There were a lot of great things about this venue. The parking lot was super bright and only cost $10 when I went on a Friday night. There was a guy at the parking lot entrance charging $10 and using a card reader, but there was also a sign in the parking lot that said parking was supposed to be $5 and had a pay station, so idk what that's about, but it didn't seem like a major issue. The venue entrance was basically in the parking lot. With someone there to check tickets/charge entrance all night, it felt like the parking lot would be safe since it was basically being monitored by the door people. The outdoor stage had a really nice vibe with lights and cute decor. I went for a specific dj playing on the 2nd floor though, so I went straight there and enjoyed the music. The ac was blasting on the dance floor. Best ac I've ever experienced at a venue. I don't even think I was sweating, which is unheard of. The sound was also the best out of any venue I've been to, but I was standing in the center of the dance floor with the speakers pointed at me from every direction. The sound wasn't as good outside of those speakers, but I don't remember it being bad. The drink I tried was good, strong, not watered down, but a little pricey. I think a whiskey sour was $16 for one of those smallish plastic cups. Service was quick though and I didn't notice long lines at the bar. Now, for the cons. It was really bright at times. I wish I brought sunglasses. The dance floor felt like it was gonna collapse. You could feel it bouncing up and down because of all the people jumping on it. It made me pretty anxious because of how unstable it felt. The people in the crowd can be too much. This can happen anywhere, but it felt like there were more socially unaware people than other venues because it's open later and probably attracts drunk people wanting to party longer than other venues allow. There were a lot more guys than girls. I'd say maybe 80%. Also a lot of tall people the specific night I went lol that made it even harder to see the dj because the dj booth isn't elevated for some reason. I know the ceiling is low, but PLEASE ELEVATE THE DJ BOOTH. People like to look at the dj, but most people couldn't see him. It makes a huge difference, especially if you're paying a lot for a ticket. All in all, though, the cons weren't that bad and the pros were great! This is now one of my favorite venues to see a dj! Place has an underground vibe to it but its not. Mostly because its pretty small and you are up close and personal to the DJs. Venue is clean, bathrooms were clean and modern. They have an outdoor patio which is pretty nice. There is not much around the place, its sort of in the lower south east corner of Downtown. You could probably walk to it if you are in or stay around Discovery green. Not bad for a Houston club. read more

This place could be so good but they have 1 problem : trashy crowd. I've been here many times over the past few years and very very often it's the kind of trashy crowd you dont want to be around. Maybe they should charge more for tickets or something. It's not always trashy, but too often it is. Better to go here on a night that DOESNT have any kind of "free before 11pm" special going on. Pick a night with a higher ticket price to weed out "those people". If not for that 1 issue, this is a good venue, good sound system, lovely space. Real shame about the crowd though. Another good way to skip the ghetto crowd is to get here real early. You'll have the whole dance floor to yourself. Just chill and enjoy the music, then when it gets later and 'the wrong people' start filling the place up you can bounce. read more

Not going to lie, this is probably my favorite dance club in Houston at the moment. It's a cool venue. It's not big, but that's kind of what makes it so cool. Packed or not, the vibe with both the DJs and the crowd feels pretty intimate - like everyone is on the same level, even when it's going off! It has a main room upstairs with a patio that's really nice. The view of downtown from it is actually quite amazing. There's an outdoor area downstairs with a stage that is nice too. The location is pretty ideal as well, IMO. It's on the edge of downtown, just slightly north of Midtown. Logistically, it makes perfect sense, and if you are not walking or ride-sharing, it has a fairly big and well-kept public parking lot contiguous to it. They frequently have big quality names coming through, along with solid local openers that should also be supported. I am looking forward to coming here for more events in the future! read more

We went for my birthday and ended up doing bottle service and had a great spot to chill. The crowd was really friendly and the service was fantastic! We had multiple people check in and they had security in several areas. The dj was freaking awesome too. Overall great birthday. It closes at 4 am. We will be back with friends next time! read more

I like the fact they had an open area as well as closed area with different DJs. Design is pretty nice too. They surely didn't have a well balanced crowd, I think 80% was male :). See pic for reference. Also watch out for the parking lot next to it. I paid for a full day but it "expired" at 2am even though bar is open later than that. We left around 2.30 am, two weeks later I received an email requesting $80 more since I stayed past 2... they monitor it via cameras. It is a sneaky scam. I would recommend Bauhaus to look into it, I sure wont be coming back even just for this little scam. Lot might be owned by a separate company but I bet they can do something about it since they are the main reason people park there and they are bringing revenue to them. read more

