Great burgers, great drinks, and fantastic service. Ambiance is casual and nice. They just need to have fries on the menu!!! Our server Marjorie R was so attentive and accommodating, she went out of her way to make sure we were all happy. I would absolutely recommend! read more

Our family dined at The Rustic for the first time before the Chris Stapleton concert at Minute Maid Stadium. From the time we walked in, we loved the atmosphere and we were seated promptly. The menu was very diverse and they offered great specials on appetizers and drinks. Our food came quickly and it was delicious!! They also had live music outside on the stage, yet they had speakers playing it inside, so that we could still enjoy the live music. This place is definitely a must stop if you're in the downtown area and we will be back! It's perfectly located for downtown activities and the food was amazing! read more

So this place is amazing in the inside. Parking was a pain due to lack of parking and the staff outside are a little disorganized. So we get there and that had live music. We sat down and waited almost 30 mins for someone to take our order. The waitress was good to go he made up for the long wait. "A great attitude goes a long way." We had a party of 8 and the guy was spot on. The food was outstanding and beer was cold and the atmosphere, was excellent! I will definitely visit this place again and recommend it. It was amazing to see the cooks work through the glass windows. I didn't get a sandwich but man, they are generous with the protein and sides! read more

This place is such delight! We had so much fun, and I can't wait to go back. We ordered family tacos which were delicious. The old fashions were well made too. This spot has great decor and ambiance. The live music was a plus. I went for brunch and am glad I came. I got the mimosa carafe ($13!!!) and was given a carafe full of champagne and a small cup of juice to add to it. My kind of mimosa! I decided to do the family style brunch and it truly had some of everything! Perfect portions and variety. I tried all of it except the sausage because I don't eat pork. I liked each of the item! For $17.95 a person you get the bang for your buck. Definitely a place worth visiting read more

A must in Houston! Atmosphere: Definitely my favorite part of this restaurant. This place is large, comfortable, live music on certain days, can't ask for more. Service: We went on a Sunday night and it wasn't busy. However, parking was a little confusing since I won't saw an option for valet, I would recommend parking on the street aside of the restaurant, you'll have 2 free hours to dine. Host and server were great, asked for recommendations and provided what I wanted. Drinks: I ordered the Texican Candy and it was delicious, would definitely order again. If your enjoy a flavorful cocktail, this is it. Food: I ordered The Texas Hot Chicken & Cheese with fries and it was great, but it was definitely missing a sauce, could be better. My wife ordered the Texas Cheesesteak with Mac and cheese and it was great as well, had flavor and we enjoyed it. Mac and cheese was too dry for my liking but it was okay. Dessert: We had a banana pudding and it was great but too much for 2 people. It would've been nice to have a smaller portion option. Verdict: If you're visiting Houston, please come, especially when they have live music, it definitely makes the visit much better. The food could be better but it's still very good, love the cocktails and I would definitely come back on my next Houston trip! read more

Great ambience plus the live music made it especially festive. Recommend going on the weekend for the brunch.

Wow! This was our first time visiting The Rustic. (We have driven by numerous times, always thinking "Wow, that place looks so cool." We came here on a Friday with a group of 10 during "Covid Times". My husband and I honestly had no idea what to expect upon entering. This place is SO UNREAL... A huge open air restaurant/music venue. Very modern, "rustic" decor. Horizontal fencing, large lighted letters, string lights, etc. Our group was seated at a picnic table somewhat near the stage. The music was great but it was pretty loud being that close to the speakers. My husband, who has difficulty projecting his voice, pretty much didn't talk the whole time because he couldn't compete with the music. The food and drinks were AMAZING! I had a margarita on the rocks. My husband was able to get an NA beer (which is sometimes difficult to find when out at a restaurant.) The menu is (somewhat) limited compared to other restaurants BUT I have to say, this allows them to focus on making sure what they DO offer is top notch! Our party started off with the Double Queso ($10.95), the Steakhouse Onion Rings ($10.95) and the Wild Boar meatballs ($9.95). I didn't try the meatballs or the queso. But the chips that came with the queso were delicious and the onion rings... they were so unbelievably good. I want some more right now as I type this at 8am. They have a nice spicy kick to them, thick and crispy. Drool. Might need to make a stop again soon JUST for the onion rings! As for entrees, my husband and I both got the Texas Hot Chicken & Cheese ($14.95). SO GOOD! Definitely something I normally wouldn't gravitate to but decided to "try something new". Others in our party got the Drunk Chick ($18.95), Tamales 3 ways ($14.95), Texas Cheese Steak ($13.95) and the Cedar Plank Salmon ($23.95). EVERYONE greatly enjoyed their meals. Now to RAVE about the service. I have to say, I forgot our server's name but he was SO SO good. So attentive, so helpful, so much attention to detail. I have eaten at fancy restaurants with excellent service and the service here at the Rustic is right up there with the best I've had. Can't wait to come back!!! read more

