I ordered the pecan pie and 7 layer bars. They were as hard a a rock. The 7 layer bar crumbled apart in dry pieces. The pecan pie bar was so hard I couldn't even put my fork into it. My husband ordered 2 cupcakes that were also dry and crumbly. I asked to get something different because they were not at all edible (unless I wanted to break a tooth). I chose the strawberry and chocolate chip cookies. Both were flavorless and underwhelming. Packaged store cookies are better than these. We went there for our anniversary and left extremely disappointed and out a fair amount of money. We ended up at Cheesecake Factory, which was superb as always. Will not go back. Updated review Flavor is amazing. The nightmare came was their wedding cake, or almond, both cake and icing. The black and gold was chocolate with the same icing. I order most things for my kids events from here because I'm obsessed with the almond/wedding cake flavor. I'll keep ordering for everything too! I ordered the black and gold cake weeks in advance and tried to show pictures of it being a little more clean, decoration wise. That cake was chocolate with white almond icing. I don't care for chocolate (my daughter's choice) but I loved this one. I'd recommend the peanut butter cup and sassy strawberry cupcakes. These cupcakes have a lot of icing, so you may want to try cutting them in half. As for the pricing, I've found the cupcakes are priced similarly to their competitors. I'd love for them to add a tag or menu board that details what each cupcake flavor is. Came here today. It is brightly decorated with aquamarine walls offset with wide black and white striped walls. The floor is a diagonally-laid, lightly aged wood vinyl. The tables and chairs are black and white and made of wood. Lighting is upscale without giving off a sense of stuffiness. Overall, the store has a comfortable, feminine feel to it. We were greeted with smiles and staff was happy to serve us. I ordered The Classic cupcake which is a rich, chocolate cupcake filled with white frosting topped off to look like a Hostess cupcake. I recently moved back to Lubbock and was so sad when Peace of Cake went under but my fiance and I found Ruffled Cup and are so happy! The Monroe is absolutely my favorite but to be honest they're all great. I am a big fan of supporting local small businesses and you feel that heart when you walk in. The staff are always so helpful and kind. A huge factor is that they are always so CLEAN. I believe they also do reserved spaces for larger parties, and they have more than just cupcakes!
