We came down to eat some lunch by the pool and were really impressed by Carlos's service and the food quality. We got some of the best at the beach wings yet - they were perfectly crispy and so saucy, don't pass on them. The chicken tacos were tasty, along with the truffle fries, but I loved how fresh the chicken wrap was - a perfect but large portion of chicken wrap right by the pool. The drinks were amazing as well and everything is miami priced, but a really solid spot by the pool. read more

This is the pool area on the 3rd floor of hotel of the 1 hotel. This probably isn't the favored pool of the hotel (the rooftop pool is) but it is underrated. The difference is that kids are allowed at this pool. Not the biggest deal for me but for some it is. They have plenty of chairs facing both the pool and the beach. My preference is facing the beach. You can have a perfect view and a nice drink. They have umbrella's for every set of chairs if you need shade. The service is on point here too. So many good drinks and food. The server and other staff were attentive and so friendly. Definitely an amazingly relaxing luxurious time. I will be back. read more

Whoa. When they talk about Miami living, this is it. Located at the 1 Hotel in Miami Beach, this bar/restaurant is a show stopper. First of all, lets talk about the vibe. The music appeals to all age groups and is played at a mellow volume. The pool is large enough to accommodate all guests without being overwhelming. The guests themselves are "doing their own thing". We walked onto a music video set. You've got the swimmers, the eaters, the photographers, the models....and then there's us: the drinkers. Everything about this place is fabulous. Complimentary towel service, our own access card, and cabana/lounge chair availability are just a few of the perks. The menu is pretty limited. The majority of the offerings are healthy (chilled watermelon, fruit bowl, octopus, etc...). They have 3-4 burgers including a $19 veggie option. We took the safe, fatty route. An order of $12 truffle fries. Definitely over-priced. We spent $45 on 2 beers (on draft) and a well drink. The bar was packed! While this place is exclusive & conveniently located near Lincoln Road, it is pricey and over populated. read more

Checked into this hotel last night and booked a king room with a balcony. The balcony looked over a drain system full of cigarettes. I called to request a room change and 45 minutes later received a call stating there was nothing that could be done. During the night I was constantly woken from my sleep from the door of the linen closet that was next door. In the morning I went down to explain the situation and was told they were "150% sold out" which of course us yelpers know, is impossible unless they overbooked by 50%. I had to then explain that our same room was available on the website and while I never saw or spoke to the manager, the woman at the front desk came back and said they managed to find us a room... So funny how that happens, not to mention insulting. My boyfriend and I moved, our bags never followed so we had to go and get them ourselves. The majority of the staff in this hotel are extremely rude and act as if they are doing you a favor by providing less than mediocre service. The attitude is obnoxious and everything takes forever. Drinks, meals, bags, literally everything that should take 5 to 15 minutes takes twice that. The people at the beach are awesome. Super nice and very helpful. It's a pretty hotel but there are a million other better options. My advice, stay at the Lowes, Ritz Carlton, W or J.W because this place just isn't worth the poor treatment. read more

The only thing I'd say about this hotel is that the hotel is amazing! The hotel opened six months ago before we got here，everything here is just so stylish, clean and high quality! They use Tesla as the shuttle to take customers to everywhere within 3 miles around the hotel! The rooftop and the swimming pool on the 3rd floor are both fantastic! Not to mention the rooms! The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. As soon as you walk in you are transported to an eco naturalist haven. Everything is modern but environmentally conscience. The customer service was nice but my friends and I found that it took wayyyyy too long to get certain things we would asked for (food, drinks etc). The elevators are an interesting concept, there aren't any buttons in the inside however it is controlled by an outside digital panel. We experienced that it could get confusing at times. However, the pools are beautiful and relaxing. The cabanas are great, of course, if you want a cabana you need to pay extra but its worth getting for a day just to experience it. It was very nice that the hotel offered free fresh fruit daily, and all the staff seemed very professional and more then willing to help. Overall, it's a good hotel, it's still in its young stage considering it just opened this year. However, I am certain they will fix these minor glitches and become outstanding. read more

We've been to Miami a bunch of times and never quite found our place, but 1 Hotel might be it! Great easy location by the beach boardwalk and great restaurants/bars. Huge rooms by South Beach standards. We stayed in the King one bedroom with balcony, and it was almost too much space! The in-room cellphone phones to contact, text, and make service requests was amazing. Complimentary Tesla rides to your destination was so convenient. Rooftop yoga was a great way to relax and enjoy a mellow workout. Daily farm fresh produce/fruit/juices? Sold! All the pools are amazing, but the rooftop by far had the best atmosphere for adults to just enjoy. Drinks and food were great, despite its pricey consequences. read more

