We called ahead to make reservations and they added us for 6:30. The restaurant is on the main floor of a hotel and the decor is very elegant with patio and inside seating. They sat us by the window facing the street, which was nice. We ordered the chowder and a half dozen oysters to start. For mains, our kids got the Mountain Burger and mac and cheese. They ate everything on their plates. My wife had the Steamer Pot and I order the Halibut and Chips. Both were excellent. The Halibut and Chips were not greasy. Steamer Pot was tasty with the coconut curry base. We had the Orchard Apple Pie for dessert which was also excellent. Family really enjoyed the dinner, and its close proximity to the park, beach, and boardwalk with boats was very convenient. We noticed that they had Happy Hour specials in drinks and Sharing Plates. Will definitely have to try coming again during those hours. Also if note is it looks like they will validate or reimburse for parking which is good for next time.

It was close to closing time so I thought maybe they were rushed, etc. I went back from breakfast and was awful. I ordered an eggs Benedict, the muffin wasn't toasted, the eggs were overdone, and it was not hot. Nobody came by to check on me and I was very hungry so I ate some of it anyway. It wasn't busy in either visit, so it wasn't a matter of low staff. It's too bad, this could be a nice place.

Well, we were driving through West Kelowna and…read morefound "Buy the Sea," which surprised us with a menu that not only included fish and chips, but lots of fresh seafood to take home as well. The small restaurant/market offered different kinds of fish and chips at different price points. There was Cod, Haddock, Halibut, Prawns and Oysters, and we chose to split the Haddock and chips, with extra coleslaw and tartar sauce. The Haddock arrived quickly and hot, with a piece for each of us, and a handful of fries - even for a split dish, there were really large portions. The fish was perfectly fried, and inside, tender and melted in my mouth. The chips were crispy, and I enjoyed dipping them in both the ketchup and tartar. They also provided both white and malt vinegar which I appreciated. After lunch, we perused the market area and saw there were giant crab legs, octopus, lots of fresh fish, poke, smoked fish and crab. I had my eye on the sushi-grade Ahi which I will take home next time to make my own sushi. There were also jars of sauces and dressings, and I spied ghost pepper sauce for the next time I need a good flavor boost. The prices were reasonable, and everything seemed fresh and clean. Looking forward to returning!

Everything was fresh & cooked to perfection. This is a very comfortable place. No loud music, so we could carry on a conversation easily. We shared a dessert it was more than enough for two. Fresh pineapple fried in a tempura coating laid up on two scoops of wonderful ice cream with a Carmel sauce. If you're looking for a great fresh meal of assorted fresh fish this place can't be beat. The service is spot on. There when you need something otherwise you're left alone. No one hovering over you. There is a small patio if you like to sit outside. Have a bear or a glass of wine with your meal. Adjoining the restaurant is the fish monger. Stop & give this spot a try I'm sure you'll be pleased with your meal & the service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Broken Anchor to anyone looking to have a great meal if assorted types of fish & chips. There's something in the menu to please everyone. My daughter & I will definitely be going back for another enjoyable lunch. Thanks for the great service Broken Anchor & a meal that was fresh & delicious.

We dropped in on a Friday (around 6:15pm). The inside is small with about 5 tables. You order up at the counter and pay first. The menu consists of shares, tacos, bowls, sandwiches, fish & chips and family packs. They also have a very small, limited happy hour (1:00pm to 5:00pm). - Wild pacific cod ($21.55 for 1/2 lb) - the cod was extremely disappointing; completely dry and overcooked. The fries were the same. Soggy, limp and bland. Coleslaw was passable but oddly not cut evenly. - Steamed clams & mussels ($19.00) - came with four pieces of buttered bread. The white wine sauce and garlic was decent but something you could replicate at home. Would have liked a little more clams and mussels for the price point. Was hoping to find a gem but left Broken Anchor disappointed. Try somewhere else for your fish & chip fix.

(Bibimbap) and some true Italian (Gnocchi and homemade Pasta) with the rest being slight variants of both. We had the Burrata salad with greens and roasted and fresh tomatoes (nicely skinned) with Pesto, Pune Nuts and a balsamic dressing. It was beautiful but needed more salt and acid to tame down the Burrata. Still a nice salad. We split the Patate Fritte which was fried potatoes and gnocchi with a really flavorful Chipotle Mayo. The whole dish didn't work. The gnocchi were over fried and too small to eat with the much larger potatoes which were also underdone. The Tuna Poke Bowl was very nice (and a good deal) with all of the usual components. The Salmon was cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside slightly translucent inside ) and came with a wasabi cream, lots of roasted veggies (potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans) and somewhat random things like cornichons, caper berries, and beets. The whole thing worked but would have been better with some editing. I personally wanted more wasabi in the cream and wished that it didn't get watered down by all the veggies. They have a nice cocktail list and a decent list of wines by the glass, several local all fairly priced. The place is modern looking with windows overlooking downtown streets in two sides. The place is very modern with lots of metal and concrete and consequently lots of energy and lots of noise. I see this as a great space for a bunch of friends, less so for a romantic dinner. Overall I liked this place. It could be better and I would return. I love what they are aiming for.
