I've been wanting to try The Rustik Fork for some time now. I came with my husband and we both ordered burgers (Drunken Goat and Bacon Bourbon). We both thought the burgers had great flavor and were cooked perfectly. The fries are not anything special, but I did enjoy the ketchup. A bit on the pricey side ($50 for two burgers and a cider plus tip) but well thought out food and nice ambiance. We will be back. read more

So many friends have mentioned the Rustik Fork, and I finally had the chance to go today! Fun ambiance, prompt and professional service, and the food was the best I've had in a long, long time. We had the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer, and the flavor/texture made me realize that Brussel sprouts are actually really delicious when prepared properly. Had dinner here for the first time. It was an early dinner so we were seated as soon as we walked in. The place has a unique layout and design, liked it. Ordered a Drunken Goat Burger Quinoa bowl and the my wife had the Short Ribs. The Quinoa bowl was awesome, Natalie forgot to order the service sude of avocado. She brought it over as soon as I told her about it. My wife's short ribs were chewy, but the pumpkin purée and cabbage was delicious. The prices are a bit high. This place is a hidden gem near the Mission Grove area of Riverside. First, it has a really cool ambiance to it. Second, the hostess and servers were very nice. Lastly, the food was delicious. We started with the jackfruit tinga tacos... Yummy !!! I ordered the bourbon bacon jam burger and my hubby order the salmon with quinoa (it was on special); both were really delicious! For dessert we had the cream brulee... The carmelized sugar was slightly burnt but the rest tasted good. For drinks I had the kombucha flight (which is non-alcoholic btw) and my hubby had a glass of the alcoholic kombucha... It's was all very tasty! They are selling you a food with bad quality like their Cauliflower steaks which was roasted inside a burned oil for an unbelievable price. I definitely will notify the public health department in Riverside about their waiter touching/ checking the buns for hamburgers with her hands. To answer the rustic fork's comment: I shop and eat in whole Foods Market so please don't talk to me about eating organic since you used a burned oil to cook food for your customers. I'm so sorry Rustik Fork, your place is adorable and your servers and chef so sweet, but your food (at least what I tried) was just not yummy nor was the experience or food a good value. Started with some drinks: the selection of beers on tap is ok but the pours are teeny (probably 14oz?). The peanut butter wings: for 13 bucks you get 5 scrawny wings with some watery peanut butter and jelly slathered on them and a little squirt of sriracha around the plate. Not. Good. At. All. After my friends tried them I only ate the rest because I hated to waste them. Brussels sprouts: innovative but just a B+. The $25 meatloaf didn't have much flavor and the sad amount of mashed potatoes beneath it was, well, sad. (And the yolk on what appeared to be a sunny side up egg on top was totally cooked which is blasphemy if you ask me.) I am a meatloaf aficionado so this dish was extra disappointing. Our two $18 burgers were mediocre and not juicy; though the custom stamped buns were super cute, they didn't enhance the burgers at all, as they were not grilled or steamed at all, making the burger basically cold (well, the patty was cold too but I sent it back and they kindly remade it- the bun was still cold though). The other meal in our party of 4 was some kind of meat but I forgot to ask him how it was. My only observation was that it looked really small. I'm totally fine with European portions but really then the plates should be smaller too. They always say that the worst thing is a customer who is disappointed and says nothing so we made sure to bring our concerns to our server's attention and she was very kind and apologetic. The sous chef even came out to apologize as well. I probably would not have even written a review had it not been for the fact that the server told us she called the manager by phone (as she had gone home), which was very nice but the fact that the manager's response was oh no, I'm really sorry... and that's it... was a little insulting. How about like "here's my card and if you give us another try we'll buy you a round of drinks? Or maybe here's 10% off your bill? Or perhaps we can take the gross wings that you felt forced to gluttonize yourself with off your bill?" Or basically anything! This is literally the worst, most fragmented review I have ever written so I apologize to those reading this, but I just felt like I had to write something- not so people don't come here but so that hopefully the RF management can work on their managing and deal with future patrons' displeasure in a more constructive fashion. Organic