First off: their hours as listed here are completely WRONG! As are their hours which are on their door. Their current hours are: Lunchtime on Sundays and 4:30 - 9:00 on Mon, Tues, Wed. They specialize in fish dishes it seems on their lunchtime buffet, but their dinner menu is more diverse (hamburgers, cheeseburgers, steaks, etc.). Their gumbo is excellent--hot and spicy with lots of meat & shrimp. The interior is on the dark side but the decor is simple and tasteful. Prices are on the expensive side, but the food is very good. Great Food, Great Service, Great atmosphere! They always have the best and most fresh catfish!!

I don't even know where to start! The service was the epitome of southern hospitality. BUT the food...THE FOOD. I had the AYCE chicken fillets and couldn't even order a second round they give you so much. My husband had the AYCE catfish fillets. I've never seen this man refuse a second helping but again so much food in the first round he had to say no. Other than my moms coleslaw he doesn't like it at all but he ate half of the bowl they brought to the table for us share, it was delicious. I've never had a fry meal on catfish seasoned so good. My chicken was crispy but tender and again full of flavor. Now let me tell you about the best part. Their cheese grits...OMG. We eat a lot of grits and as I mentioned in yesterday's review we always have to season them. NOT HERE, these were perfect. They were also just the right amount of thick and creamy while staying hot throughout our entire meal. read more

The food was cold and overpriced. The crab-legs are highly overpriced, it is 40 dollars a person for crab-legs. They need to fix their prices. In my cousins drink, there was a mosquito in her drink, and her lemonade was flavorless. The chairs and tables were very dirty. There closet door fell down randomly and the place is very old. The service is alright. They kept coming to check and see if we were ok. We really weren't ok tho. They need to change the name to Lakeview Sorry Food. Yall need to step yall game up. read more

Great food and even better service! The all you can eat catfish and chicken tenders were hot and delicious. They were very generous with portions and when we asked for more (all you can eat remember) it was a very generous serving. We even sampled the ribeye steak and oh my goodness the flavor was amazing! Homemade biscuits were soft and flaky and the hush puppies had just enough seasoning. The French fries were perfectly crispy and salty. Even the coleslaw was tasty. Our taste buds are singing tonight and they have definitely earned repeat customers. Don't hesitate to try this place. Our group of four visited this place last Friday night and we were not disappointed. It was my first time. We had the Catfish/ Fried Seafood platter. It was great. Plenty of fish. We tried Lakeview for the first time under the new management. My husband doesn't eat seafood so he always orders the steak. I got the catfish. We were surprised that I could not order a plate of catfish with sides. The only way to get catfish and sides was to order the all-you-can-eat or order the catfish with shrimp or chicken. When we first walked in there is a sign posted saying you CANNOT take home any food on the all-you-can-eat menu, NO EXCEPTIONS. I didn't like being forced to order the all-you-can-eat choice. We are paying for it, I should be able to take home what I was forced to order by default. Our server was nice and efficient. My husband's steak was flavorful, as were his fries. My hushpuppies were burnt, and the three small catfish filets were very dry. The coating was so dry it tasted like dust. We'll stick with Seaman's Cove for our local seafood dining. read more

I can't believe that I'm the first to Yelp this place. We had an extremely large group. We were given 2 excellent, and patient servers. I know we worked them, and at the end they were still as sweet as when we first entered. The food was great. They serve complimentary biscuits and coleslaw! What! Who does that?! Well they do and it was the best biscuit I have ever eaten. I had the all you can eat fried catfish. But I could not eat more than one serving. You get a lot of food on the first round. You must try the cheese grits. I think those were my favorite part. They were able to accommodate my son's gluten intolerance with a grilled shrimp kid meal and baked potato. Decided to hold our office Christmas party here and was not disappointed. They had a lot of parties scheduled on that day so when I arrived a little early to decorate I had to wait. Got to the nice big room they were putting us in and it had plenty of seating for everyone. The service and the food were both great and the office absolutely loved both. My husband got fish and oysters his was great. His oysters were fried perfectly. Fish ok. ask if they still have coleslaw there machine was down. He never offered a replacement. I ordered blackened catfish. Ask if it was spicy? He said yes to some people!! I told him not spicy it came with 3 half pieces of fish with no seasoning at all!?!?!? I put salt and pepper!! I went to this place for a quick meal (which was a mistake) for I had to be at work in a little less than 2 hours. It took for ever to be,seated and longer yo get waited on. I was pleasantly surprised though that they had oysters all you can eat (I love oysters). I ordered that and when they came out it looked and tasted like the grease they were cooked in was 10 years old. I had to hurry up and eat as I was going to be late. This is a local favorite and I've eaten here for years. Some airhead has started a rumor that the restaurant was shutting down which is false. Tonight's meal was great and I was happy to hear that they are not shutting down. This has restaurant has a country decor. They serve the best biscuits. Went Friday nite. Had been there several years ago and wanted to try it again. First, the service was great. Second, we ordered our food. There was 4 of us and the Cole slaw came out first. It was really good. Our food came out in a very short time and was as ordered. I had the catfish with French fries. The fries were coated and seasoned. Very good. The catfish was outstanding and since it is all you can eat, I probably overdid it on my diet. My wife had the fried oysters and she is still bragging about how good they were. I've been eating here since I was a boy. It has changed over the years, but it is still very good.

I asked for lemon for my tea 6 times before I got it. I asked for a baked potato with my dinner didn't get it was just automatically given fries instead. I hate shoestring fries! My partner ordered a medium well steak it came out rare! I was given different excuses by different people one was you can't tell what temp the waitress wrote down to "I (owner) was training a new cook tonight" (Friday) with a large party (50) to be there. Part of our party wanted the all you can eat meal that was listed on the menu it stated minimum of six people to order. We were told we couldn't have it because more than half of our party did not want it! There were about 10 of us who wanted it. If your not going to let people order it then don't put it on the menu! Overall our service started out horrible. We were given two waitresses for a group of 50 people. We were not given the food we ordered, it was served incorrectly and meals were delivered piecemeal or parts not delivered at all. We knew it would take time to deliver all of our meals but it took nearly an hour and 1/2 for each of us to revive part of our meals. There were times the staff shined just to fair but out of everything it mostly was poor business. This restaurant knew about our party for over a week. They should have been better prepared for us plus normal business instead they were completely unprepared to handle business. If your a party of 2-4 people I say go but if you are a larger group stay away from here! read more

oh my goodness this place is sooooo good! from the beginning, the biscuits were light fluffy and airy, the best biscuits we've had at a restaurant. the coleslaw was delicious, and my husband is picky about coleslaw but he really liked it! the fried green tomatoes were great. I'm not a huge fan of tomatoes but tried one since it was at the table. I'm so happy I did, there was a light breading but not too much that's all we tasted. perfectly seasoned! the catfish was very tasty as you would hope to get at a catfish restaurant. the potato salad was done differently in a way that works brilliantly! I normally don't like hush puppies, but they put green onions in theirs and I actually enjoyed them! the shrimp was perfection! the fried crab claws is a genius idea that I haven't seen anywhere else and they were yummy the gumbo my mom had was good with a little bit of heat without being too spicy. she loved it! overall, I can't say enough about this place and how amazing the food was!! we will definitely be coming back!! read more
