Went there for a Thursday night concert and was very pleasantly surprised. The venue was intimate enough to enjoy a good concert experience. Lighting and acoustics are fine and plenty of room to move around. The staff is courteous and very friendly. A nice touch is that the bar offers free water during the concert. I've been to Littlefield's for a friend's recital, comedy shows, and now their Rocky Horror Halloween party, and can recommend it for all. The staff is always so friendly The venue is always clean, and, there's always a good vibe to it. They have a great calendar of events to go along with what they're providing. I also like that you can go up to the bar and self-serve yourself water, which is great for someone like me who doesn't drink alcohol all that much anymore. The drinks also aren't that expensive. There's a subway stop nearby and parking in the area isn't too bad. I highly recommend Lane Moore's Tinder Live show. I've been a whole bunch of times and it is always different, and always deeply hilarious. The Rocky Horror show was also, amazing. read more

Littlefield is doing it right in the age of covid. I have visited many times over the years and it has always been a good time, most notably for the monthly pun competition known as the Punderdome, and most recently I went for my first indoor comedy show since before *all of this*. They required proof of vaccination even before the city mandated it for indoor events and though it felt strange to be rubbing elbows with a group of strangers while maskless for the first time in over a year, the Punderdome made it feel that much safer to do so. Even when I went for an outdoor comedy show in the summer of 2020, things felt very carefully spaced out and no contact, with QR code menus before that was widely adopted, speedy service, and fantastic tacos. I'm glad they survived thus far and hope they continue to be able to put on great shows like the Punderdome. read more

Front of the building is kinda hard to spot! There is not a lot to notice but the "LF" letters on the front of the building. It's a dark joint with excellent comedy and a funky vibe. They serve drinks at the bar and offer to order tacos for you, if you wish. This is a freak fresh date night spot or a place to take a group of friends. Seating is limited so come early. The subway is not close to adds extra time to walk here. If you Uber keep an eye out for the spot as the driver will have little to no luck spotting it on his own. read more

Maybe one of my favorite venues in Brooklyn to party at. The light system is the best part of the space. Feels like a very large factory. There's also a little restaurant connected to it that you can order food at if you go early before like 11. Drinks won't break your pocket with is important. I always get like a cider or some shit. So much about this place I like. - It's close to public transportation, which is great. - It's a decent sized space to host events. It allows space to congregate and also plenty of space to watch shows. - Decent bar. - Large stage that is easy to see from every angle of the audience. The only thing I really didn't love was how packed this place got and how limited seating there was. I almost think they should get rid of the seats all together and just have people sit on the ground (like a sofar sounds concert) as you could fit in more people comfortably. The show I saw was awesome (Ten Bones- Entirely from Memory.) I love the thought process behind these shows and they truly do a great job of putting them on. Came here for Reggae Retro last night and it was cool. It was super packed. No long wait for a drink even though the bar was busy. Bartenders weren't the friendliest nor were the drinks as strong as I prefer. It was pretty dark so I can't say much about the whole place. There's a stage where the DJ and hype men performed. Reggae tunes all night and conscious energy would be the main reason I come back. read more

I went to a Mortified show at Littlefield last night -- I was expecting a spoken word comedy show -- and was subjected to the most deafeningly loud music I've ever witnessed in a venue. It was a physically painful experience. We had to endure it for the hour before the show (stepping outside is not an option because one must stay in order to claim one of the precious few seats that are available -- tough luck if you're not able bodied and fast), as well as during an interminably long intermission. The venue is a rather small room with lots of bare walls, so it's really not good to have speakers pointed directly at the audience at full volume.  Meanwhile, my boyfriend and I both developed throbbing headaches, and could feel the hair cells in our ears dying, permanently. The kicker was when I went up to the guy in the sound booth to politely request that it be turned down to a safer decibel level, he nodded along, yes-yessing me so that I would be satisfied and go back to my seat.  As I sat down, HE TURNED IT UP LOUDER. He might have thought he was being clever, but this was honestly a health hazard. If it wouldn't have meant having to forfeit the cost of our tickets (and our eagerness to see the show), we would have walked out. Until they address this issue, I won't be coming here again.  It saddens me that there are multiple great shows I would regularly attend (Mortified, Punderdome, etc) were it not for the fact that they're happening at Littlefield. This venue has absolutely no regard for the health or comfort of its patrons, or frankly for that of its own employees. read more

Do people still use Yelp? Only when they're this angry. I took my husband on his birthday to see Aparna Nacherla. She was listed on the website, the posters, the featured act. Well, the tedious MC, made some joke..or was it a joke? I couldn't tell, about some comedians not showing up. We warm confused..and hopeful;waiting for Aparna. Unfortunately, the MC mumbling about the cancellations were lost on us, and we had to sit through the most boring millennial night of comedy ever. I go to The Douglass and The Cherry Tree for their free comedy nights; and never think of the comedian's ages. Because they are funny. If there was a sign, I would have immediately asked for a refund. Why do you list her prominently on your website? You should make it crystal clear that the starring act is not showing up. read more

