The Dinning Room at the White Horse just open after a wonderful refurbishment.
Service
- friendly staff, knowledgable on the menu & wine list
- great flow throughout the evening
Food
Set menu with 3 plates to choose from (3 starters, 3 mains, 3 desserts)
Started with an amuse Bouche, compliment of the chef - grilled chicken skins with radish. A great introduction to what is yet to come
We went for the Ham Hock Croquette & Crispy Baby Artichokes. Both wonderful, Croquette is more filling and a bigger portion than the Artichokes but both are worth trying.
2 of us went for the Rib of Beef: perfectly cooked, great seasoning and fantastic sauce, the beef was melting on our tongues.
The cod was beautifully cooked, and extremely well presented.
We didn't go for desserts but they were looking good as they were passing by.
Wine list
Good selection by the glass (4 white, 2 rose, 4 red and 2 sparking)
Bottle of champagne from £40 to £60 with a great sparkling wine at £ 25.
11 bottles of white wine from £18.50 to £75.00 from a variety of countries
4 rose, from £ 19.50 to £34.50
13 red from £18.50 to £78.50
We went for the Rustenberg 2012 from South Africa for £ 36.50, which was wonderful.
Ambiance
It's a wonderful local pub with a touch of high scale dinning experience, much needed locally. Own by passionate couple , who live near by, it's a great story about saving a local pub and keeping a village with his heart. read more
