Jamie (sp?) is likely one of the nicest folks around and when I ordered a few items waaaay larger than my tiny little eco-car could haul was supportive in trying to help me get at least part of my order home. When I followed up to request a return for the remaining over-order amount I got to speak with them again and confirmed their super kind human status. This HD is not close to my home (was just the closest to have the item I needed in stock), but if I ever needed to place a curbside order I would absolutely consider traveling the extra distance for the professional and quality customer service

I forgot a paintbrush from across the store and asked the clerk, Debbie, if I could leave my cart to the side for 90 seconds so I could grab a quick brush. That led into a rant about how it was not her job or her responsibility to monitor my cart and it was against store policy rules for me to leave it behind. Let's be clear here... This was a cart full of cardboard boxes that I had not checked out or paid for...I was still shopping, it just happened to be a very heavy carr and cumbersome to push the entire distance of the store, unnecessarily. People like Debbie should not be in customer service. Debbie is unprofessional. Debbie is unkind. Debbie is unhelpful. Debbie makes a terrible cashier monitor. The only apparent skill that she has is babbling with other employees about nothing related to work and making sure she is 100% unproductive while on the clock. The Home Depot would do best not employing people like Debbie. There are many people looking for jobs that would be customer service oriented and helpful to those spending money at their store. People like Debbie are the reason that I will never return to this store. Ridiculous. Debbie alone made my first and only trip to this store a poor experience... A simple and helpful yes would have completely prevented a review as such.

It's the rock you see the most around here and what makes the rocky walls of the Columbia Gorge. (Luckily the Columbia River Gorge is protected from mining by an innovative scenic overlay) Basalt is usually gray, but some has a beautiful slight purple tint. That rock comes from this quarry. I needed about 25 tons. We visited the quarry with the contractor's dump truck. It's a safety zone - hard hats, safety glasses, steel toe boots. We were able to mark with spray paint specific boulders in the pile that had the character and shapes we were seeking. Then they were loaded by very large machines. It was awesome to see some giant boulders which are normally used to make ocean breakwaters, 8-15 feet on a side. There are also businesses adjacent to the quarry that split the rock into about 2-6 inch sections for making walls. The advantage to going to the quarry is that the rock hasn't been driven to round by being transported and loaded multiple times. They also have larger boulders. Standard terminology includes "3 man boulders", a little bigger than 18 inches on a side and 3-4 foot, generally requiring a machine to move. Phone ahead for hours and procedures. It's a bargain too, maybe $30 a ton. I have also purchased material, including split rock, at their more retail outlets, Pacific Rockery. A great area resource for Northwest specific stone, guaranteed to last for at least another 15 million years!

Vlad and his team are extraordinary in more ways than I can probably describe in a (brief) review…read more He and his team stepped in during a complicated and very demanding bathroom repair and remodel, and in every way, at every iteration and step of managing the project distinguished himself as easily the best contractor that my wife and I have ever worked with. And that is having built two homes and many remodels as well as construction projects outside of our own homes. Vlad and his brothers and the people he hires to work alongside him are the most professional and meticulous craftsmen we have ever worked with. They are profoundly respectful of our home and workspace, and there was not a single instance where we worried about damage to our home, as they made sure every surface was protected and clean at the end of every day. To say that they take their workmanship seriously is an understatement. They hold themselves to a standard that is unlike any I have ever experienced. At many points during the project without being asked, they redid framing and other elements of the project so that their own work would not be compromised in the slightest. I could write volumes about how they took a very challenging project potentially fraught with many potential wrong turns and brought it to completion with such calm and respectful competency that my wife and I still comment almost daily on how good of an experience it was. I would recommend them without reservation to anyone.

Vladimir was kind and accommodating throughout-- kept us in the loop for the entire process, always checked in with us to ask our preferences for things big and small. They were tidy + super courteous with occupying our space for a week -- unbelievable work ethic, took their time where it counted but super fast and efficient with muscling through to get the job done (mindful of us wanting our shower back) Literally could not ask for more.
