There was a situation today at the pool, but it was handled in the most professional and safest possible way to not alarm the public. Both the FDA and CDC were used to perfection during the situation, and in the end me and my family were able to enjoy our stay at the pool, while also eating great food. Me and my family had an amazing time at the pool, and the service at Blue Water Cafe was a big part of the reason why, so I would highly recommended to check it out when you are visiting the pool. read more

This small Restaurant/Bar located at the fifth floor between the pool and the best view of the hotel, is a hiding jewelry. They have a nice small plates menu at a reasonable prices, they even have a (good) size Churrasco for $14 and 3 different salads to which you can add chicken or Mahi-Mahi! Their Mojitos are really good and the services of Juan Carlos is on point, either suggesting what to eat, what to drink taking pictures, you name it, he's is always available with a smile! I have 2 suggestions, the first one is the super loud music they play on Friday nights, they called it "Salsa Night" and it totally destroy the tranquility, nice view and romantic gateway of guests. They should play Jazz or nothing at all. The other suggestion will be to open for breakfast, with that unparalleled view, I cannot imagine myself having an early breakfast there! read more

GORGEOUS rooftop restaurant on top of the InterContinental Miami. At here at a private event so I cannot speak outside of that. But not only was the food amazing, but the views were breathtaking. Very small, long (than wide) restaurant with beautiful views. Such a romantic and intimate place to eat for sure (if that's what you're looking for). I'd definitely come back here that's for sure! It was about 2:30 pm on a Monday, obviously during a slow time and shift change. I sat outside at the bar and it was VERY windy. I wouldn't sit outside next time unless the wind was more tame. It seems like a great place to relax and have snacks by the pool. I had a three cheese panini with a side Caesar salad. The panini was just what I needed. There wasn't too much bread and it was easy to bite through without leaving a lot of crumbs all over the place. It was super cheesy and the pesto was nice. It could have been melted just a bit more, though. The salad was covered in a creamy Caesar dressing. I liked it that way, but if you prefer a lighter dressing you should let them know. The service was friendly. I would definitely visit again. read more

Just sat down. Bartender not the friendliest but no biggie. Seemed to be agitated that I had a free drink ticket and asked what's in his well like I'm supposed to know. Yes, I know Ketel One is an upsell that's why I like it (top shelf). Vodka and cranberry juice taste like water. Simple fare on offer here (pizzas and salads) but with a spectacular panoramic view of the Port of Miami, Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. This absolute gem is located on the Pool/Spa level of the Intercontinental Hotel in Downtown Miami. On one side you have the sumptuous pool deck, on the other your ocean view. Ordered the Bianca Pizza which is a flatbread with lots and lots of prosciutto, freshly chopped tomatoes, olives and arugula. The bread was deliciously crisp and the flavors just melted together perfectly. While waiting we were brought a basket with a selection of fresh warm bread and had olive oil plates prepared for us for dipping. Service was excellent, friendly and fast which is important when working with a one hour lunchtime window. Definitely a place to bring out of town guests for a very impressive quick fresh lunch if you are in the downtown area, but be forewarned, the opening hours are SHORT: from noon - 3p.m. Monday - Sunday for food and from 11:30 a.m. - 6p.m. for the bar. read more

We stayed at the Inter Continental Hotel the night b4 our 8 day southern Caribbean cruise. Heard about Salsa Night (6-10 every Friday night), and thought we'd check it out. Very happy we did. The Blue Water Cafe is located by the rooftop pool. Entrance is thru the spa. It was a picturesque evening. The weather was perfect, the music was awesome, and the food & drinks were gr8. What a way to start a vacation. We had a wonderful server, Xavier, who was friendly, helpful & fun! Wish we were down here again since it's Friday night! This place is hiding, you have to know it is here to find it. So after experiencing them for the first time for a business lunch I decide to don't keep it secret anymore:) You have to pass by the spa of the intercontinental to go on the pool area and here it is the restaurant is tiny and facing the bay. The view is gorgeous it is very calm and it is very relaxing. I took a Greek salad and I add some shrimp. The presentation was nice and clean the salad was good. Nothing crazy but good for affordable price. Plus if you have a businessmeeting it is really awesome because if you go on the left of the restaurant you have 2 outside table who will gives u a lot of privacy. I will definitively go back there but maybe I will get some time to try also the spa the next time... read more

Most expensive food on the menu is $18 which is make your own pizza. So fairly inexpensive and you get the view of the Biscayne Bay and pool. Great place there are tables just outside which is good if you want to smoke. read more

Stopped here kind of by accident, well actually to charge my EV at the Hotel Intercontinental. I was so pleasantly surprised. First, the view is remarkable! Second, the service we got was top notch (ask for Clint). Clint was so helpful, we had our children with us and he was as good as they get! Last, our food and drinks were darn good. Our flight to the Caribbean was cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew and we were stranded in Miami for 24 hours. As an IHG Platinum member I brought our group to the Intercontinental. After viewing the menus of local eateries, we decided to grab a quick lunch at the pool bar, take a nap and find a good dinner spot. About 7 hours later, we were still at Blue Water, ate lunch, drank them out of some rum and ordered dinner. I don't have the staff names accessible, but those working Thur Sep 29 were amazing, engaging and entertaining. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location for lunch, appetizers, drinks and lunch. read more

For a city on the water Miami has relatively few restaurants with Bay views. Blue Water is an exception and they boast sensational views from this small restaurant on the pool deck of the Intercontinental Hotel. The food is quite good and not exorbitantly priced as many Miami Hotel restaurants are. It's quite casual, service is always friendly (shout out to Clint, one of the friendliest servers in this city.). The menu is limited which is the only reason to give it four and not five stars. But you'll still be able to find something appealing. They also have a very good happy hour but be sure to specify that you are asking for the happy hour drinks, a friend of mine went for $5 wine but didn't specify and he received a surprise on his bill for I think $15 (manager kindly adjusted due to the misunderstanding.) Also note that service fee has been added to the bill already which I certainly hope actually lands in the pockets of the servers. So for good casual fare and fabulous views, Blue Water would be a good choice. read more

The view was great and I was happy to land here for lunch after a long flight and quick check-in. The Cubano sandwich was very good and the berry Mojito was excellent, fresh and refreshing. Service was good. I would have liked to have seen more attention to putting down a cloth napkin or table setting - but this was poolside dining - yet it is the Intercontinental so I kind of was disappointed at the presentation as my table wasn't wiped down prior and there were cigarette butts near the fence perimeter to that stellar slice of ocean view. A deducted a point for that because really - that was a shame not to have the area completely clean, especially with the $25 resort fee. read more

We practically had the place to ourselves for a late afternoon snack. The food was very good and presented nicely. The waiter was warm and friendly. Amazing view, we went to have lunch with my colleagues, the place has a beautiful view of Biscayne Bay and a very nice ambiance, food is american food (pizzas, salads and subs) but we were amazed by the service. I regret we did not ask for the name if the guy who helped us get out of the restaurants in the middle of a terrible rain fall, we were all dressed for work and when we finished having lunch, it started pouring rain, we asked if they had an umbrella to cross back to the hotel and as they did not, a guy who works at the hotel came with one of the huge umbrellas from the pool ( one from the tables to protect from the sun) and walked us back!!! That was amazing, I hope he gets recognition for a WOW service experience! read more

It was not the best experience but Ryan the manager handled it well. Just for the bread it took over 20 min, the chips and salsa took just as long, and our pizza order was wrong despite waiting so long. Our meal was comp'd and we received an apology. 5 stars for handling the situation like is should be dealt. read more