Best experience in Miami!!!! My sisters and I loved this hotel!!!!!! Room are huge, gorgeous, and zen. While the pool and beach is spectacular - I ended up spending most of the time in the room as weather was so-so and I was happy chilling in the room. I also made good use of the gym and the daily workout classes offered with Cassidy! I took both the 9am burn and 10am circuit - which are challenging and fun! The 45 mins flew by and I can feel my abs after! I also did the Sunday rooftop yoga as well- and highly recommend the high quality workout to all!! I can't wait until the Spartan gym opens..I definitely want to try it out! My only caveat is event communication - as gym workout are 45 mins long and classes are not offered on the weekend; however- the info on the in-room phone and posting by elevator is inaccurate. I went to the gym on the weekend looking for the class...and ended up working out in my own. The facilities are first class so not an issue- but it would have been helpful to have the correct info. read more

Service can be somewhat spotty but unless you are sitting at a table for the food service I believe that is somewhat expected for a pool as I am not sure how they can keep track of everyone to begin with. I only had two meals while staying here and both where the Pescado Torta -- Blackened Local Cobia, Pickled Cabbage, Green Mango, Avocado Spread, Potato Roll. Which, not surprisingly having it twice, I thought was awesome. Yes, keeping things cold can be a challenge -- but it is a pool environment after all and plastic ware is not the most thermal friendly thing in existence. Also pricey and like most of what seems to be the Miami area now the service charge in included. Like one of the main restaurants in the hotel this place is also branded under Chef Tom Colicchio of which I became a fan of since visiting Craftsteak at the MGM in Vegas. read more

I LOVE the ONE Hotel!! I come here at least a month/ year and it is my happy place. The Sandbox was my first disappointment. There were 3 boring salads for around $20 for greens and tomatoes and another $12 for chicken or more for other proteins to add to your salad. 5 of us were hungry but needed to be at hotel because son was going to be catching a flight soon. My son and his girlfriend had Nachos ( chips with what looked like velveeta)and wings, husband had the one "healthy bowl"( which has a mayonaise based sauce and rice but no other grain options. My daughter had the tacos and we mostly had water. I didn''t love the menu options and asked if I could get an Acai bowl from Plnthouse( place off the gym). So my Acai I paid for separately. Somehow the billl for wings, nachos, tacos and bowl with $8 soggy side fries and tap water was $120. Service was fine but not as exceptional as all the other restaurants. Go to the rooftop or Plnthouse or STK (for happy hour) instead. PS...there are a gazillion professional photos of the one Hotel attached to this restaurant.. most are of the rooftop bar/ restaurant and pool or the beach. That is not the Sandbox. The sandbox is at the most crowded kid- friendly( little kids swim in the Jacuzzi) pool not the swanky rooftop. read more

I ordered guacamole and the vegetarian tacos at the Sandbox during my stay at the hotel. The guacamole was nothing special, and not as spicy/flavorful as described by the bartender. I ended up asking for fresh jalapeños on the side which helped a lot. As for the tacos they were mostly just large pieces of peppers and onions, again not very flavorful. Quite disappointing for Miami. My husband had the steak tacos which were over cooked and somewhat bland as well but at least had some fresh cabbage to top it off. Overall the food was disappointing. The service however was very good. The bartenders were very attentive and friendly and made it a point to talk to each person seated at the bar and ask their names. read more

The food was delicious--my favorite was the healthy bowl (chicken, avocado, rice, some sort of sauce). I had it twice during my stay. Both times though, I found it difficult to catch a waiter's attention as oftentimes it seemed you needed to find them in order to be helped. The furniture is nice and continues with the theme at the 1 Hotel of earthy. It has a convenient location of being right next to the pool so that you don't have to venture out too far! The restroom is a single-person restroom... which I find surprising for an entire pool deck and restaurant. read more

We went on a Thursday night so it wasn't too busy but we were able to walk around the pool area and enjoy the amazing Miami weather. Drinks can get steep, but you are pretty much paying for the whole ambiance. I only had drinks this time so cannot comment on the food but the DJ was playing good tunes and it was definitely an evening out of the ordinary. read more

However, for actual service, drinks, and food, I really am at a loss for words. First off, I refuse to drink single malt scotch out of a plastic cup. I don't care if there's a pool or whatever, figure it out. Secondly, we had to flag two different servers down to ask for wasabi/ginger/soy sauce for our sushi. I'll start off my review by saying I'm bias because I work at the SANDBOX pool bar here at the 1 hotel. If you are considering staying here, you should definitely do it! The hotel is brand new and the rooms are beyond gorgeous! The property is quite large and has many things to offer! We have Beachcraft, which is our restaurant ran by chef Tom Colicchio. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this restaurant offers true farm to table meals that will knock your socks off! We also have Tom on Collins which is our lobby bar and offers you the opportunity to drop your car off at the valet and walk right in for a nice speciality cocktail! Ah yes and then there is the sandbox located on the 3rd floor. It is our main pool and grill and offers spectacular cocktails and delicious Mexican inspired dishes! The view is jaw dropping and the atmosphere is one you can relax in and get lost in the scenery! Whenever you're in town or staying at this hotel, come to the sandbox bar and ask for me, Richie! Let's be honest this is a great hotel and one of the best I've stayed at in my life, but while I could harp on about the superb decor, large rooms, great technology and superb artifacts around the place, a few things did irk me that I think the hotel should address. - Nickel and Diming - When you are charging $700 per night for a hotel, don't even think about charging a $25 per night resort fee. Quite frankly this act disgusts me. I know it's common, I know it's because competitors do, but take the high ground. List rooms as $725 and be open. If we can afford $700, we deserve the dignity of transparency. - More Nickel and Diming - I'm paying $700 per night and I can get a lounger for free but it's $20 to rent an umbrella? Are you really extorting sums of money from me to not get sunburned? - Too many staff. A strange comment but there are people everywhere, someone to open a door ( we have machines that do that), endless hellos. The staff are great and super friendly, but come on, this feels like a job creation scheme, I can do things myself. read more

