"Cute, nice, fun- it was very good Italian country food and I thought it was great." - my wife…read more I would be forced to agree with the opinion stated above Alla Campagna, or Italian for "to the countryside" was a delightful wine bar bistro. The ambience was tasteful and approachable like if somebody's grandmother ran a delightful restaurant that you'd actually want to visit. The service was trying their best Seemed pretty understaffed, but everything was fast and they were quite courteous. We had the focaccia which was stupendous, came with some wonderful dipping options after a glass of local red and a sparkling water we were served our main course, the wild boar Ragu what can I say about this? The homemade noodles were a true delight sauce was perfect and light in the bore... Oh, the bore. The tender amazing bore took me to flavor heaven I couldn't get enough. And of course, we saved a slice of focaccia to wipe everything up at the end. If you come across a bad review, you will probably see that it is a somewhat uneducated tasteless patron that's probably just twisted up about it being " too expensive " or that the " service was slow " so dear reader rest assured this is not your friendly neighborhood chilies this is something much much better.

We arrived at 6 to a little populated dining room. We were sat next to the window with the sun shining directly in our faces. The did close the curtains fryer I moved my chair to the side of the two top which was nice. We ordered the Insalata Alla Campana which had zero flavor. We asked if the could split and we were told the kitchen doesn't split plates. I would not recommend! We then ordered the roasted garlic and ricotta cheese meatballs and the Tuscan bean soup. If you go order two bowls of the Tuscan bean soup because it is amazing!1 I forgot our drinks. Hubs ordered the Fortunate Verde which was $17 dollars and very much over priced and a glass of the Rose which was mediocre at best. Our total bill was $80 before tip for appetizers and two drinks. This was a swing and a miss for us.

Jim and Nancy the couple/owners are great people! The wine tasting room was not very busy when we came in so we got fast service at the tasting/bar area. Not much outdoor seating at all in the front patio except for a few chairs and tables. Very nice design inside, welcoming, open, lots of natural light, a modern feel to it. We both did wine by the glass vs a tasting flight as we found wines that jumped at us both right away. I did a 22 Valley Mills Albarino and loved it, my wife did a Muscat Canelli and also enjoyed that. Our chat with Jim was priceless. What a cool guy and how friendly! We could have sat and talked with him forever I swear. He also let us each try a sample pour of the 20 Rustic Spur Semillon they have and I enjoyed that as well. Lastly was the half glass each we tried of their Lava Bluff 21 Montepulciano. I love my Italian classic grape varietals so this was a nice comparison. Thumbs up all around by both my wife and I. Very good wine! Another must-stop spot in Fred if your in town and want great experience with great Texas wine.

There is a reason Vintners has 5 stars fr all of the reviews. We walked in & were greeted by Dana. Dana took us on a journey through wine! She was friendly & taught me more about wine in an hourish than I'd learned in years. I just drank it occasionally. I'm going to keep this review short & sweet (like some of the wine we tried). We loved this place. We loved the atmosphere, the staff & the wine. Try it out! Cheers!

The caesar salad was top notch, with the plate coming out ice cold (next level!). I also loved the meatless pizza - sausage and veggies mixed with sauce and covered in cheese. Not to mention, Adrianna was one of the best waitresses we've had in a long while!

There was about a 45 minute wait for our party of 7, but the hostesses were very attentive and kept us updated on timing without us having to ask which we appreciated. Bread is brought to the table with oil and spices when you're seated. The bread itself seemed like standard grocery store bread and was room temperature, which was a bit underwhelming. The food came out very quickly, which is convenient but it did feel like the dishes were prepared more for speed than detail. Most plates were fairly oily and heavy on the cheese. Prices are reasonable, and the service was efficient, so we were in and out quickly. While it wasn't a bad experience overall, it just didn't quite live up to the hype for us and it's probably not a place we'd return to. That said, I can see how it might appeal to those looking for a quick affordable Italian meal.

I had a group visiting from California and they wanted to visit both the California wineries here in Texas, as well as some of the Texas wineries that buy 100% Texas Grapes. During our Main Street tour, we stopped in for a tasting after visiting another 290 winery just down from you. The experience couldn't have been more different. They had a blast and the staff shared her experience/knowledge about her personal favorite wineries in the area. I am partial to William & Chris, Ron Yates, Adega Vinho, Ferris & Fletch, Becker, and Kalasi. However, she recommended several that I hadn't tried or at least not recently. Having individuals in the group that like sweet wines, she knew exactly where to send them. Personally, I tried several dry wines that I really enjoyed. If you have not tried Fat Ass recently or better yet, since the new ownership, I encourage you to drop in for a tasting.

The wine, however, was less than palatable. We tried the sweet tasting, and honestly it was a bit nauseating with all the back sweetening. We decided to try to give it another go and get simple red and white BTG to go, but those were also too sweet for our liking. If you like sugar, this is your place. If you like nice wines, though, I'd skip it.