I was invited here by some friends that said it stayed open after 2 and had house music type vibes. The location is on the edge of downtown and easy to access. I have 3 major do NOTS about the visit. First, we entered the lot that Bauhaus sits on and paid the parking attendant $20 to park. He gave us a tag for the window and we went in. There is a door cover charge.... overpriced. My friend stated she was hungry so when I asked the lady at the door about food she was snappy and rude and basically told us don't ask her anything figure it out upstairs at the bar. Cool. It's a 2 story building so we walked up the stairs behind her and entered the main floor with flashing lights and 2 DJ's playing techno. They were ok. The drinks were def over priced and not worth it. Watered down. The ambiance was a vibe which brings me to my second issue of the aggressiveness as I entered and wanting to record the lights. One of the security guards jumps in front and profusely waved his hands to tell me no recording. I put my phone away and as I walked around I saw a sign saying no recording. That should prob be posted AT THE CASHIER! Lastly, I walked in the balcony to see the view. The balcony is a smoking section/dungeon lol it's so tiny, congested and grungy. I walked out for a min and immediately walked back in. I see what they don't want photos taken. We opted out for food after seeing the club didn't seem very clean. BEWARRREEE!! One of the biggest concerns after all of this is the parking ticket we received a few weeks later from the City of Houston for $80. Of course we no longer hv the valet stub nor proof we paid. This may be some sort of scam between the club and COH parking management. Who knows but be mindful and take a pix of your parking stub if you're allowed lol read more

Bauhaus has gone to shit. First time going in over two years, and I could see such a drastic change. 1. Why offer early bird tickets on Eventbrite if there is additional 20$ charge at the door per ticket. Such a scam 2. If you're going to host an event outside, invest in more fans/artic freeze fans. And if you can't afford those, at least remove the green tarp that you have wrapped around the chain linked fences to allow the wind to blow in. The green tarp does nothing but block the wind. 3. I over heard 3 peoples cars getting broken into last night and you didn't allow re entrance to people to go check on their car. Why tf charge for parking (and ask for tip) if no one is going to monitor the parking lot throughout the night. Ever since yall booked Salvatore ganacci out of desperation for money, this place has gone to shit. It was once underground. Now it's mainstream. read more

I don't know why I barely heard about it a few weeks ago. But this place is pretty dope. Downstairs it's a lounge vibe -- with a blastic AC. I was seriously freezing. But drinks came out fast. Ladies behind the bar were great. Upstairs offers more of a small music venue atmo with an additional bar. I was there for an art and music show, and there was room to dance. There's an upstairs patio, and downstairs too. Food trucks, parking lot... Cover varies when they have shows. read more

I love coming to this bar/lounge and have been coming ever since they first opened a few years ago. Bauhaus is located downtown near the Toyota Center and down the street from Spire. They bring a lot of great DJs to play at their venue as well as other amazing local DJs to spin tunes and keep you dancing all night long. They have 3 different bar areas, an upstairs as well as downstairs bathroom, and also and outdoor patio area if you're looking for a chiller vibe. I also love that they carry my favorite tequila brands as Cle does not. I've said it before it's very easy to lose track of time here especially when you're having fun. Everyone is welcome although it may not be for everyone's taste and that's okay. I guarantee you will meet some fun new friends because the vibes are always right! They also have a kitchen you can order food from to eat in the lounge or on the patio. They were one of the first bars in the area to open up during Covid following all the safety guidelines. The space is small. They have two areas one downstairs and one upstairs. I enjoyed you couldn't hear the music from the other area. We went for a jungle dj set. The music was pretty good. The drinks were stiff but it took a long time to get one. My husband became annoyed and closed the tab sooner than he normally would. The seating is mostly reserved for parties. I over heard alot of interesting conversations. I enjoy people watching. We danced and had a solid time. I have been here before but it was a band last time and jam packed you could barely move. KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR MONEY HERE. I paid $48.30 for hookah, including tip and tax. They offered a refund because they did not have hookah that night. The lady at the front desk gave me back only $40. I had to find the owner again to ask for the rest. I showed him my bank account and the charge, yet he claimed it was not enough evidence and claimed I paid less. He was rude and inappropriate, suggesting that I must need my $0.30 when in fact the I am rightfully owed the $8.30. Wild. Finally, they gave me $5. At this point, I needed to leave. This place is not fundamentally honest and fair. My suggestion is to stand your ground for what is fair and please keep an eye on your money. They will take advantage of people if they want to. I'm originally from Houston but moved to Dallas recently. Came back and Bauhaus was opened. Rumored that upcoming DJs were playing here and made a pit stop coming in from Dallas and LET ME TELL YOU. This bar/club does NOT disappoint. It's a super cute place to chill and hangout downstairs and then more club vibes upstairs with sections & all. There's a patio area that has a BEAUTIFUL view of Houston's signature skyline. I will definitely be returning and I hope this place makes a name for itself and once it does, don't forget the people who've supported it since day 1 !! YALL THERE'S ACTUALLY PARKING OUTSIDE THE VENUE so you're not having to drive up & down the streets. Reading some of the negative review is a bit strange since I can't relate to single one. My wife and I love going to Bauhaus. Its such a friendly place with a great crowd and great staff. We always get treated very great respect. Its one of the few places I go where I feel the owners are just doing everything they can to make sure we are well taken care off. The drinks I have had has always been good. I have zero complaints. The prices are in line with most clubs in town. The DJs are awesome and so is the music. If you like house and techno then this is the place to go. Seeing Maceo Plex or Offiah that close with crowd thats just into the moment is hard to beat. The club has an upstairs and downstairs. sometimes its two different events. Just because some people didnt realize that, does not make the club wrong. Never felt I paid too much for anything at the club and we go often. Never had a single issue in the club and neither has my wife. The staff seems to be on top of the action. Spent time there last weekend from 9:30 to 3:30am. It was a blast. Just a amazing night. Sunday Funday on the patio is an awesome time also. I highly recommend this place. read more

