A very enjoyable Sunday brunch with my wife. Lunch portions are available on the weekends. Southern shrimp chopped salad and Jambalaya was amazing flavor and nice lunch size portion. Price wise a bit high say $3-$5 more than other places, but the service and ambiance is well worth the extra few dollars. We will certainly be back for a regular dinner. read more

The menu is unfocused. The food is below average and the service was bad. When I asked my server ( I've been there twice) what's good on the menu they said lobster lollipops both times. Which is nothing more the lobster on a stick. I have been there twice and it was suggested to me twice. My server could barely talk about anything she liked on the menu. After we got our food I was not surprised. I got a noodle dish that just tasted like noddles with butter on it with a a little bit of seafood thrown on top. Creative menu and great atmosphere. Food is incredible. It all just melts in your mouth. Specialty drinks are innovative . Our server Hector was spot on with a great personality. The decor is beautiful. We had the buffalo cauliflower and the beet salad to start. My husband had the boullabaise and I ordered the black noodles with scallops,shrimp and lobster. Beautiful presentation. The blue and white patterned dishes are a nice change from the typical white dinner plates. Definitely will be on our go to list. read more

Visited for the first time with two friends. The vibe is friendly and efficient, destined to become a new Fairfield County singles hangout. That's not a bad thing necessarily, because the food is quite good, well above average for the Fairfield restaurant scene. The bar was packed with 20- and 30-somethings in small groups with the restaurant tables a mix of doubles and three/foursomes spanning all ages. Now for the food: home runs all around! Small plates of chowder fries, mussel pots, pork belly, grilled corn were all really tasty. The pan roast entree had a really satisfying creole tomato sauce with its seafood combo of shrimp/oysters/scallops and rice. An order of bluepoint oysters. Add sangria, an Aperol spritz, and a few raspberry mojitos. At the end was a lovely tres leches dessert. Bill came to $156. We enjoyed the people watching and lively din of laughs and conversation. The Sinclair was one of my favorite restaurants - note how I said "was". Last weekend, I went there with a large group of friends/family for my birthday. 95% of my party had arrived and we had been waiting about 15 minutes for the last person (who is 6 months pregnant and therefore moves a little slower than most of us). My boyfriend politely asked a gentleman if we could be seated as the last person was almost there and we had already been waiting, he grudgingly agreed although our table had been ready for quite some time now and they were nowhere near busy (it was 11:30a). As he led us to the table, he turned to me and condescendingly asked "are you REALLY sure you have more people coming?!" Not even five min after we were seated, my friend arrived. I later found out that the individual was the owner, which puts the cherry on top of this experience. I'm not a restaurant owner but what I do know is that is not how you speak to patrons. read more

First let me say this; the ambience was phenomenal. Great space and friendly staff. But we went in for brunch last Sunday and they have yet to implement their brunch menu which they have posted online. Please don't post something you are not offering. Mario was a great waiter but there was a little bit of a language barrier or knowing the menu so he had to run back and forth to confirm things. I personally had asked for the chicken fried steak with eggs and potatoes but never got my potatoes and was charged extra for 2 sunny side eggs to be placed on the side. The other people that were with me didn't enjoy their food either as it was truly bland with no seasoning of flavor. My fiancé had asked if the brunch menus bottomless drinks were available and after the waiter confirmed he has stated yes. But when we received the bill she was actually charged for every drink individually which was truly upsetting. But one of the owners came by and adjusted it as we were mislead by our waiter. I appreciate him doing this but seeing how the food was honestly didn't care to stay for dessert. We will not be returning as the food didn't really appeal to any of us and honestly for what we received food wise it was way over priced compared to the surrounding restaurants. I had an amazing meal however the service really ruined the experience. Waited ten minutes for menus, never was asked if we wanted drinks (which we did), we finished our food and no one came for half an hour. We asked for a waitress twice and no one came. We wanted to ask for separate checks for a long time, my friend didn't get bacon she asked for, and we still wanted to order drinks but literally no one would come. We just kept getting "Let me get your waitress". Even our very own waiter kept saying "Let me get your waiter" ????? Finally they came and we asked for separate checks. They said sorry no and dropped a huge check with a charge for the bacon we never got. We got up and asked for separate checks and to get the bacon charge off. They were clearly talking bad about us and pointing and laughing, we had been respectful the whole time so I'm not sure what the issue was. We got our separate checks and waited for a waiter. After 10 minutes, our waiter walked by and we asked for our cards to get collected. Once again he said "Let me get your waiter" but his name was literally on our checks as the waiter. He leaves slowly and just walks around doing things. Finally someone else came by and we asked for our cards to be taken, the waiter was asked before came up from behind and started taking the cards as if we didn't ask him to do that 20 minutes ago. Took another 10 minutes to get our cards back. So sad that this all happened because the food was insanely good. If you don't mind terrible service, you should come. read more

