"Mpekri meze" - Drunk man's dish
    Mick M.

I've visited this Greek/ Mediterranean cafe/bistro place three times so far and I have nothing but good feedback for them!! Being a Greek, I enjoyed the Greek dishes in the menu, including baklava but also main dishes, with pork, lamb, and starters as well like tzatziki (yoghurt garlic and cucumber with some herbs). Another favourite is mpougatsa: filo pastry with a sweet cream made from milk, semolina, sugar, lemon flavour, with sprinkled icing sugar and cinnamon on top!! Very popular in Northern Greece, Thessaloniki. Sometimes on a Sunday there might be a live Greek music event. The service is very friendly and quick. I loved their spinach pie, which they can kindly warm up for you if you prefer it hot! The coffee was good, they make also some non-standard ones which are popular in Greece: give a try the Freddo one! If you're up for an alcoholic drink, they have a stronger version of ouzo, called tsipouro, from Tirnavos, an area popular in Greece for producing the best quality of this drink. Looking forward to my next visit!! Keep up the good work guys!!

    Greek full breakfast!

Really amazing place! We went here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and it was packed! With just one table left we were sat down and got the menus. Everything on the menu is Greek-themed, and we chose a Greek breakfast and Greek sausages and eggs. The girl serving us didn't seem phased at all by how busy it was, and took our order quickly. We got our coffees and meals quickly as well, especially for how busy it was. The food was really tasty, seasoned to perfection. My dish had a bit too much oil on it for my preference, but that's just trying to find something a little bit negative! The bread that was served with my dish was supertasty, and I really tried to eat everything! We had to go get some money out before we left, because they don't take card, but there is a cash machine just down the road on Nicholson street. Great place, will definitely come again :)

    Not a bad double cappuccino!

Food was plentiful and fresh. Relaxed atmosphere and great freindly service. Four of us shared salads, humus etc. and one had a breakfast.

It is the perfect spot for those on the go as seating is very limited. Inside, you'll find the place to be quite charming. Stone covered walls, warm lighting & the aroma of freshly made coffee makes this place feel like one out of a storybook. Both times I've gone, I was greeted by the friendly staff who did a wonderful job keeping everything in order as it was quite busy. I usually don't opt for hot coffee, but as it was a cold and rainy day, I opted for what I believe was a brown sugar honey latte. For munching, I had the strawberry croissant. The coffee itself was very small in size, but it had great flavor. It was subtle, with the perfect amount of sweetness. The croissant was flaky and the layers of the dough filled crust were incredibly delicious. is it the best coffee I've ever had? Certainly not, but the service and the charm of the cafe make it all well worth It. It truly is a must try spot when visiting Edinburgh. Stop in for a hot cup of coffee, take a stroll and get carried way in the streets of Edinburgh.

Slotted in on Rose Street, at the back of the huge and imposing columned Dome buiding, this gorgeous little city-centre oasis is the perfect place to rest your shopping-weary feet and have a tasty lunch. It's only open from april to early september, and although it's tucked down a narrow street this place is a great little suntrap. You can get wraps, salads, soups, burgers, that sort of thing here - not a full á la carte lunch, but the portions are fairly generous so you'll only need one course. The service was ok, but our waiter didn't even bother to bring us our change back. We had been planning to leave it as a tip for him, but we thought it was a bit cheeky of him just to assume, especially when service is already included in the prices. For a salad and a soft drink you'll spend just over £10 a head, which makes it slightly pricier than a lot of other lunchtime cafés nearby, but this setting is just so gorgeous I'd happily pay the difference.

The cafe was an adorable old house turned into a cafe and we got a seat near the back looking over the garden in the back of the space. It was really nice. My wife got the seasonal eggs Benedict and I got the peas a la salt. The Bennedict was good, but seemed like it was missing something. My best guess is that it's just the English muffin wasn't as sturdy as I'm used to and I'm used to it that way. The peas a la salt came over sourdough bread with bacon, black pudding and a poached egg. Same as the Bennedict, it was all yummy, but not amazing. The peas were very far from mushy (which is good), but maybe could have been a bit firmer. Things just didn't quite come together the way I would have hoped.