and grassfed food is something that we value. It has been very hard to find a local restaurants that has the food that we choose to eat. We found Rustic Fork and were excited to enjoy a meal that we didn't cook. The food far exceeded our expectations, however that's not what made the experience. The experience tonight was the best customer service that we have had in a long time. Fred was our server and what blew us away is that when my dinner arrived, he walked up after with my fork. It is great to have someone think of what the customer needs and not have to ask. We had silverware but we had a starter and sent our forks with the plate. The other notable service was that we really didn't have to ask for anything, the staff looked to fill our needs before we realized we needed it. It was great to have the Rustic Fork staff place an emphasis on delivering a good customer experience. I feel that customer service has been lost by many establishments. The quality of the food exceeded our expectations and the Brussels sprouts were amazing. We are now loyal customers. read more

The cauliflower stake was not worth it; actually kind of burned with a taste of the very cheap oil and the wine was not served in with a regular glass and it was so little that I thought it was sample and kind of expensive. The hamburger was too expensive and came out with badly burned buns, burned patty. I asked for tomatoes; they didn't have. I returned the hamburger and didn't eat any part of it.The manager charged me even when I didn't eat any part of it. They argued with me why the burger is burned- I noticed one guy was rude and they were insensitive to the needs of customers. Eventually they returned my money. They lost a good customer. read more

We ordered the Brussel Sprouts and the Village Bakery Bread for appetizers - both outstanding. For mains I got the Truffle Burger and my husband chose the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. The burger was probably the best burger I have ever had! He also loved his choice. You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients. I love the atmosphere here; cute modern farmhouse. This was my second visit after a busy opening week meal of their delicious cauliflower tacos. Thank goodness the a/c is working better and there are even more a/c improvements planned. We were asked if we wanted to sit at community table or not. We wanted a romantic dinner so picked our own table. We had no wait on a Wednesday at 6:30, but people kept streaming in. It is a bit loud with chatter, but I like that they don't blare music, like CPK and we can hear the server and each other. We started with white wine; about a 4 oz pour. I definitely needed a second glass so I loved that they had servers always checking if we needed anything. We ordered the Three Pigs (pork wrapped chorizo), which my husband loved. It was tasty, hot and just the right portion . (We don't like massive servings) I had the Vegan, Gluten Free Chili Relleno. It was half a spicy chili, stuffed with plenty of jackfruit and a garnish of cashew-avocado cream I love that Riverside now has a non-chain restaurant my husband and I can both enjoy with meat, vegan and gluten free options and top notch presentation. Came here to celebrate a birthday. I found this place on yelp and the reviews looked good as did the pictures. Overall though, we were disappointed. Let me explain- #The Wait- I called earlier in the week to ask about their average wait time on a Saturday night around 6:30pm and they told me an hour but that they could also do call ahead seating for me. They said, this way they could get started on my table and my wait wouldn't be so long. So Saturday night I called at 5:50 and told them my party of 6 was coming and arriving at 6:30. Well, we still waited OVER an hour! VERY Frustrating. I tried to be proactive. Why do call ahead seating if it's not going to change the wait time??? Honestly, I feel like the hostess didn't even put us on their waitlist till we actually arrived. It was annoying to have to wait an hour when I tried to avoid that. We had a small child with us so waiting for an hour is not ideal. #Food- it was okay. The menu presents really intriguing dishes with different flavors. I like their farm to table concept and their ingredients seem fresh. However, the dishes are overpriced for what you get. For example, most of our dishes had sides like mashed potatoes and vegetables and it was like they put a smear of potatoes on the plate and garnished with zucchini and charged you $30! I got the 3 Little pigs entree and my pork loins were the size of breakfast sausage links. Super small. Two other guests in my party got chicken fried steak. It was good but had hardly any gravy on it and they both wanted double the gravy. They asked for more and were told the kitchen had ran out of gravy. How do you run out of gravy? #Service- this was somewhat of