Ate at the Rustic for lunch. I loved the atmosphere. It was the perfect temperature. Marie was our server and did such an excellent job checking in on us and making sure we did not need anything. Really enjoyed the Rustic with family . It was crowded but they sat us immediately with our reservation. Our server was very attentive and did well quickly bringing our drinks and food. I had the tamale trio and wild boar chilli. Both dishes were good. What I enjoyed more than anything were my old fashions. They were made perfectly. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food and drinks. We will definitely be returning. read more

Met some friends here on a Saturday night - it was PACKED! Very diverse crowd (which I love!) We were seated on the back patio until our entire party arrived and had a few drinks. The frośe was delicious...very refreshing. I don't know the name of the band, but they were ehhhh. Food was basic..nothing to rave about. The chips kinda taste like they were made in old grease. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best..having to shout at my waiter isn't really my thing. read more

The food was great and the service was spectacular because May picked up our table when no one else would. Awesome little spot in downtown. Went here on a Friday night while my teenager was at a Billy Joel concert with a friend. They had a decent live band playing, a great beer selection, and a pretty good menu. My wife and I tried the chips and 2 cheese dip appetizer, chips were freshly fried and the pimento cheese dip was damn good, the queso had just the right spice. For the main course, I had the rustic burger and my wife had a steak. The burger was just the right size and you could tell all the ingredients were super fresh. My wife said that her steak was perfectly cooked. All in all, it was a decent experience. I did knock one star due to the inattentive wait staff. We were there for 2 hours and only saw our waiter 4 times. And they do have free parking available or they will validate one of the nearby parking garages. read more

Great spot for small and large groups. The food was flavorful and delicious. The best Salmon Burger I have ever eaten. A bit on the spicy side for a restaurant but perfect for me. The tamales were delicious, just like someone made them at home, and let me tell you, the quail was to die for. I wasn't impressed with the deviled eggs, but I'm a bit picky about my eggs. I like them sweet, and they are on the more savory side here. My only reason for not giving them a five-star was that our server didn't have a personality. The restaurant /venue was such a happening spot that she just didn't fit the vibe. I will most definitely return to try the beverages. read more

they had a live band when we got there. there was a seating area for those who were interested in the band but we sat in the back instead but the music was still loud enough and you can still hear it in the back. the salad had too much spices which made it tasted salty. had to brush the spices aside to eat the caesar. the burger was good and moist. read more

Hubby and I first time at the rustic My review for the food is 5 starts ,Food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very relaxing and alive 5 starts as well the place is huge and very elegant . We ordered wild boars meat balls , I recommend to try 100% . I ordered CEDAR PLANK SALMON* but my husband ordered TRIPLE CHOP which was Amazing!! I even stop eating my salmon to jump into his plate that's how delicious it was . The service was great but the reason why I will be placing 3 stars instead of 5 is because the waitresses dumped our plate in the trash I barely even touch my salmon that I was planning on taking home, once we brought it up to her , she just apologized for it but didn't offer a new plate for her mistake or anything which was very disappointing to us , food was paid accordingly to what we ordered. We left the restaurant with a bitter sweet feeling . read more

