Bartender recommended an awesome watermelon drink but then once the crowds started coming the DJ started playing his music which I lucked out on my credits for the touch tunes machine . Bartender was on her phone a lot, while serving customers. I don't know about you but being on your phone at your place of work is a no-no & really unprofessional while dealing with patrons. I am extremely disappointed with how things went down on New Year's Eve at this bar. I have never gone to this bar previously but I was interested in going since I had seen some other people have an enjoyable time at this place. We paid a little over $23 for two tickets for the New Year's eve event. When we first arrived, there was someone who may or may not have been a security guard that was checking tickets and IDs. He told my boyfriend who was wearing a very nice namebrand quarter zip jacket and namebrand sporty shoes that he will need to go back home and change into a button up and nicer shoes. We were a little confused since the advertisement for the New Year's eve party did not state anything about a dress code. It also wasn't on the tickets or on their website or on the email that was sent to us as ticket confirmation. 40 minutes later when we arrived and were let inside of the bar there was Mexican music playing. On Instagram someone had asked the bar a question about what kind of music would be played. Whoever was running the Instagram page stated that they would be playing hip-hop Latin and Reggaeton. When we arrived there there was Mexican music playing. We stayed for a few minutes to see if the song genre would change. It seemed like the DJ was just catering to a majority of the crowd rather than playing a mixture of genre of music. I'm not sure if this bar is always playing Latin music but we were pretty disappointed since we were expecting a different vibe. We ended up leaving before midnight. I checked back on the Rusty nail Instagram page later that night to see how the rest of the New Year's Eve party went. They were playing Mexican music all night long. I'm not sure if they played any hip-hop at all. Even the countdown to midnight was in Spanish. I would recommend for the management to be more transparent about the dress code since it was not stated anywhere for their New Year's eve event. I would also recommend for them to not state that they will be playing a certain genre of music when in reality the vibe of the entire event was something completely different and uncalled for. I'm sad that I had to lose out on my money but most importantly I am disappointed that we had to go back-and-forth for the outfit change only to leave the bar before midnight. What a waste of time!!! Went there to see a band but they decided to have a "cover band " play instead WHO SUCKED 100% waste of time

Have been here a total of 3 times (today being the third) previous times have been good but have to leave a bad review upon getting the party started and a security guard rudely telling me "don't push the chair to the middle of the dance floor". I only pushed it aside (next to me w my foot as to minimize contact as I'm literally the only one wearing a mask/being covid concise). I don't appreciate being told off as I'm the only person following indoor "guidelines". My review stands. One of the bartenders also completely ignored me as my only request was water and didn't gain him anything as is wasn't charged or tipped. The Rusty Nail is definitely a breath of fresh air for the small town of Ceres. This place is a fun place to meet up with friends and coworkers to wind down after a long day at work, or to go out on a Friday or Saturday night when Modesto or Turlock seems like it is too far away. The drinks are delicious and the music is usually always on point. My only suggestion for the place would be to expand and put in another bar because it gets really packed in there and the wait time for a drink can be a while sometimes, but hey that means they are doing something right if everyone wants to go. Anyway stop in sometime and try one of their epically delicious Bloody Mary, these are to die for! I will definitely be going back in for another one soon. read more

Went in for drinks with my wife on Saturday night after dinner. We were blown away by the how great it looks and the atmosphere of the place. There was a band playing, people were dancing and having fun! I had a few beers and my wife had a couple cocktails, their bartenders are making legitimate handcrafted cocktails. I am a former server btw and reviewing daytime experiences. The first time my husband and I went there, it was just after the new opening and we met the owner. He was bartending and very nice. The place has some awesome western designer touches, is very clean, plenty of TV and a cool jukebox. The second time was uneventful, as there were two bartender ladies but they seemed more focused on their side work rather than serving up drinks. Very busy behind the bar with chores, not much customer service. However, the most recent time we stopped in, our bartender was busy behind the bar with side work, but also very attentive to her customers. I asked her name, she replied Carla. Such a hard worker, knows how to upsell, and makes great conversation. While I love my traditional Tito's and soda, she recommended their mango michelada. YUM! We have been here a few times and had a great time but tonight was horrible! My husband had a hat on and unfortunately he wasn't able to wear the hat in but other guys that had fedoras on is ok. When my husband was asked to take his hat off he did and but the bouncer began to argue with us. The bouncer that had braids told us that we were "dumb" and didn't know what what we were doing. I then asked for the manager and they told me to go to bar which I did. I explained the situation to the "manager" but when we left the guy was still at the door that was disrespectful!
