They have started charging ridiculous prices and the quality of the food has gone way way down. We dropped into the Eddie Rocket's on Parnell st for an impromptu pig out. We ordered ad it took them about 35 minutes for them to finally bring the food. We could see my burger under the hot lamps for about 15 of those minutes The Jalapeno Popper at one point was the pinnacle of burgers in Ireland for me. Lots of peppers, cheese, sour cream on a lash of hot sauce. What I got this time was kind of a sloppy mess (see picture). Most of the jalapenos fell out the back of the burger. My girlfriend's veggie burger was really dry. She used to love these but she was left very disappointed. All in all Eddie's was once a fantastic burger spot. Now they over charge for burgers that are not as good as they once were.

Here it's Eddie Rockets and there's nowhere quite like Parnell Street's burger joint for pre-movie munchies. It's pricey here in ways no establishment calling itself a diner should ever be - which is why Hubby Himself often pays - with two burgers, fries, onion rings, milkshake and diet coke (the lynchpin in weight gain) coming to about 30 yo-yos. ...For that money you could get a gorgeous Indian dinner form Bombay Pantry, fill the tank for a VW Lupo or buy a pre-worn hipster top from Urban Outfitters. Here, it's greasy spoon goodness. The service is prompt, the wait-staff efficient but quiet, and when your deep-fried side order isn't to your liking, they'll replace or refund without fighting (it really does happen in Ireland). And with a second entrance that leads out to the Cineworld complex and theatre it makes dinner and a movie easier than ever.

Our first meal in Dublin was at The Old Mill Restaurant, right in the heart of Temple Bar. It's been serving traditional Irish fare since the 1980s and has become a favorite stop for both locals and visitors looking for classic comfort food. After about a 20-minute wait, we were seated in the warm, inviting dining room. Susan ordered the mussels, one of her favorites, while I went with the Traditional Irish Stew and my daughter chose the Braised Beef & Guinness Stew. Both were exactly what we hoped for: hearty, flavorful, and perfect after a day of sightseeing. I finally understood why the Guinness stew had such a rich, dark color, and I have to admit, I came home a big fan of Irish stew. We finished with the Homemade Bread & Butter Pudding topped with fresh cream and custard, a comforting dessert that was the perfect ending to the meal. Service, atmosphere, value, and food were all five out of five. We also enjoyed chatting with the floor manager, whose pride in the restaurant and his team was obvious. That kind of hospitality made a great meal even more memorable.

We asked about the soup flavor & they offered a taste and brought out a huge sample boat. Super cool. I got the cottage pie lunch portion, which is more than I could barely eat. It came with a boat of the sauce /and gravy and meat. Wife got the fish and chips... The fillet was longer than the plate and it came with a mountain of fries, both delicious. Daughter got the creamy vegetable soup and chips. She loved it but couldn't even finish half. All the portions were very generous, nobody finished their meal, too bad we couldn't have taken it back to our hotel. Server was great & funny. Love this place.
