Raspberry lime sorbet
Krista U.

One of my favorite spots for a sweet treat hidden within the neighborhood. I appreciate that there is a rotating menu, I usually get a sorbet flavor or some sort. Staff is usually friendly and you are allowed samples. If you check in on yelp, you can get a 10% discount!

Strawberry guava sorbet and peach guava Italian soda
Tasha L.

I really enjoyed the strawberry guava sorbet and the peach guava Italian soda. My husband ordered the salted caramel iced cream. The low rating is because the scoop wasn't rinsed after getting my strawberry guava and was then used to scoop the caramel. And those flavors don't exactly mix well. My husband also found a long black hair in his iced cream.

I only go to ice cream shops that sell their homemade ice cream, rather than buying it from a local dealer. Scoop takes it to another level, with ice cream made onsite every day. After reading that, I knew we had to check it out. It did not disappoint. The fact that it was fresh took it to another level. I feel like even if they weren't good at making ice cream, the freshness would shine through, and it would still be good. Thankfully, they know what there doing and it shows in their quality. Our first time there I ordered the cheese platter ice cream, thinking that it would be a cheese ice cream base. After I had the ice cream in hand, my wife asked the Scoop employee what was in the cheese platter. She said it was an apricot ice cream base with other stuff mixed in. "Oh no! I just ordered apricot ice cream." It was fine. Fortunately, I also ordered a second excellent flavor to accompany my apricot. Our next time back I asked for samples of each ice cream in my bowl, to confirm that they were flavors I liked. "Chocolate ice cream? I'll sample it first to confirm. Thanks." This is the best ice cream shop in Spokane.

Dole whip swirl!

Yum!! Seriously! My friend reposted a post from the scoop talking about Dole Whip going away... I couldn't resist. Being new to Spokane (again) I had to go get some!!! I got the swirl and it was soooo good! Their confetti waffle cones are to die for. Not too sweet and actually have a bit of a chew which is so good instead of the typical crunchy crisp shell! We also got chocolate fruit punch all of which were very good! Cute little south hill location it wasn't overly packed. Service was good! Street parking. I wish they weren't going to take the dole whip away I could eat that everyday! Lol

Great location and lovely outdoor seating area. Nice post-dinner spot to hang out with your friends/family. The ice cream selection is pretty good and they have fruit flavored vegan soft serve in pineapple and strawberry flavors.

Thanks yelp for putting this spot on my map! Passion sorbet, pineapple soft serve, banoffee with almonds

Service was great, didn't wait long at all, I got a cheeseburger which was not only HUGE but had the coveted crispy edges that smash burgers are known for. I went crazy and got a fruity pebbles shake to top it off which I HIGHLY recommend (it's like fruity pebbles cereal milk and ice cream had a baby - yum!) Oh and Idid I mention you can add Booze??? Tasty, but, over-the-top on the greasiness. And, I now know smash burgers aren't my thing. For the price, seems like a few fries or tots should come with it. For the burger & basket of tots (which was a generous amount), was over $21 without drinks. We had water. Only two bad things: 1) I walk with a cane & it slipped on the greasy floor by the cash register where you order. Maybe throw another rug down there? 2) There was no hand soap in the bathroom. One of the staff said they hadn't gotten their supply order in & they were out. a) What are you using to wash your hands in the kitchen? Dish soap maybe? Hopefully, something other than the hand sanitizer that was being offered to customers. b) THERE'S LITERALLY A YOKE'S ACROSS THE PARKING LOT!!!! Finally, it was very busy (glad to see that!), especially on the patio. I love supporting local businesses, but, this just isn't for me.

Do you know about the hidden gem, only five minutes from downtown Spokane?…read more If you're looking for a great place to eat, I recommend trying out the local bistro. They have friendly staff, and I'm sure you'll enjoy your experience there. Their wine list is exceptional, but tonight, we decided to try their cocktails. Get ready to tantalize your taste buds with these incredible drinks and appetizers! Start with a Heat Wave cocktail that packs a punch with vodka, jalapeño, passionfruit liquor, and triple sec. Or, try a refreshing Pomegranate Margarita made with tequila, pomegranate, lime, and triple sec. Indulge in a Butter Board layered with smoked honey butter and rosemary, served with delicious applesauce with pistachio and sourdough bread. And don't miss out on the Carrots that are cooked to perfection with smoked honey butter and blackened dill, served with pork rinds. It's no wonder why these Carrots are so addictive The beet salad with a brown butter vinaigrette, frisee, and crispy onions was a good side choice My hubby ordered the steaks and couldn't stop raving about how it was comparable to Churchills - that's how good it was! As for me, I got the halibut; it was a good-sized portion. The chard vegetables- asparagus, were delicious. And the best part? We ended our meal with a warm, gooey blueberry cobbler that was just divine! Oh, I almost forgot! There are no kid's menus, but our server suggested either pizza or they can serve butter noodles Latah Bistro 4241 S Cheney Spokane Rd Spokane, WA 99224 United States