a redeemable point. The hostess kept apologizing for the wait. But honestly, if she had done the call ahead seating correctly she wouldn't have found herself with a waiting room of large parties. But at least she was nice. Our server was also nice. Tried to use humor about the wait. At times he was a little patronizing but overall nice. My brother's dish was dropped on the floor as they were bringing it out so they rushed the second order and also comp'd us French fries. Good move there. ***Note***they don't do anything for birthdays. I get it but at the same time I feel like restaurants could find inexpensive ways to still treat the birthday person. You don't need to comp a dessert for the whole table but at least honor the guest. We did just come to your restaurant to eat. Overall, I wasn't that impressed. I was REALLY hoping this place would be amazing. Again, the menu items read really intriguing but they fall short and don't hold up to their written luster. The best dish was the brussel sprouts but you can get those just about anywhere now. It also was really noisy inside. My friend's Apple Watch kept giving us warnings that the decibels were at a deafening level! If the prices come down and they change their interior layout maybe I'll try them again. read more

She said we could try back on Tuesday. Not a great start for a new restaurant. There was a party of people that walked in behind us as well & were told the same thing. We all walked out in disbelief. We all wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but don't want to take the chance of driving all the way out & turned away again. I believe the proper thing to have done was the manager and or owner to be greeting these guests that were turned away & apologize & offer us an appetizer or discount meal on a return visit. Since we are following a keto way of eating I wanted to see how it was made. Delicious. Our orders were a Rustic Fork bowl, Rustic Fork burger, Chipotle burger, and a Super Food bowl. Food was prepared perfectly for us. The burgers were med rare, the brioche buns were toasted, and the fries super crispy and seasoned well. Definitely will be coming here again. Our server was experienced, friendly, and attentive. The executive chef monitored every plate as it came out. I saw him look at what was my plate, too the top bun off and gave it back to cook. To their credit they did replace it for us with another avocado toast but with end pieces of a loaf and even harder avocado. I think the cherry on top was the so called Tamale Bowl. More like oatmeal bowl with extra pepper. Writing this review my tongue is still burning from the amount of pepper they added to this bowl. Tasted nothing like like a tamale and was so soggy. Our server was great, about 5-6 couples in the shop and it still took about 40-45 minutes for an order to arrive to our table for two. I saw my girlfriend taco order sit in the window getting cold. I watched her meal sit in the window for 8-9 minutes. I watched the two men (line cooks) with beards and no hair net protection, eating on the food line, joking along with each other and staff. Then behind the smoothie counter, a few more staff eating and snacking as well. Food wise, the Brussel sprouts were pretty good but like the rest of the menu was well overpriced for what I was getting and tasting. I ordered the meatloaf and it was 100% bland. WOW!!! This is a shake the Chefs hand kind of place. We need more restaurants like this. My wife and I have been waiting for this place to open because it says wild caught, grass fed, organic locally farmed produce all over the windows. If you eat food with these kind of standards then you know how hard it is to find a restaurant serving it fresh. We buy the best of the best when we grocery shop so needless to say we travel for that too. You can understand now why I am so excited. Best salmon I have ever had. I honestly didn't think food this healthy could taste this amazing. The Shishito peppers were perfect. The restaurant is really clean with a rustic farm kind of ambiance. Ran by a husband and wife team that were consistently greeting everyone. Their excitement of their food made more sense when she mentioned she is a nutritionist. Came in for dinner with a fairly large group despite the restaurant being small we were accommodated. Jamie, our server, was fantastic! The inside is small but beautifully decorated. The menu is extensive with variety making it easy for everyone to find something for them and all of the dishes are carefully made and plated. I ordered one of their quinoa bowls with the Beyond Meat. The bowl was delicious, with the Beyond Meat being one of the best ones I've had. My only criticism would be the lack of greens in the bowl. All of the flavors complemented each other but my bowl only came with two small pieces of lettuce. Regardless I highly recommend trying this place out. read more
