So much fun in on litle place !! Celebrated the Women's Media Group's 50th Anniversary on 12/4 with a fabulous line up of gifted, hysterical Comedians. This was a special celebration and an A list line up. Service was great. The drinks..hmmm, my Negroni was memorable, but not in a good way. I'd return for sure, nothing like a night filled with laughter!

We bought tickets online and the comedy was good. The speakers made it kind of hard to hear at the side tables. It's a two drink (not item) minimum per person, which is a lot but fairly consistent across other comedy clubs. I would say that 4/5 of the comedians are funny so that's pretty good.

Cramped venue, sticky floors, surprisingly good food and some of THE FUNNIEST comics we've seen over the last 15 years in NYC. We went for my birthday weekend last November, and the line-up did not disappoint. It was an All-Star night, and they were definitely all stars. I can't remember the last time I went to a comedy show where every comic had me laughing so hard that my face hurt when I left the show. There is a 2 drink minimum, but we don't drink so we got bottled water and sodas. I felt bad, the tables and walking area is quite cramped and I saw the servers almost trip on feet a couple of times, but they are pros and were calm and collected about it. The food was surprisingly good. We shared two apps and they both came out hot and fresh and I was glad they didn't taste like they came out of the freezer etc. I would definitely go back. We have added it to our rotation between a few of the other clubs we like to frequent in the city if and when we can get a night away from the kids.

Tip: buy your tickets early to ensure you get a good view of the stage. The venue is very cramped and your neighbors will be very close. Keep that in mind when you choose your seats. There's a two drink minimum per person, food and beverage service is quick and efficient, and the show lasts about 75 minutes. The comics were all great, shoutout to Erin Jackson, she was my favorite!

So much fun, we went mainly to see Regina Decicco cause of seeing her on The View as warm up comedian, hands down knows how to work the crowd, and she did the same at Gotham, we also got an extra treat that night, Jerry Seinfeld made a surprise appearance and what a treat that was, all the comedians were great, was a great time. #lovetolaugh

Visiting the Gotham Comedy Club has become a staple when we visit New York. We've had our fair share of hearty laughs and when the crowd has a good energy it only elevates the experience. Keep in mind that there is a two drink minimum which is not an issue because they have a decent selection of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, and even food selection to snack on, and the service staff does an awesome job of checking in on you without interrupting you too much during the show. We will continue to make this one of our stops when we visit!

We went for an 8pm classic All-Stars show during the week and could not have been more pleased. The female host was HILARIOUS and offered the perfect palate cleanse between each comic. It was $20 for a 2 hour show with a two drink minimum and we reserved our seats online in advanced. I booked only a couple of hours before the show at what could be considered the "nose bleeds" in a back corner. The upside to this was that we had our own table (smallest table seats 4) and with a little more space from the other surrounding tables. Plus, the farther tables ensured we were safe from any potential roasts! There were not any TV screens to showcase the comics during each act, but the acoustics were crisp. We definitely got in our best laugh that night! The two drink minimum might cause some grumbling for some, but thankfully they had a decently priced local lager and IPA. A downside would be that the tables in the central part of the room are cramped. If you need to use the restroom mid-show, then you're going to be climbing through a lot of feet just to get to the other side of the room to exit. It would be helpful if there was another exit to the bathrooms on the opposing side of the room (where we were sitting). Either way, this is a mainstay comedy club in NYC that is a must visit! Plus, if you're lucky, someone famous might drop in for the show!

Love coming here!! We have been to quite a few shows and we always have a good time. They are pretty organized. It is a tight squeeze inside but I never have had any real complaints. It is not cheap for drinks and food but definitely a worthwhile experience.

My wife and I had a blast…read more Everything about the evening show (starting around 9 pm?) was excellent, but there is one thing I want to point out the most -- the extraordinary effort the comedy show host and all the comedians made that night. We made a spontaneous decision to attend the show because we heard someone walking around saying "Comedy show!" I'm not even sure it was someone from Comedy Village as we didn't get a good look at him in the crowded street, but we were looking for something to do next as we were wandering around aimlessly after watching a Broadway play ("Art" if you haven't seen it, is a must-see.) A comedy show sounded like a great idea as that's one of our favorite things to do when we're vacationing in other towns. Comedians can easily do a great job on nights when everything is going well -- the crowd is big, there's high-energy in the audience, etc. But you really learn about comedians' commitment to their craft when, for example, it's a federal holiday, and it's an unusually quiet night by NY standards, and it's cold and bitter outside. We were part of a tiny crowd that night and wouldn't have blamed the performers for phoning it in. But they didn't. The host was outstanding, and his energy set the stage and the tone for the night. He and the other comedians willed the audience to a great show. I was way more impressed by them under those circumstances than I would have been at a packed house on a more pleasant evening. Job well done! On top of that, the food was surprisingly good. Food typically isn't much to write home about at a comedy club, but everything we ordered came out hot and delicious. As a bit of a chicken wing snob myself, I also give two buffalo-sauce-drenched thumbs up to the wings. Last but not least, the service was excellent, too. Service at most restaurants today is, well, not great. But the service here walked that perfect balance between checking on us enough to make sure we had what we needed without being annoying. We're going to start heading up to New York much more often, and we'll absolutely return to Comedy Village!

This is a Must every time we come to NYC, and we have shared the experience with friends, who end up loving it as much as we do. We've been to different time shows and no matter which it's always a great time. All comedians performing always bring their A-Game and have us laughing all night long. To the point that we are repeating jokes the next day and still laughing. You get to see at least 5 different comedians, and sometimes even "bigger names" show up trying out new material, or just because they're in town. Reservations are really recommended, especially if you are visiting, as it does get sold out, and even thought there's a wait-list line, it get's sold out quick and not guaranteed you will get in. A guy at the door said people usually line up a little before one hour before the show to get on the list and staff members come at one hour before. I got in line (first in line lol) at 9p and people really started lining up around ~930p. The staff came around 945 to allow us to scan the QR code (must present ID) to reserve a spot in line. You only need one person per party to scan the QR code. He told us to come back at 1045 (no need to be in an ordered line) to see if our names would be called. After they let in people with reservations they returned to the standby line. I'd say maybe ~12 people got in that time. The staff member said people usually have more standby success for later shows. THE SHOW: The show was spectacular. They understandably ask that you put your phones or Apple Watches in a sealed envelope that you keep with you during the show. We saw five acts - 3 were strong, 2 were weaker. The weaker 2 didn't bomb but we just didn't enjoy as much. There is a cover charge + 2 item minimum per person. The item can be food or a nonalcoholic beverage, so no worries if you don't drink alcohol. Service was good. It's a cramped space but not uncomfortable and I think there's really no bad seat in the house. Such a fun night. :)