I think the one star snubs of this place are written by complainers who have very few reviews to their credits and unable to distinguish the overcrowded nature of this city from a night in an intimiate venue that's pulling very popular names and curating lively events. Seriously, for me to give a one star, it's because I think that the world and my life would be better off it if the business ceased to exist. I think one and even two star reviews of Littlefield are not only unwarranted, they are irresponsibly misleading. Here's an honest evaluation as someone who's been to the old venue, been to the new venue, and produced an event hosted at the new venue. I first found out about Littlefield back in 2012 when I was broke, lonely, depressed, and part of a free/cheap comedy meetup group. I went to the old joint to see Janeane Garofalo and also had my hair blown back by pre-famous Amy Schumer during the opener. When I walked into the dark, graffiti'd, but not dirty space and grabbed a bottle of craft beer, I remember texting a friend: "I feel like I'm in Seattle." (This is a GOOD thing). Then, the years went by and I missed many an event (music groups, cover bands, theme parties, Punderdome, comedy sets, etc.) even if I'd had every intention of going there seeing as it's right down the hill from my place. By the time I went to see Hari Kondabolu last year, the venue had moved to its present location. The new space is neater, more polished, more open in layout, and with a greater range of drinks at the bar. There were seats that evening and all were full, so I squeezed in next to the water dispenser at the bar. I could see all right, and neither the patrons nor the staff got on my case about it. Next, events transpired so that I produced my second annual Brooklyn Jeff Buckley Tribute Concert there last November (the inaugural installment was at the wonderful ShapeShifter Lab - I've decided to spread the love to a new venue each year). First were emails reserving the date and then brainstorming about what kind of vibe we're going for and what services are available. Then, an in-person visit and walk through that wasn't required but that I'd wanted to have. They didn't take cash up front, but drew up a contract for a percentage of the door proceeds after the surprisingly reasonable expenses for providing an in-house door person, sound engineer, and a stage engineer (a really handsome actor who manages to work his magic from L.A.). To me, this is a huge show of trust and partnership. I MAXED OUT everything the venue had to offer, maxing out their free coat check and green room (in which they even placed a case of beer!), having their bar manager create four themed cocktails alluding to Jeff Buckley's songs, projecting a charity's information on the high-res LCD screen on stage and in the reception area, and getting tables set up for like 15 different bands' merch. Only at the eleventh hour did I get to feeling that I would've appreciated more proactivity in publicity and stage engineering coordination but quickly got over that because it's a rookie's mistake for any producer to forget that it's ALL ON YOU. In other words, it's my fault that I asked for their press list after many submission deadlines had passed. And I was foolish to think that a man across the country with lots else on his plate would aggressively follow up with northwards of 40 artists to find out what THEY needed. Event day was the truest testament to this venue's power and service. While the show didn't roll out TO THE MINUTE as it miraculously had the year before, it was a smooth success, especially considering there was ONE guy mixing the sound for each act AS they were happening, while shuttling back and forth to set calibrate a DJ booth at the sister business, the Parklife Brooklyn Mexican restaurant around the block. One moment, it was a Celtic harp player and soft falsetto singing, the next, a five man group. Each time, the sound was PERFECT - both the musicians and the audience knew it. The show was well attended but not sold out, meaning that the die-hard could sit in a row, creating a buffer to the stage. Behind them were the standing and the dancing, and back further, the barflies. The superb sound combated interference from the socializers. Importantly, no one got hyphy under pressure. And once the clock started rolling, no one counted and we all just enjoyed the ride. At one point, the sound engineer did laugh, "You didn't tell me it'd be like THISSSS!" (I still owe him a burrito and beers from Parklife.) After 3+ hours of musical bliss, a staff member showed me the breakdown and gave me a check right on the spot. I was so impressed, moved, even, and proceeded to Parklife with some of the performers who also needed to come down from the high with delicous Mexican food (separate review forthcoming) and smoky whisky by a raging outdoor fireplace whose fragrance would linger in our hair along with the memories. read more