I had heard wonderful things about this little bistro, but I left severely disappointed. We ordered the Wagyu steak, the chicken dish and a Margarita Pizza. The Wagyu was on the spendy side at $52.00 for this type of establishment, but not outrageous. Sometimes I am hesitant to order a steak of it is too inexpensive. However, a good Wagyu ordered medium rare should not be served sauced and sliced and should not be cold to the touch. It was very rare and not cooked properly. I don't believe they have the correct equipment to cook a steak like this as it appeared to be cooked properly on the edges. Whoever sliced it should have known that Wagyu will be tough and chewy if not cooked properly. The pizza had the same issue. It was bland and served cold. We decided to bring it home and try and cook it later. If I had to guess, it was a frozen pizza just cooked and not fresh. Finally, the chicken never came. It turned out that they were out of chicken. With a limited menu, this was disappointing, so we switched to the $28 cheese tray. The cheese tray was ok. Clearly just three random cheeses without a lot of thought into how the flavors could be expanded and mixed with the sides. The service was very polite and professional, which was the only redeeming factor. The food was not cooked well. It was not expensive, but it was not cheap and the food felt cheap and poorly done. If you are going to charge higher end prices, you need to deliver a higher end experience. My thoughts when I left were that if I lived close, I might wait a couple months and try again, but I will not bee driving out of my way again to eat there. Again, this kills me as I really had looked forward to trying this small bistro.

I could tell there was still plenty of time to get a scoop before 8PM. At 7:43 PM, one of the workers came out from behind the counter and told about 10-15 of us in line that we would have to leave because they close at 8. She was very kind about it, and she kept saying "I hate having to do this," but it made absolutely no sense. She arbitrarily split the line, and decided some people could stay, but said the rest of us (5 girls ahead of us, and 7-8 people behind us) had to go. Mind you, the girls in front of us and our group were ALREADY IN THE SHOP. Everyone looked really confused, understandably. I've literally never had this happen to me before. I held up my phone to show the worker the time, and I said, "Its only 7:43. We have 17 minutes before closing." Others said, "but we're already in the shop" or "but we've been waiting in line for a while." None of this made any difference. We all still had to leave. Even though there was plenty of time to get everyone ice cream. And god-forbid they have to keep working until 8:05 or 8:10 to make sure patrons who waited in line could get ice cream. What kind of shop does this?? How is this acceptable? "Bad customer service" puts it mildly. I could spell out a million other better ways this could have been done. Do better, Scoop. Spokane already struggles in the ice-cream shop department. Please be a part of the solution, not the problem.

(As a side note to other reviews: we did NOT get any sauces on top of our delicious ice cream, it would have definitely ruined the quality flavor!) The service was great, the gentleman who served us; was friendly and knowledgable about ice cream and explained the process and Doyle's wonderfully. The ambiance of Doyle's is a classic old ice cream shop with lots of classic decorations all over the place. This was our first visit to Doyle's. My husband got a single scoop of mint chip ice cream. Originally, I was going to get a banana split but they were out of bananas. I thought strawberry, was fresh fruit strawberries. I thought the chocolate was chocolate chips. There is a little patio area, with tables and chairs behind the parlor. I was super disappointed by the ice cream I received. The sauces were overwhelming, disproportionate to the ice cream. The sauces were way too sweet. I couldn't even taste the ice cream. The ice cream was fair, not rich and creamy. I didn't finish even half the ice cream, not worth the sugar high and dry mouth. Cherry Garcia is what you expect it to be if you're familiar with Ben & Jerry's and Berry Berry Extraordinary was new to me and had to try it. It was a pretty tasty sorbet. My friend got a strawberry limeade smoothie. He said all he tasted was tart and limeade. He didn't taste any strawberry, which I agree because I tasted it and it definitely lacked strawberries. The decorated case was full and looked pretty good, but we didn't get anything from it. My 3 gripes are: 1) my double scoop looked like a junior scoop at best, 2) it was $16 bucks and it was a lack of value and quality regarding the smoothie, and 3) they had all the flavors you're familiar with but sorely lacked any fruity type offerings. Unfortunately I get a better value buying a pint at the grocery store that's cheaper and gives more than 2 scoops.
