The woman behind the plexiglass was friendly though and the prices here are definitely good. I went with a small shrimp po' boy, which came with French fries. I also had a Conecuh sausage. It was a lot of food for under twelve dollars. The shrimp po' boy was definitely good and for I think eight dollars (and it came with French fries), you can't beat the deal. The shrimp was tasty. The French fries were rather unremarkable and could have used a bit of salt and pepper, but I think people are cautious with salt these days. All in all, I was satisfied with the lunch that I got at Seafood King. I would definitely recommend here and I will give it five stars overall.

Last year, I proudly named Mudbugs my pick for the Best Crawfish in Mobile, and to be fair, they're still holding it down when it comes to juiciness, flavor, and size this season. That said, I have to talk about quality and cleanliness. I pulled way too much seagrass out of my bag, and I had five straight tails (if you know, you know)--which usually means they were dead before boiling. For this price point and reputation, I expect better attention to detail. My Breakdown: * Flavor & Size: 5/5 * Cleanliness & Quality: 2/5 Still love the flavor and the heat, but consistency matters. I'll definitely be back--but I'm hoping next time I won't have to sort through seaweed and dead crawfish.

You ever walk into a place and immediately think, "Yep... this is either going to be amazing or I'm…read moreabout to make a terrible decision"? Welcome to Judy's Place. Because this spot is not pretending to be anything. This is full-on, unapologetic dive. And I mean that in the best possible way. You walk in and it's like the '70s, '80s, and a little bit of someone's '90s basement bar all got together and said, "Let's not change a thing." Old banquet-style tables, a bar top that feels like it's hosted a thousand stories, and walls that have clearly seen some things. I loved it immediately. Now let's talk food. The folks next to me were deep into the chicken and dumplings and talking about it like it was a life event. You know that kind of table chatter where you start reconsidering your order mid-bite? Yeah, that. I went shrimp po' boy... and no regrets. Shrimp fried just right. Crispy, flavorful, doing exactly what it's supposed to do. Solid sandwich. The fries... eh, they showed up a little tired. Not terrible, just kind of there. A little cold, a little soggy, like they'd already had a long day. But here's the twist. You don't come to Judy's for perfection. You come for personality. For the feeling that you just discovered a place that doesn't care about trends, doesn't need a remodel, and definitely isn't chasing Instagram. It just is what it is... and somehow that works. Fold this into your expectations. If you need polished, keep driving. If you want real, pull up a chair. It's fun. It's different. It's got character for days. Four stars. And honestly, half the star is just for staying exactly the same all these years.

The staff were very friendly and cheerful - mostly teenagers working but all were chatty and willing to help. The menu is larger than I would expect. We both got vegetable plates so we could sample as many of the veggies/sides as possible. Everything was tasty and very nicely done. Some dishes were a little salty but nothing inedible. Highly recommended. We will definitely hit them up again when we are in the area.

By the time we arrived, a bit after 6:30 pm, the chicken and dumplings were sold out. We weren't feeling particularly adventurous, so I ordered chicken Pad Thai and my husband chose Teriyaki chicken. His meal came with sides of soup and salad, but there was no choice of soup. He was told only onion soup came with the meal. The soup was mostly a salty broth, and not good. The salad was iceberg lettuce with a peanut-flavored dressing. My husband said his main course dish was good. I tried the noodles and veggies on his plate. The noodles were good. My Pad Thai was on the sweet side, and could have used more lime to balance this than the small wedge I was given. The amount of food served was more than adequate. While we were waiting for our food to arrive, a 6-legged friend joined us at the table. I don't get freaked out by cockroaches, but it certainly wasn't expected given the place seemed clean.

This is solid Southern barbecue, with authentic meats and their own special sauce. A little nick for only having one sauce, with bottles of sport peppers if you want to add your own heat? And ruin their flavor? But they brought more sauce when I asked so that I could drench ALL the meats. Brisket had a bit of a corned beef vibe to it. Ribs may not have fallen off the bone but they pulled off cleanly, and absolutely are not dry. The pulled pork was a little dry, perhaps. None of the meats were the best I've ever had, but all absolutely were good enough to recommend and have again. The sides: Generous fried okra. Beans have a nice meat base. They were nice to let me pick my sides even though the menu says beans and slaw. In general the service was nice and very accommodating, but a little Southern slow to stop by at times. Hey, I'm in the South. Verdict: Not convinced this is the best BBQ in Mobile, but for being all the way out west in range of the airport, probably the best food and dining experience for miles around.