First, the only thing wrong with this venue is if your in the back row, it's hard to see the stage. They didn't take Into account to elevate the floor plans. Aside from this, the sound system and atmosphere is great. A lot of indie talented artist perform here. It's a venue that can fit about 200 people I think. Maybe 250. They have a small lounge for the artist in the back stage. The bar gives complementary water, which is rare in any nightlife venue. This place closes around 1am maybe 2 if it's popping. Reggae Retro is lit. Every first Saturdays of each month. But this Saturday was extra special because it's Labor Day weekend. The Caribbean massive along with other soca/reggae enthusiasts came out to play last night. The cover charge is 20 bucks and the bar is cash only so have your money ready. (Spoiler alert: there is an ATM inside the lounge though). The bartenders were working last night. They hooked our drinks up. I had no complaints! I didn't know the DJs' names but they brought a nostalgic musical vibe into the environment. It was packed with so many dancing bodies that it felt like a music video. Even if you thought you couldn't dance, you felt the rhythm of the music pulsating through your veins. You couldn't help but to dance or even just rock side to side. Staff was lovely. They were professional at the door, very courteous. There was no negative energy at the door. Restroom stalls are unisex so it was pretty funny that I ran into some dancing partners during the bathroom break and seeing them in the bright light. Ha. Overall this place is definitely worth a second visit. But most of all, the crew that I was with always make it worthwhile. read more

I am currently at a comedy show with David Cross. I think it says a lot that I am writing this review rather than enjoying the show. David is actually pretty funny, and the other comedians are pretty good too. However, the place is way overcrowded and more than half of us are standing and can't see the stage. My lovely view of the stage is from a small tv screen in the back. They do have relatively cheap ($5) beers but the venue is not good unless you are one of the first 8 people in the door to get a good seat. read more

They have the same great beer selection as the old space. The stage has decent visibility no matter how far back you are, and the acoustics are good. // Night Train We came here for the Night Train with Wyatt Cenac last night (Mondays at 8pm). If you buy tickets days early online they're ~$6, closer to the show is $10 and at the door it's $8 cash only. They have an ATM on site that's $2 to use. We were a couple minutes late but luckily they let people trickle in after they start. // Space The space is really cool, one large open room with the stage in the very back, staring straight at you when you walk through the door. My only gripe is that they could have easily added a couple more rows of seats. There was a lot of empty space and a lot of people standing. Drinks are reasonably priced: beer starting at $5, cocktails are $11. They take card at the bar. // Show The comedians were hilarious - well worth the money! Wyatt did a great job warming up the crowd and there was a DJ on stage playing the intros and outros. There were 8 comedians and the show lasted until about 10pm. I've attended a couple of events at this bar/venue - a comedy show and an awards show viewing party. Love the space! It's perfect for screenings and shows, with a decent-sized stage and huge main screens. It can get crowded during events and hard to see the stage from far back but do have smaller TV screens to accommodate. The bartenders are really efficient and while there are usually only a couple at a time, they are able to manage crowds impressively well. Drinks here aren't too expensive either, making it a solid spot for going out even on nights that don't have events going on. Do keep in mind that there'a $10 card minimum when ordering. read more

Came here for a spontaneous comedy show on a Monday night. Only thing I wish there was more seating however can't complain as we walked in late and bought our tickets at the door. Drinks were reasonable: $9 for beer and shot and $5 for beers. Acoustics were good even for standing in back. Good place to check out. read more

On the recommendation of a friend, we came to Littlefield over the labor day holiday for the Reggae Retro event. Two words - Super LITTY! We arrived around 11pm, admission was $15. As with any party, it was pretty empty in the beginning and the music was a lot of roots reggae music. I love reggae but roots reggae can become a little drawn out after awhile. By 12:30am, the place was packed to the brim! I'm talking elbows to elbows with lots of sweating. They also switched up the music and played some new and old dancehall tunes (insert Maxi Priest and Shabba + the bougle dance YES!). I had sooo much fun, can't remember the last time I did that. The crowd is a mix of ages, anywhere from 25-50 I would say. Only thing I had from the bar was a red bull, so I can't speak too much on that; Service was great all-around from the staff. This is a monthly event, I will be sure to return and tell others. Big up! read more

It might be a great venue if the crowd is small, no more than 40-50 ppl. If the place is packed - forget about being able to see anything on stage. This place has the worst floor setup I've ever seen at a music venue: the floor slopes upward closer to the stage, which itself is set very low, so unless you are standing right in front of it or 6'+ tall - you won't see a damn thing. Sound system is pretty good though, otherwise it would've been a 1 star review. read more

My wife and I got tickets to see Dakha Brakha at Littlefield tonight, based on a great experience we had seeing them at the Schimmel Center at Pace University. The performance was scheduled to start at 8:00 PM, with doors opening at 7:00 PM. The performers weren't on stage after 8:35 PM and there was no announcement about why there was a delay or how much longer the audience would have to wait. That's a lot to ask for a venue that requires its patrons to stand for their shows - we were standing for over an hour. My wife and I had enough of standing around and waiting and left without seeing the show. A horrible experience. If you don't mind standing around for a half hour or more after the scheduled start time, this venue's for you. read more
