I have experienced her attitude in the past but this one took the cake. The lesson here is: God forbid you ask her a clarifying question, you know ... as the customer. Between her eye rolling and apparent disdain for answering pricing questions I finally just had to leave. I showed up in my dump trailer and asked for 1 ton of 1-1/4. She said it would be $40. This is over double what I've paid in the past. This is where I made the tragic mistake of asking if the price went up. She then explained to me that since I was in a pick up truck it was $40 minimum, in a tone of voice that made it clear I was a complete idiot for asking how the pricing worked. This is when it took a turn .... Because I had a follow up question (horrible of me I know) I said " it's going in my dump trailer, not my pick up and I can get up to 5 tons, so is the $40 a per ton fee or minimum? As she starred down the barrel of her nose at me it became clear that I was truly an evil man for asking. She then told me it was $20 per ton but a $40 minimum. I said "great" I'll get two tons then. To which she said "$60". That was of course confusing. I then begin to ask her how much if I got 3, 4, or 5 tons. It was at that point that I knew if she was a crocodile I definitely would have been eaten by now. This lady is a piece of work. I've had it with that place. If you ever read this, get a clue, Customers might ask how the pricing works.

UNSAFE AND LIARS. Bad Neighbors and clear that they don't give a damn about traffic or public…read moresafety. I wonder if their insurers know how unsafe they are and how they operate their machinery? Driving down through Daybreak Park I had a rock fly out of the bed of their truck and hit my windshield leaving a large chip. Second time in two weeks. Noticed that despite the truck having a full load of gravel the tarp that is supposed to be used to keep material from flying out was rolled up. When I thought about it in the 20 years living just up the road I do not ever remember a time seeing a Storehdahl truck with their tarps anywhere but rolled up. I have had many times have had their trucks roll through the stop sign coming down the hill going into Daybreak Park, the drivers seem to take pleasure in cutting people off. Regardless of the time of day there are wagon trains of their trucks on the road and again I have not seen one of their trucks configured to protect the public. Perhaps with their busy delivery schedule they are not giving the drivers time to secure their loads and make sure their vehicles were safe to be on the road. My experience with most delivery drivers (other than Storedahl) is that they are usually very professional-I can't understand why Storedahl's are not. Additionally, I can't understand or explain why they feel it is okay to roll through a stop sign on a very busy road with a blind corner for the vehicles coming down the hill. I decided to call their Battleground office and spoke with the secretary there and was told that the manager was out to lunch and would be back after 1PM and to ask for Ben. I did just that and spoke with Ben and told him that I had had a rock strike my windshield and put a chip in it for the second time in two weeks. I asked him what their policy on tarping their trucks was and why they would be used (perhaps the purpose of the tarp was to keep the load dry?). He told me that if they had a load in the bed that the trucks have their tarps in place to prevent anything blowing out. I remarked to Ben that in the 20 years living just up the road that I had never seen ONE of their trucks tarped. Ben then told me that it couldn't have been a Storedahl truck because they only haul rock INTO THE QUARRY just down the road!? That it must be somebody else's truck and that Storedahl had never not tarped their trucks. He then stated that he wasn't going to sit there and listen to me badmouth his drivers. I told him that if necessary, I would sit there on the hill with a camera and photograph and video the trucks showing where their tarps were with full loads. I am going to take time to do just that in addition to contacting Washington State DOT and anybody in Clark County who has oversight of this company. Reading through the reviews it is clear that I am not the only driver on the road who has had this exact thing happen to them This demonstrates that this is a known problem (hence the lying comment). I have seen large rocks/chunks of gravel laying into the road on their delivery routes which would wreck a vehicle (including theirs or at least blow out a tire). Really unconscionable that they would be so cavalier about public safety. Again, I wonder if their insurance company knows they operate this way (or perhaps they are self-insured and that is why they treat matters like this with such hubris). Or perhaps they think that that they are doing such big business in Clark County that they wouldn't have anybody from the local agencies try to call them on their unsafe practices-but brother let me tell you what, I am going to dedicate time to ensure that their unsafe practices get acknowledged and addressed. Was hoping for a professional response or conversation along the lines of we are sorry you had this experience and we will address the problem. That did not happen therefore I will work to make sure that the next neighbor does not get the same reply or arrogant treatment. With Ben's response I can now understand the company's safety attitude, the fish rots at the head first. A shame that somebody in the company doesn't set a better example and take safety seriously. More to follow.

We were greeted right away by nice young man Brody, who explained their pricing and where to find what we were describing. We found several rocks we liked from different stacks so I headed to get help. Brody saw me coming back and immediately came out of the office to offer assistance. We showed him the rocks we wanted and he tagged them and started loading them to be weighed. I was impressed at how efficient, skilled and safely he handled the big equipment. He had us weighed and loaded in no time. We were able to pay the $218 right there at the truck with his hand held device and we were on our way. Overall we were very impressed and the short drive across the river was well worth the savings. We priced out the same number of rocks in similar styles in Portland and the Portland suppliers were nearly twice what we paid here. If you're a dog person, there's added bonus (not related to Sundance) is that they are right next to a huge dog park that we weren't aware of so we were able to take our dog there for some fun afterwards too.
