Normally I like to take pictures of the food before I eat it but on this I couldn't wait! Everything was very tasty and good portion sizes too! I will be sad to move away from this place!

What a cute little mom-pop shop! My kids were craving Korean food so found this local place. The owner was so wonderfully sweet and kind. We chose all the right foods to eat including bulgogi, spicy pork and chicken bowls. In the mornings they serve donuts, breakfast sandwiches and burritos. Will definitely come back for more!

Perfect spicy pork bulgogi, flavorful, fresh, and completely satisfying. Just not spicy like at all. I'm all for not being scalded with pepper and spice but this was too much the other way. I sh old at least feel some heat. Normally I'd deduct a star. Completely still giving a full 5 stars because I truly enjoyed it. After tasting my takeout I ate in the parking lot.

Immensely disappointed at this place. High hopes were shattered when I started to eat my takeout dinner. I had the tofu bowl with brown rice with side order of kimchi. The online ordering was easy to navigate. And the Korean lady was nice enough during my pickup experience. All went downhill when i took a bite of the pickled cucumber, which was RANCID - so disgusting that I spitted it out. I was so shocked that the restaurant would serve old & spoiled kimchi cucumber to the customer. Unethical to say the least. And did the health dept not catch this horrible practice?! Needless to say that I will never return again, the next time I visit The Colony from Las Vegas, NV. The tofu was mediocre, with soy sauce and sesame oil seasoning. Just so disappointed that I wasted my hard-earned money at this restaurant!!

I love TWINKLE donuts and I've been really wanting to try Rice Bar at dinner time. Sadly I was a little disappointed. I was really excited about trying dishes, good prices and good variety- I ordered the egg rolls, they were ok, not exceptionally tasty or flavorful. I was really craving the crab rangoon after all the internet hype- wahh it was legit just a wonton with cream cheese- very sad. I didn't taste any hint of crab at all. The pork rice dish was flavorful but the pork tasted pretty porky and didn't absorb the flavor of the seasonings- not exciting. I'll stick with Twinkle donuts.

    Spicy pork!

If you're looking for korean bento, look no further, this korean kitchen serves it up delicious and just the right amount of everything. We ordered using the takeout feature right here on yelp right before we headed out the door and everything was bundled up and ready for pick up when we got there. Lemme tell ya, get the pop pop chicken! Korean style chicken nuggets with an amazing dipping sauce. Comes on a bed of rice and salad. We also ordered the teriyaki chicken which also came with salad and rice! The hubs got spicy pork.. didn't hear a peep outta him and it was gone in a flash, I didn't even get a chance to try it! Well, gives me another excuse to come back and order again. Tip: In the morning, you can come here for donuts!

I got the chicken bibimbap and my bf got the chicken katsudon. I liked the chicken bibimbap. Juicy chicken, and lots of veggies.

It's not very salty, which is what I like and it's a good serving size (sometime too big so my husband finishes it for me). It comes with salt and pepper for more seasoning, and a few side dishes. My husband usually gets their fried chicken and he's tried all their flavors, now he ventures on to other dishes. Always a great experience! The servers are very attentive and they come by all the time to check on you, refill waters, and offer you more of their banchans. I love their cucumber side dish and their kimchi. I always get refills on those. They are a little on the pricier side, but totally worth it. Overall, definitely recommend! It's best to come early to find parking since it does tend to be super busy. Once you're done with dinner, go on over to somi somi or 85 degrees or even matcha maiko for dessert!

Before the main event, we got the seafood & green onion pancake. Crispy on the outside and reasonably chewy interior. Good amount of seafood; in particular, the oyster stood out. It was also a nice portion that was ideal for sharing. I opted for the seafood soondubu. Everything, from the banchan to the specific side dishes served with the soondubu, came out not too long after ordering. I got it at spice level three which I thought offered the right amount of kick without being too overwhelming (I also like to think I have a pretty strong spice tolerance). It had a good variety of seafood; namely, the shrimp and oyster. I'm not the biggest fan of clams but they were definitely still tasty. The tofu was soft and silky. The yellow croaker and rice were great supplements to the dish. The rice perfectly absorbed the broth. The croaker added a nice crunchy break from everything. The banchan was pretty standard in my opinion - still, a great complement to the soondubu. Last but not least - service was attentive and quick. I will definitely be coming back at some point!

The restaurant had plenty of space, but service was still super fast and efficient anyway, which I loved. What I love about Chodang is that the food is stellar and such good PORTIONS. Knowing this, I still opted to order a Combo Special because the thought of having leftovers for the next day sounded great to me. I ordered the Kimchi Tofu Soup with Beef Bulgogi, and it was delicious. I usually order my soups at the Spicy level, which I would say has a kick and flavor but never leaves me panting for air or water. As someone who likes spice, I wouldn't say it's very spicy, but definitely flavorful. Beef Bulgogi is one of my favorite dishes, and this place's version does not disappoint. The meat is tender and has a good balance of sweet and salty. My friends also ordered Combo Specials with a Tofu soup and the Korean bbq ribs, and Spicy Pork Bulgogi. One of these friends opted for the medium spice level, which I would say is a safe choice for everyone, especially if you're worried about something being too spicy. All soups come with Korean side dishes, a whole grilled yellow croaker fish (delicious but lots of bones), and a hot stone bowl of rice. Nothing missed!

Californian from SF here, so take this with a pinch of salt, as I would suggest with the eel soup…read more Along with that soup(L21), our party of three and a half (sleeping baby) ordered a small bossam(A1) and the dak-ghalbi/spicy chicken(L11). If you are suffering from gout/high uric acid, I'd recommend AGAINST you ordering the spicy chicken. Out came a salad, classic Napa cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, and individual portions of three sauces. Gochujang, bean paste with jalapeno and onion, and a sweetened soy with pickled cukes. Of note is the Napa cabbage kimchi, fresh rather than aged, akin to Kunjip (for those of you from the Bay Area) rather than other typical Korean eateries. The fish sauce used gave a background note reminiscent of salted fish/鹹魚 if you're Cantonese, a first for me. Then came the three dishes. The small bossam came with squid, spicy dried radish (different from the earlier kimchi which had the crisp of a pear. This has a different crunch.), a lightly dressed scallion salad, and of course, boiled pork belly. Sorry, no oysters. The staff suggest eating the squid with gochujang. Pork belly unctuous and very soft. Entire dish was solid. The eel soup is a first for me. Never seen before. The white soup was thick like sollongtong, loaded, but rather bland. The unseasoned eel gave the broth a light freshwater fish flavor that will not be for everyone, but the meat was much improved with the sweetened soy. Other ingredients used include scallions, enoki mushrooms, and of note, perilla leaves, which gave a strong flavor between mint and epazote when encountered. The soup overall did feel bland so we added salt as if this was sollongtong, and the taste did improve a lot. Last dish: dak-ghalbi/spicy chicken. Normally the most mundane of the 3, I'm writing because of this dish. When we say spicy, I mean this dish will slowly leave a small fissure in the center of your tongue, though you will be able to taste everything else. The marinate had a mushroom flavor that I haven't had on this side of the Pacific Ocean, and worked well with the heat. Present again was the perilla leaf whose flavor stood up well, just a touch, neither neutered by nor overpowering the heat. Japchae noodles were present as well, showing an addictively toothsome side that I didn't know japchae had. Call me impressed. There was one struggle I had coming here though... I'm used to seeing Latinized Korean on the menu; here there is straight up Hangul, and and English description of the dish... Took me a while to go through the menu. Never realized how much I relied on this feature, or how naked I felt without it... But yeah. Dallas ain't no slouch when it comes to Korean food.
