I really enjoyed the corn dogs I just had. I think the prices are very reasonable. Thought I needed 2 but one would have been plenty. Unique menu - Hot Rusty was super good. Other corn dog trucks in Boise...I think Rusty Dog is better.

Shish-ka-dog. Alternating bites of hot dog and Colby jack cheese.

This corn dog truck was in my apartment complex today. I decided to go to them because they are a small business and it's the time to support them. I'm not much of a corn dog fan. Let me tell you, I am so glad that I stopped by and got a corn dog. I got the Shish-ka-dog. The batter was crispy, warm, sweet and savory. Tasted almost like a corn bread. I ate it on less than two minutes. No regerts. The guy inside was super nice also. He thanked me for stopping at his food truck. I should have thanked him for what he was doing. We need small businesses and we definitely need to support them. I would go to this food truck again if I saw it.

Fair food is great. You can't deny it. Well, I guess you can, and I'd like to have a chat if you do. Anywho, most people I know love fair food. I go to the fair not for the shows, not for the rides, sometimes for the animals, but always the food. But fairs are only at certain times of the year, and thanks to COVID none of us will be attending Western Idaho Fair in 2020. What if I told you you could still get your fair food fix? More specifically, your deep fried, salty, crunchy fair food corn dog fix? WELL YOU CAN! The Rusty Dog is an Idaho-born food truck serving the Treasury Valley fresh hot corn dogs throughout the year. In addition to a classic fair-style corn dog (Rusty Dog, $6) they offer several other innovated varieties. A personal favorite is the Hot Rusty ($7). It's a cut up polish sausage dog (high quality) dipped in their delicious homemade batter, topped with pieces of jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and drizzled in hot honey. Oh my goodness the first bite into this was truly spectacular! It took me right back to when I first remembered my first corn dog. I am lover of spicy foods, so the jalapeños were an excellent addition. And who doesn't love cream cheese?! I also got a side order of hand cut fries (only $3) and was delighted to see how generous the portion was. The best part: I got this in the beginning of May! Fair food without having to wait! The person running the truck this day was a very nice gentleman I assume was the food truck owner. He was incredibly friendly! Make sure to leave a good tip. ***I highly recommend downloading the Street Food Finder app to keep track of when and where you can find them!

Great dogs and friendly people. What you get is the big fair experience without the high prices and the flies . Highly recommended.

Overall pretty good! Highly recommend their cheese dogs. Pass on the fries. Even fresh off the fryer they were soggy.

Very tasty, but need to change fryer oil! Unless it's normal, everything I order my food looks burnt.

The burger and fries are the closest thing to heaven I've ever had, and you won't want to miss them right now. I honestly don't know how they do it. Note, that this means this is the best burger in the state, it is the best burger in comparison to any in California or any other surrounding state. There was not a bad bite. It is as if Jesus has blessed the chef and your taste buds, it is a literal masterpiece. Everything is made with care, you will experience euphoria and what a burger made with care actually tastes like. Juds, Big Bun, the new In N' Out Burger, are good in their own respect, but not even the same echelon as Hood Burger. Hood Burger is on top of the pyramid, everything else is just ok. Everything is made to perfection. I am not sure if it is because they are in a food truck and not an upscale restaurant, but these guys truly care about their product. If you want a cheap burger with the typical result go to one of the other local places, if you want the best burger for around $15 go now.