The Rustic is probably one of my new favorite hangout spots. What's there not to like? You got great location, food, and ambiance all wrapped into one! It is located right next to the Toyota Center, which makes for an ideal meet up spot to hang before any event. Parking isn't that great, but I always park at a friend's close by and either walk or Uber in depending on the weather. You always have the option to valet as well. The place is massive inside and out. You like music? Come here for awesome live music and dancing. Customer service is always good in my opinion. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff. On to the food and drinks. The drink menu is pretty extensive and everything I have had has always been tasty. The drinks can be spendy depending on what you get, but I feel the product justifies the price. My personal favorite is the Rimy Rita. Its a frozen concoction of tasty ingredients and then to add wow factor, they add a sangria popsicle. Be careful as these will sneak up on you. I have also had the Kettle & Fizz and the Tito's Lemonade which were just as good as the Rimy. If I'm in a beer or wine mood, they have quite the variety of that as well. When it comes to apps, we can never decide, so we just get a bunch. I've had the chorizo empanadas, cactus fritters, and the 4-napkin onion-y rings. They all are tasty, but there is something special about those onion rings. Hands down the best I have had. The rings are gigantic and breaded to perfection. The seasoned batter has a nice spicy note to it. I crave these things. I have only got an entree here once and it was the center cut ribeye. Ribeye is my favorite cut and they do it well here. What makes it stand out is the ancho-lime butter. Yum! The hand cut fries pair well with the steak and the spicy ketchup is delicious. Come to think of it, all the sauces with all the food items were really good. If you can't tell already, I will definitely be back, over and over again! read more

We went for Sunday Brunch and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Alexandra was our server and did a great job. Attentive but not overwhelmingly so. The brunch is served family style. A charcuterie plate with cheese, strawberries, blackberries, crackers, and 2 muffins. There were 2 slices of French toast made with challah bread and a rosemary infused syrup. 2 pieces of baked eggs, spinach with a nice lite vinaigrette, bacon cheese and jalapeño sausage, hot chicken and cheesy potatoes. I neglected to take pictures of the food as it was presented, but I do have a pic of our To go box. read more

This was a great and fun place. I was in town for a meeting and the mixer was here. All the food we had was wonderful. Drinks were great. Service was spectacular, even with the hundreds of whiny professionals nattering after the waitstaff. Good stuff for certain! Give this one a shot. read more

we had a reservation for my best friends birthday at 7:45, there is so much construction around the building, the uber took 4 turns around the building because he didnt know where to go, i get there at 8:03 and they tell me they gave me a 15 grace period and that the reservation is now canceled and they can put me back on the waitlist but could take up to 1 hour. I look on open table and they have a reservation for 8:30 for 12 people, so i book that. 8:30 rolls around and i go to the host stand to tell them and they told me i had to wait an additional 30 minutes after our 8:30 reservation. we say okay and wait. mind you there is several tables empty at the moment. once we get sat the waitor was great and attentive. my only complaint are the hosts. they were not welcoming at all, were very rude and gave me dirty looks when i was all worried about was my best friends birthday dinner reservation. read more

Title: Lively Venue with a Few Culinary Misses I recently visited The Rustic in Houston and was greeted by an abundance of seating and open space. The atmosphere was vibrant, thanks to the live music that filled the air. The drink selection was impressive, offering a variety of options including a standout like the Galveston Island Tiki Wheat beer, which boasted a light and almost sweet flavor. While the drinks were a hit, I found that the food experience left something to be desired. The trio of tamales unfortunately fell short, being somewhat dry and smaller than expected. The cactus fries, though intriguing, missed the mark due to an uneven breading-to-cactus ratio, resulting in a heavy dish. The redeeming factor was the jalapeño ranch sauce, which added a tasty kick. The brisket burger, however, was a letdown, as it turned out to be dry. The accompanying fries shared the heaviness issue I encountered earlier. Although these culinary missteps were disappointing, the promise of returning for the drinks and live music is certainly alluring. The Rustic's vibrant ambiance and impressive beverage selection make it an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy live entertainment. Overall, while some food items missed the mark in terms of flavor and texture, the combination of ample seating, live music, and a well-curated drink menu create an environment that's worth a visit for a night of entertainment. Side note if you want tacos you have to order two orders at $18 a pop and you can't split one without paying for two. read more
