A good selection of real ale, sets off the old beams and friendly land lady. Moving with pint in had to the large garden overlooking the south downs way (see photos) we soon had steaming masses of food arriving. My lamb with apricots and apples was sumptuous. The liver and bacon my sister had was adequate, but the fish pie was a real winner, salmon, prawns, white fish in a creamy mash. Mmmmm. By the piles of benches stacked against a barn it looks like it gets very busy in the summertime - and according to some locals it "isn't as good as it was before it was discovered" but all in all a great lunch and think it is a great find. The pub had been purposefully run down and tee-d up for closure by the previous owner, and in fact half of the pub and half of the car park had been turned to residential use. Luckily, they couldn't sell the pub itself for residential use and Nick and Tina Irish bought it. They have lovingly restored the pub using a 'reclaimed' wood effect throughout. The decor is bright and contemporary. There is a good buzz about the place and it's now a very comfortable place to take a drink or just grab a bowl of chips. The Pub is a free house and keg beers are on offer for the discerning as well as the usual range of Lager. Tip: If eating go for the House wine. As all house wines should be, it is a cut above the norm. The restaurant is pub fare with an upmarket touch; and prices are reasonable for the area. We had the Fillet of Bass which at less than £13 is definitely reasonable, and arrived on a bed of crushed new potatoes and salad drizzled with a balsamic dressing. Bosham itself is a famous landmark and boasts a beautiful quay which is popular with visitors from all over the UK. The White Swan is a mer 3 mins drive or 20 mins walk to the quay
