Toasted Garlic Tortellini - meatballs & burrata
    Julie P.

Delightfully surprised (in a good way) by this place! After having couple drinks near by, we wanted to grab more drinks and late night food! Walking around Belltown, we stumbled upon The Rendezvous! Very good selection of food. We came in around 9pm and ordered some food and drinks. We had the Avocado dish which had ricotta fritters & bacon - wow it was so delicious! We also had the Toasted Garlic Tortellini and this was super good as well - it was so cheesy with the burrata which is my favorite kind of pasta dish! :) Also on Fridays and Saturday nights, they have Ramen night starting at 10pm! The Mushroom Miso Ramen was really good! Heard this place has a theater where you can eat & watch a show which is super cool! We'll definitely come back here again for sure :)

Not a bad place in Belltown. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is ok. We popped in here on our night out and the place is chill. The drinks are delicious and expertly crafted. Definitely a place for great drinks and will have to try more next time.

Simple bar that's kind of divey. If you're looking for a holdover spot while waiting for a reservation, I actually think this is a really great option. It's quiet enough to have a conversation and the drinks don't break the bank. I would recommend d for someone looking to have a drink and catchup. I wouldn't recommend this spot if you're looking to rage or for this to be the sole purpose of the outing. I think it compliments the night's plans.

Good food on top of great drinks and shows!!

Loved this spot! How have I not known about this place until now?! What an eccentrically adorable dive with a theater in back! I saw Gutenberg! here with a friend and loved every second of being here. I never would have guessed there would be an old Art Deco style theatre within the walls of this space. What a cool concept that you can order food and drink from Rendezvous while watching a show in the theatre. Food and drink options were plentiful and servers and bartenders were sweet. Seating in the theatre is a little awkward but cozy. Note* test out your chair before the show starts - mine was halfway broken and became really uncomfortable halfway through the first act. I would definitely return to see a comedy show here or just have a bite to eat and drink here. Very cool.

Update: I just love this place. Its a "go have a drink with friends, great happy hour, and great service" kind of place. The owners can usually be found milling around, even helping out when it gets busy. This place caters to all types and has a great atmosphere without TVs or blaring music. March 2008 has been the coldest month on record in Seattle. April so far hasn't been much better. Cold, rain, and snow have been the norm. While leaving the Rendezvous and Bell town the other night we saw a tall blond walking down the street wearing only a skimpy miniskirt dress and heals, and it was only in the high 30's. She definitely wasn't headed to Rendezvous and this is why I hang out there. I see people refer to the Rendezvous as a dive bar but I don't think this is incorrect. If one were comparing the ascetics of the Rendezvous to the polished, techno thumping, popular-for-a-second bars that have infested much of the Belltown, I could see how one would think this bar is a dive. These people have obviously never been to the Barnoff on Karaoke night. The Rendezvous is a poet and artist's bar, a place for people who want to meet friends, drink beer (they also have a full bar), talk, and eat good bar food. It is also one of the last places in the area to house a venue, the Jewel Box Theatre, where anyone with $75 can host an event. The service is usually spot on but they do have hiccups at times. The prices and drink selection is on par for the area. If you have a large party ( I think 6 or more) the will add gratuity to the bottom line. This happened to us once and the waitress didn't tell us letting us tip even more. After a going here for over a year this has been the only negative experience I can think of.

Jewelbox Theater interior. Some Booths in the back. The front is more comedy show seating.

How is the seating at theater?

There are folding chairs (some better than others) in not so orderly rows. There are a few tables with chairs as well. It's a small intimate space with max 25-28 chairs if I had to guess from memory.

Gorgeous new place on the block!!…read more Stunning new event space right in south lake union/ downtown with sweeping lake union views. Views alone were worth a trip or 4!! Came for the opening of this shiny new spot yesterday. A gorgeous 3,000 square foot event space that was completely remodeled: with in house catering, vendors, event planners, photo booths, musician! And the food. It was like going to a super fun wedding minus the formality of it. The owner was there as well: super passionate and shared the story of how she bought this space sight unseen: took a long process in turning this into a gorgeous space that it is now. It was super cool! And the food!! They allow outside catering too but the in-house catering: Kaspar catering : baos topped with micro greens and mint. Steamed to serve! Poke rolls :delicious! Panna cotta : in a cup! Lisa Dupar catering: this one was fantastic as I've had a chance to taste their food in the past at a wedding. The gorgeous cupcakes, macarons, molasses cookies and stunning cake. All were so pretty! Mark ryan wine! I mean, what's not to love as it's one of the wineries I frequent in Woodinville wine country. My pup baci's favorite too. Luxe Photo Booth: this one was so fun! The 360 Photo Booth!! I've seen them in Time Squares recently as well as at a valentines event. But this one was so much more fun as I didn't have to wait in line or fight the crowd for it. The person that was running it was super friendly and helpful too. The jazz musician was pretty rad too. And they had valet!! Butler Valet: All the friendly guys in uniform waiting for you as you arrived during rush hour in downtown: pretty darn cool. All events should be this cool. I'm only going to events with valet from now on! Ok thanks. It was a simple process to make a reservation on their website, and I was even able to make a note that I was celebrating my birthday. Aerlume is right next to Pike's Place, so finding parking may be a challenge but don't let that discourage you from trying it out. Service was amazing and the food was really good too. While waiting for my appetizer, the chef brought me a steak sashimi amuse bouche that was absolutely delicious!! My mouth is watering thinking about it. I kept it light with the citrus marinated beets as my appetizer. Although I don't usually eat beets, I thought this dish was so good! For my main course, I got the C.A.B. filet mignon. The steak was cooked perfectly and everything tasted so good together. I was amazed by the how thick the asparagus was! I did inhale my food quite fast so I passed on dessert in favor of hot tea, but their dessert selection also sounded yum. I regret not getting the carrot cake. I had a great experience dining here and would love to eat outside in the future! Also, if you're wondering, I don't believe there's a dress code. The congee was a perfect thickness, with flavors you don't usually have in congee...but it works! It's a nice and light way to start the meal. It's a shame that you don't see pork shank on more restaurant menus, because it is a criminally underrated cut of meat. The shank at Aerlume falls completely off the bone with just a nudge of your fork. The rich savory flavor of the meat is perfectly complemented by the sauce and the chutney, which brightens it all up and keeps it from becoming overly heavy in your mouth and stomach. Brussels on the side are your standard incredibly crispy sprouts. We also ordered the bread and butter off the a la carte menu, just to try. The breads are excellent, and you can definitely taste the ube in the ube butter, but in my opinion this is one of those cases where adding ube just isn't necessary. They did forget about our bread, so this didn't show up for us until we asked about it most of the way through our meal. The dessert duo is made up of a square of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and a chocolate crunch bar -- devastatingly smooth chocolate mousse on top of a thin crunchy wafer with raspberry sauce on the side. I appreciated the variety of flavors and textures. It was the perfect way to round out the meal. We had an excellent meal, accompanied by great service. It would be a perfect spot for a celebratory dinner, or to take parents to when they visit town.