So much word about town, the hushed murmurs, the giggles as a group passes...these are all examples of how I've heard about The Sinclair. Having gone through the tribulations of dining at the newest place in town, i.e. slow or inconsistent service, technical snafus, kitchen vs dining room spats, we decided to wait a few months before we patronized Fairfield's newest sweetheart. And even after all that, guess what, wait we did! The don't take reservations so, for example, if you want to sit on the full patio, you'll have to wait. While doing so take note of the industrial meets Hollywood Regency styling of the space. Pluses are the outdoor patio, large window walls than disappear and ample, comfortable seating. It's a good thing the seating is comfortable...you'll be here a while. Our server, pleasant, bubbly and adequately attentive took our order: 2 glasses of white wine, 1 order of fried avocado, 1 Bluepoint oyster, 1 Kraken black noodles and 1 Jambalaya. The avocado sounded intriguing...I must be loosing my hearing. The oyster was excellent...thank you Mother Nature. And the entrees....hello?? entrees? anyone, anywhere. Over one hour later they arrived but not before the waitress refiled our wine glasses gratis for the egregious delay. Did I mention this was a Thursday night? Jambalaya was bland, watery and a visual disappointment. The Kraken black 'must have' noodles were oily, and dressed with a minuscule amount of seafood. Desserts are not made in house (creme brulee is the exception) but the espresso was excellent. The little Barbie doll spoons...this IS an adult restaurant, yes? Then the as we are settling the tab we are informed that the parents of The Sinclair are expecting another child. (Please start passing out the cigars now.) The already know the gender of the next bundle of joy...another trendy Cali-taco joint....with flamingos! Enjoyed a delicious dinner there for the first time. Our waiter was very nice and service was good. This is a great addition to Fairfield's restaurant offerings. It's so nice to have this restaurant, since it offers a menu unlike other restaurants in town. The menu and the atmosphere make you feel like you are in NYC, but you didn't have to hop on the train. I definitely will go back and make it a favorite of mine. The only compliant is it is very loud and I hope they consider adding the proper noise buffers to dampen the sound. I went to the Sinclair several weeks ago to try it out. I ordered a Chinese chicken salad. The menu said it included chicken, cabbage, sprouts and other ingredients you might expect to find in a Chinese chicken salad. When the salad was served, I started eating it and then begin to taste weird ingredients that I've never tasted. in a Chinese chicken salad. I asked the waiter about some of the strange things in my salad, and he said they were brussels sprouts. I said I've never heard of brussels sprouts in a Chinese chicken salad before can I speak to the manager. The manager came over and said that Brussel sprouts were their twist on a Chinese chicken salad. I said that's OK but shouldn't you list brussels sprouts on the menu rather than just sprouts. If I'd known about the brussels sprouts, I would've never ordered the salad because I hate brussels sprouts. He said sorry it made no attempt to ask me if I wanted to trade the salad for another entrée. I left the restaurant very disappointed and I haven't been back. But I have noticed that a description of their Chinese salad has not changed on their website. So if you don't like surprises and a manager who doesn't seem to care, avoid this place read more

I was there a few days ago with girlfriends for lunch, the service & food were great!!!! We catch up every few months so we stayed 3 hours later. Even though they were getting ready for dinner service they weren't pushing us out. Definitely will go back. read more

Really yummy food, fun atmosphere, good service. Can get a little over the top noisy/chaotic at the bar, which is in same room as restaurant, so if you're lookiing for intimate/cozy etc this wouldn't be that place. Also they don't take reservations so my advice is go early and sit at the bar and then take off when things get too full and crowded...unless you're looking for that! read more

I hope this restaurant succeeds. The build out is attractive from the industrial ceiling with chandeliers to the eclectic mix of dishes. The staff is friendly, service was very good. Now the food.., the buffalo cauliflower is amazing and I even broke my no fried rule as this is only flashed fried. A must try if you like a little spice! The Brussels sprouts are good but need a little more flavor. The black wheat noodles with seafood is so good. I am going back for that dish again. A must check out when in Fairfield. read more

had a reservation and they called a few hours ahead requesting we be on time or they would give our reservation away. we arrived 5 minutes early and waited 25 minutes to be seated. waited a subsequent 20 minutes for our drinks and to order food. hostesses were not friendly, unwelcoming, and inconsiderate. when we went to wait for our table outside to get some air, they stated passive aggressively "bye have a good night". food was good, atmosphere was nice. the waiter was spread way too thin and had little knowledge of the menu but was very friendly. service was poor overall. read more
