This is the original location where many stars got their Start. The staff was amazing. The experience was fantastic. The comics started on time. Very efficient and very streamlined process. We didn't order food. We just had cocktails and it was amazing. Easily one of my favorite nights of the city. What a coincidence! 2 item minimum and phones are put in a puffy mailer bag that you have on you until the rest of the show. Their beef yakitori skewers were juicy and tender! My cucumber gin drink was refreshing and not too strong. Each comedian that went up did such a great job with various styles of humor and experiences to share. I wasn't expecting a drop in but Marcello Hernandez from SNL went up and did some new material. God.. I love good surprises. Usama closed out the night strong and I was incredibly pleased with the show. Not gonna lie.. it was kismet that I got to shake their hands after their sets since my table was by the exit door. But recently I kept seeing good comedy clips of Comedy Cellar on YT so decided what the hell, why not give it a try? Pro tips: - it is worth it. cover charge is not bad, you basically get to see 5-6 comedians. some nights are $25, but it was Sunday, so was $18. plus 2 drinks, so not an expensive night out. - definitely get a reservation. don't be those 20 people sadly standing in the standby section on the sidewalk, hoping to get an open spot. between the 3 jointly-owned clubs (incl Comedy Cellar & Fat Black Pussycat), they probably do 15 2-hour shows a night. You can always grab a resv for tomm, if tonight is full. - expect organization/chaos. they sort of have this down to a science. they line up the 200 people on the street out front, check ids, assign your table, get your phones into bags, etc. but once inside the system can break down a tad and long waits for drink service and your bill at the end, so be patient. - you will be forced to put your phone on silent and placed into a sealed pouch for the show. no exceptions. literally, your table # is written on the outside of the pouch. - be sure to check-in the minute you arrive, to get your pouch and then get in line (there is no one telling you this) - overall it's a fun time. comedians are talented, it's one of the best places in the country to see comedy and quite a NY experience.

Review #1,131 Posted on 10.12.26…read more We came here to Batsu for some fun on Friday night September18th while in town for my wife's 40th birthday. We had read & heard about a few interactive improv shows like this, and this one was our choice as it seemed the best one entertainment & food wise. We had a late reservation for the 10 pm show. We got sat as a big party right when we got there, and then the show started shortly afterwards. This show is highly entertaining and super interactive. It's non stop action, comedy, and you get to eat and drink too. This was so worth what we paid for it, and everyone had tons of fun. They offer to bring people up on stage to interact with the show, and be a part of it. My wife got to go on stage and participate, super cool experience for her. The group for sure gives itself some whacks, punishments and some raunchy & cringy stuff goes on. I thought buying the headbands was a cool little feature too. You stayed entertained from start to finish for this one. Highly recommend this 5 star entertaining experience.

The show is $45pp or $75pp for VIP, which includes a headband and random sake shots. I came here for a friend's birthday celebration, which was a grand ol' time! Our group got the Sushi Boat ($111) that comes with 4 nigiris, 12 sashimi, and 4 rolls. We also ordered the Tokyo Hot Fries ($10), which were seasoned so well --these were addicting! The same seasoning was also used for the 10pcs Fried Chicken ($22), so also loved that. The Pork Gyozas ($9) were pretty standard though. Alongside we had sake, beer and cocktails. All was a fun time with lots of drinking and laughter.

Review #1,120 Posted on 10.5.26…read more We came to the Stand for a show on Thursday Night the 17th of September to see Jimmy Florentine and others. Really good price of basically $35 out the door for this ticket. We were in town for my wife's 40th birthday bash and the girls were going to a play on Broadway, so we figured this would be a good hang. The tables here seem very close to the stage, it's an intimate venue, we of course with our luck got sat right in the front row. They do offer dinner here before hand if you want to sign up for that, we elected/opted to just go to the show though instead. When you come to NY, a place that's known like this could have some awesome comedians here on any given night, so getting a ticket for that low of a price is a steal, highly recommend.

I recommend getting there early so you can order while you can still see the menu since it does get quite dark once the show starts and it gets a bit more challenging to communicate with the waiters during the show. He did a great job of warming things up to start and really connected well with the audience. The comedians were from all over the country and from very different backgrounds of life. This place is great for any occasion at any time of the week with coworkers, couples, or big groups of friends. There was even one guy there who went alone (and was obviously was picked on by the host for that very reason). I will say the 2 drink minimum that everyone complains about isn't that bad. Typical price for NYC but certainly nothing special. Flavored margaritas (mango and blood orange) were a bit sugary. I would recommend sticking to something basic here. The only buzzkill was the random $10 service charge, which we didn't see noted anywhere like the 2 drink minimum notices everywhere but maybe we didn't looking hard enough.