To me this is a nice spot that looking right at the Toyota center. I've party in the area before but never been to this spot. I went on a Friday night when they were laying house music. Parking in at the venue which is a super plus when partying downtown and it was free. When you walking in there is a nice seating area outside with plenty of seating. Walk inside the club has a nice ambiance to it music was good, bathrooms nice. Nice size floor for dancing. The one this was drinks were a little high $10.00 for a vodka and cranberry juice(more cranberry juice than vodka). I could see giving a nice bday party or celebration party at this place. Visited the venue this weekend and had a great time! Audio system sounds awesome. Friendly staff and great crowd... until I started feeling someone tug at my bag a little and got felt up my leg. The constant brushing up against my back pockets. I even saw someone crawling on the floor checking woman's bags. Unattended coats in private areas were also targets, as random people would sit in your area and act like they didn't know it was a private section. Eventually I went to sit down. While I was enjoying the DJ set, I was also being observant. But you have a serious "pickpocket" problem. I don't know if staff is just brushing it off as it goes on but it made my last 1hr/half really uncomfortable. After witnessing multiple attempts, a few were successful. It's not just a few people engaging in this behavior, I counted at least 30 different people by the end of the night. If you want your customers to leave happy without missing wallets, phones or keys... security needs to be more vigilant. read more

Terrible club. No music requests allowed they play their music on a thumb drive Very very expensive bar. More shockingly, I was dancing with friends and I bumped the stage. A bouncer threw me out immediately (without warning - I had not idea touching the stage would result in this action) - Note, the bouncer grabbed me by the neck and threw me out - and consequently a party of 8 left traumatised. When I protested the bouncers physically assaulted me (punching me in the face) and refused to explain their reason. The scale and severity of their actions was uncalled for. I always enjoy the music here. But the 5 star review is really because the man at the door called me an Uber to make sure I got home safely when my date left me and I did not have access to my phone. Man, I really want to love this club. The sound system upstairs is so so good. But it is just not ethical to charge $5 for water, especially when it's 90 degrees outside in the middle of summer and you are hosting an outdoor dance party. It feels predatory. There were absolutely no free water stations and no way to get water except to pay for a bottle of water at the bar. It's a safety issue. There's just no excuse to not offer a water station when you are charging a $40 cover. read more

Someone tried to steal my Apple Watch here. I called the cops because it was still fairly early, around 10PM, and I would need a police report regardless for my insurance claim. Anyways, there was an employee there claiming he was the manager and said I needed to get off the property for calling the cops and trying to find my watch. Magically his friends showed up and said the cleaning lady had found it. It's honestly super unfortunate because the bar is nice with good music, but management helps their friends commit theft - which eventually the guy admitted he was not the manager, but did seem like a supervisor of some sort. Ummmm yes, this is everything I ever imagined. It was so personal and playful at the same time. I love how close I came to the DJ. But you want to know the real highlight? The bass. MF BASSSSSSSSSSSSSS. I'm a little freak for some ridiculously loud sound systems, and boy did this make me happy. Everybody is friendly and happy. The crowd was diverse and there were seats available. The bartenders were super friendly (not sure if it is because she actually liked me or she wanted my ). The problem? The cost. I paid $25. Bauhaus aka "the doghouse" (as my friend would joke it sounds like) is actually one of my fave go to's if I ever emerge from my comfort zone aka "my house," looking for that random night out. I stumbled upon it when one of my friends dj'd here a year ago. House music has not been in my musical genre taste, but you know, something about it is a bit more mature than what I usually listen to- dance. The crowd is a bit more relaxed and mature if that is a determining factor for any of you. Two stories, kitchen equipped, velvet couch sections with DJs on both floors, it covers all parts of the nightclub. Most of the time these DJ's are from out of area and bring some amazing unique beats. If you are hesitant, Bauhaus is well worth trying compared to your usual flamboyant, judgmental clubs. read more