Stayed 4 nights. beautiful hotel. Great fitness facility. Friendly and helpful staff but lots of new opening kinks to be worked out. Never restocked certain items we wanted in mini-bar despite 3 requests over 3 days. Room service was erratic -had to call twice then got wrong order -high tech "Google phone" stopped working which is a problem since it controls room service -room temp etc. elevators didn't always work. Multiple false fire alarms Room above ours leaked large amounts of water into our bathroom right over the toilet which as you might guess made it difficult to use the toilet unless we wanted to take a shower while taking a "number-2". After they turned off the water in room above us they told us it would eventually stop leaking into our bathroom. not very helpful if we needed to use the toilet before then. Went here the other night for a quick bite to eat, a drink, but mainly the view. The view is very beautiful and probably the best thing about the rooftop lounge area. The hotel itself is very nice and resembles a forest or nature ? It smells like woods inside. The service was extremely slow on the rooftop and we had to search for the waitress everytime we needed anything. She forgot some of the drinks and didn't acknowledge when more guest joined our party. It was a very slow evening so we found it odd that we were forgotten. The food was extremely pricy for small portion. Super small portions. The food was good, but not the greatest for the $$$$. The drinks are very small as well for the price. Gratuity was included on the check as well. At the end the server messed up our split check. Maybe she's not good at math? Over charged our check 40$? I don't know how when the entire check was $160, she authorized $200 worth of charges? Afterwards she fixed it, but still. Long process and we had to search for her again. Probably will be back for a drink, but not food for the pricing and not visiting anytime soon. read more

One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Spent the weekend there for a friend's birthday and I can't stop raving about it. The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful and the service was impeccable. Everyone at the front desk, pools, and restaurants were attentive, personable and warm. During our stay we stopped at the Deleon, Mondarin, and SLS and none of them could compare. We only stayed one short night; 1 Hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff is gracious, genuinely kind and accommodating. We are celebrating our recent anniversary and were given a beautiful room with a view of the ocean. Imagine our surprise when Jennifer Cadet sent a fabulous sparkling Pinot Gris to our room. How sweet & unexpected. Green, green to the point of making me want to be more green in my life! we loved the iphone control for pretty much everything. Large spacious rooms and soothing décor. It was lousy weather yet it didn't stop us from wrapping ourselves in fluffy towels at the pool deck and getting delicious drinks! We did have lunch on Sunday at Beachcraft, Tom Colicchio's restaurant the hotel. We enjoyed the fava bean/whipped ricotta flatbread pizza - delicious. Lots of labor with those beans! The only disappointment was the pitcher of Bloody Marys. It was lacking in flavor, wasn't stirred up when received in its plastic carafe and it serves four. Barely. I asked for & received some Worcestshire to give it some flavor; there was only Tabasco for a hot sauce so I passed. I am sure the juice was fresh yet it was really a dull Bloody...and for $45...to the GM's credit, he did stop by and we praised the food and mentioned the Bloody Mary. He truly appreciated our comments. I believe reviewers do Yelp a disservice if they don't mention concerns to management. They are all too happy to complain but back off if a manager comes by and they have an opportunity to voice their concerns. Ok...off the soapbox. This is supposed to be about our wonderful stay! This new hotel sets a new standard in South Beach. Great concept with big clean rooms! Very nice modern decor and location. The beds are comfy, but not a fan of the pillows. Room service menu is lacking. Only gripe are the rates being so high, especially in season. Either way, I strongly recommend this hotel. Especially in March and springtime. The decor in the lobby was great. The valet was fast considering how many people were asking for their cars. We went for a summer soirée hosted by Grey Goose. It took place in the pool area right next to the beach. There was an outdoor bar and a few cabanas under the stars. Grey Goose put on a great event. Delicious sushi. It's a bit overpriced, but the quality of the fish is amazing. They had a wonderful selection of sake, cocktails, and an aromatic jasmine tea. Try the bonobo boom boom juice ($18): a mix of tequila, sake, and lime. I recommend the spicy salmon roll ($15) and ikura. I was not a fan of the karma virtue chickenots. They were a bit too deep-fried and breaded. read more
