four BBQ sauces to choose from, Eastern NC style, hot, mild and mustard. I am not a huge fan of mustard BBQ (I'm from NC, IYKYK) but I'll say this was the best I had. The hot was my favorite and it had just the right amount of heat. For those that may be concerned about the description of the writing on the walls and divey spot don't be. The manager Morris was so great! My sister has many food allergies. This has presented numerous problems at various restaurants. On More than one occasion we went to three restaurants until she was able to eat breakfast. One a few occasions the managers were nasty and one just refused her service because they would not accommodate someone with allergies. The facilities at the Anderson Pendleton location has dramatically expanded & improved from the little gas station turn restaurant it once was. Still located in the station, they have added more seating to accommodate the growing community. The menu has grown as well, adding more meat, side, desserts & pork rinds, all while retaining the home cooked flavor you've come to expect. The wait was shorter than expected for the amount of people. We got into the barn. It was pretty cool. We played mini golf while we waited. It was fun but there were way too many kids running around. The holes were too easy. Enough ranting, let's get to the food. The water was cold and the lemon had more juice than any lemon wedge I've ever had. The Mac and cheese was incredible. It was smooth and rich. The roll was hot and buttery. Melts in your mouth. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the mustard base barbecue went perfect with the glaze. The banana pudding was good. It needed more banana flavor. They also didn't run out of food like the previous barbecue restaurant went to. The building and atmosphere is so fun and inviting. Every time I visit my Dad in Seneca we come here. Absolutely the best barbecue I have ever had. Recently I had the pulled pork plate with fries and fried okra. Miller Light to drink. Last time I had the pulled pork sandwich. The sweet potato crunch is awesome. My Dad said try the cobbler next time. My gf really enjoyed the dry rub ribs and green beans. The potato casserole was just okay and I was given a roll instead of the cornbread I asked for so I was a tiny bit disappointed there. Not pictured is the banana pudding, which was absolutely perfect. The wafers weren't all completely decimated and there were real banana chunks. The outside seating/bar area was really nice so if one ever back in the area I would definitely go back and sit outside! I'd also try more of the sides since there are so many options. Absolutely 10/10. The best dry rub ribs in the US in my opinion. Sides are absolutely delicious, and so many options. You must find the time to eat here if you love BBQ. Ambiance and service are top tier. The staff moves as fast as possible. Order in to go if you're in a hurry because there may be a wait if you're dining in. This place gets packed. So worth the wait. What a really fun place! Fantastic outdoor atmosphere with games and a great place to sit and visit while you wait for your table. This is definitely a restaurant for the whole family. We stopped in to get some dinner after seeing our kid at Clemson University. The wait was about 25 minutes, but it was totally worth it! We got a brisket and pulled pork platter with baked potato casserole, coleslaw, and fried okra. Everybit of it was Delicious. The whole meal was 10 out of 10. You order your food, find a table to eat, and then enjoy the experience. We lucked out and had Ann as our waitress. She was fabulous. She was engaging and inquiring and always made certain we had what we needed. We had the Pork, Brisket, and Ribs combo with coleslaw and fries. And finished off the meal with Apple Cobbler. The hype is REAL at The Smokin Pig! If you find yourself in the Clemson area, you have to go here. The ordering process is fast casual. The menu is up on the wall and you order at the counter. Then you go find a seat and the waiters bring the food out to you. We tasted the ribs, brisket, and pulled pork and we liked the pulled pork the best. There was a beautiful smoke on the brisket but our brisket came out a little dry. The portions were massive so trust me, you will not leave this place hungry. There are a TON of sides to choose from and my favorites were the mac and cheese (obviously) and that loaded potato casserole was just heavenly. There are four delicious and unique BBQ sauces sitting on the table and (you know, with me being a sauce girly) I HAD to try them all. I was shocked I liked the mustardy sauce the best. Out back, there is a full bar and draft beer with picnic tables to sit out there. There is also a huge hang out grassy area that would be great to experience in the warmer weather.
