I had no idea there was so much to know about feet and boot fit, but I didn't need to since Brady had my back.

Needless to say for a kid that has never really had an accident, this was going to ruin our day. Can you imagine a children's museum that doesn't have a gift shop. Worse yet, there really weren't any places we could get stuff to get him cleaned up. My wife yelped for Kid's clothing and LL Bean turned up not too far away. We walked over not sure if we would find anything. Taylor welcomed us and asked us how our day was going. I shared our situation while my wife rolled her eyes at me. I mean why skimp on details when you need an outfit fast and the sizing isn't what uou are used. Taylor found us several options of shirts. My son chose the purple t-shirt. She went back and found more pant sizes. He left in a pair of blue waterproof pants to go with his purple shirt. Taylor even told us that oddly thus happens and we aren't the first family looking for kids clothing after visiting the museum. Alas they don't sell underwear but it slvaged our afternoon and was enough to get him down for a nap. I consider that a WIN with a capital W. My wife found some traveling clothing as well because whe wanted to support the store as well. I really wanted to buy stuff as well but I run way too hot and it is September. The summer stuff is gone but there is always their website.

Lucky for me, Bob and Michelle were the best tour guides and assisted me with my tantrum. 2 bikes and about 10 "I give ups" later... we were onto one of the best experiences (on a bike) I've ever had. We enjoyed the city, it's beautiful architecture, along with detailed historical facts! Ken was our third guide who recommended we take the harbor tours to have a different experience. All 3 guides were fun, helpful, and accommodating! Highly recommend this tour when in Boston. From here on no more bus tours for us! ***I also got the most improved rider sticker. Yes everyone knew I was going to potentially crash, fall off my bike, or run over someone. Glad to say none of that happened, whoever I did almost run over two geese and an elderly lady. They thought we were an experienced group of riders... but they didn't count on me peddling away lol! Don't worry, by that time I had learned to use my breaks and WE all SURVIVED! Haha

I originally bought my bike from the Allston location when I was living in the area back in 2016 as a graduation gift. Even though I've had my bike this long, I didn't really bike much unless it was on a trail and that was probably once or twice a year. Then 2 years ago I introduced myself to riding on the roads more since more bike lanes opened up and created a sense of safety about riding on the road so I've been a little more active with it. So for the most part my bike had been ageing without being used much. Anyway... now that I'm in Somerville, the trek to Allston has kept me back for getting it check out. My husband was looking for a new bike and we discovered this location. Apparently they just opened up in January 2022. I recently bought a new saddle for my bike but didn't get around to putting it on myself, so since I was following him to go bike shopping I thought I'd take mine in for expert assistance with switching the saddles. Cullen was assisting me and he was very polite and informative- I had a bunch of questions so I could better know about my bike. He was teaching me things about the new saddle I installed and how to best maintain my bike (like how often I should be pumping air in the tyres), if i needed to replace my tyres- what size to get, if i wanted to install certain things where the correct soots to mount them are, etc. He was able to do an evaluation of my bike and tell me the longevity of its current state and what needed immediate attention. I mainly use my bike for errands during the summertime and are no more than 30 minute rides so we agreed that for now we just to change out my brake pads which were completely done for. It's a nice location, especially to test ride the bikes since it's away from the busy roads so you have the street to yourself to get a real feel of how the ride on the road surface.

I have been a regular shopper at City Sports, my preference when it comes to shopping for sports gear. I was disappointed when the junior section was removed and happy when it was returned. My son is growing fast and so are his feet. Junior stops at 6 and men start at 8. So no 7 or 71/2 in store to try (my son has a high instep so needs to try his shoes). Does no one in the industry notices the gap of inventory? Does anyone care. City sports is not the only one but being a country where most children and men have an average of 4 sneakers, I am quite surprised that no one cares that an 11 year old (let alone small men) that the attitude is " yes we know" but body language says we dont care and no one cares. So where to now? I surely hope that City Spots does something about this. And if it the suppliers that is the issues then push and push hard for this to change. By the way staff needs a bit of adjustment. I was not rude but was assertive about my disappointment and wished either staff member were a bit more sympathetic. I worked in retail for many years so I get it. Maybe some training is needed specially in the Chestnut Hill store (by the way I think the one in Legacy would have tried harder to look for an alternative (like suggesting women sizes which was not suggested by the way).
