We went to McCaw for a comedy show and the venue was beautiful! I'm looking forward to The Nutcracker this winter! I would say the only downside is that the drinks and snacks are crazy overpriced, but that's not atypical. Wonderful time!

Tasty treats in the 2nd floor lobby.

We recently came to McCaw Hall to see the Nutcracker with our little one. It was a fantastic experience and a beautiful concert hall. We loved standing in the 2nd floor lobby watching all the people milling around downstairs and enjoying a delicious old-fashioned and a cupcake while doing so. Another lovely thing they do is let you pre-order a drink for intermission. This worked out so well.

I came to see "Shen Yun" show last night with my hubby. The closest parking lot to the hall is across the road. Event perking fee $35. I recommend that you come to the parking lot as early as possible. *Note that it gets very crowded when exiting. The parking lot is connected by a sky bridge, so it is convenient to use it. I showed my e-ticket at the entrance and went inside. The inside of the hall is warm and comfortable. There are many modern sofas in the hall so you can sit freely. We went to the bar to have cocktails and take pictures. I would like to ask everyone not to wear in jeans & T-shirt if possible. And I would like to ask you to be in your seat 10 minutes before the start.

Such a magical night at the Nutcracker. This is a beautiful theater which great seating but the set and stage is what I will remember the most. Simply said it was a gorgeous performance and by far my favorite Nutcracker experience I have had. My godson loved it as well and they had lots of very cool props to take photos in downstairs. Highly recommended experience at McCaw Hall

The place is really nice. Nice venue for sure. Can't wait to catch another play of some kind.

This is a 4 and a half star review. I really like McCaw Hall. It's one of the better venues in the Seattle area. The sound is amazing, and the views are unobstructed. They primarily host the Seattle Opera and the Pacific Northwest Ballet. There are occasionally traveling shows. Once I saw Steven Tyler of Aerosmith fame here. Wow! The seats can be quite elevated in this venue. If you bought nosebleed tickets, you're either hiking up several flights (up to 5 or 6 flights, I think), or learn there are elevators at the two ends. And bring binoculars! I've sat on the first rows, and they are considered to be not-ideal for both opera and ballet. For opera, you need to look at the very top of the stage to see the translation. For ballet, you don't see the feet of the dancers sometimes. In both cases, though the complaint is real, I thought it was a fair trade-off for the lower price and yet awesome up-close seats. Today, we tried side seats on the gallery, row H. These have a higher slope, making them closer to stadium seating. I love them! I'm short, and I still see past the person in front of me just fine without leaning. Food and drinks: Well, it's expensive. That's just a fact. In the intermission area, the food options are very limited. Don't rush here expecting to find a good snack that isn't junk food. There is a full restaurant on the ground floor. It leans on being pricey but the food appears to be good. If you're cost conscious, eating at the Armory is the best bet. Shopping: Their gift shop, by far, is my absolute favorite at all venues. (Teatro ZinZanni is the second.) Whoever their curator is, applause. I always end up leaving with something, not related to the show! Parking: This is the minus half star from five stars. The attached parking lot, operated by Seattle Center charges $20 during events. Steep but the most convenient. However, I have in the past, more than once, been trapped in that damn parking lot for nearly 30 minutes trying to leave it after a show. It's chaos leaving the lot. If you're lucky, there are people directing flow forcing drivers to leave the lot at the first possible exit, which is the right way to leave. But these attendants don't always stay for long even though there are still cars leaving the lot. So annoying. Today, we tried the leave ASAP, don't-clap-for-the-actors, and don't-go-use-the-bathroom method. We booked it out of that lot in a record 9 minutes. Sometimes, you can find street parking, other lots, but plan ahead and arrive early.

Since then, every visit has been fantastic. The staff has been noticeably more attentive, welcoming, and genuinely focused on creating a great guest experience. I've been coming to Jazz Alley since 2005, and over the past 20 years it has been the place where I've celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, business dinners, and evenings out with family and friends. Some of my favorite memories in Seattle have been made here--introducing guests from out of town to world-class jazz, sharing dinner with my son, and enjoying unforgettable performances with my partner and close friends. What stands out now is that the service once again matches the caliber of the musicians on stage. Servers are attentive without being intrusive, food arrives on time, and the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming again. No restaurant or venue gets it right 100% of the time, but what matters is listening to customers and making improvements. Jazz Alley appears to have done exactly that, and I truly appreciate it. It's great to have one of Seattle's iconic venues back to providing the complete experience--exceptional music paired with exceptional hospitality. I'll continue bringing family, friends, clients, and visitors here for many years to come. Bravo to the entire Jazz Alley team.

I understand Lydia Pense and her band are popular in R&B circles and the Bay area, so, we thought we'd check them out. Especially when I learned there was a Tower of Power connection. The show was energetic and Cold Blood warmed the audience up from start to finish! The ensemble captivated the venue with a few of their old favorites including, "You Got Me Hummin," "I Just Want To Make Love To You," "I'm A Good Woman," and "Down to the Bone." As usual, the front-of-the-house staff was welcoming and accommodating! We were seated almost immediately at our table to begin dinner before the show. Jazz Alley appreciates your early arrival if you're having dinner to minimize disruptions while the show is going on. We started the evening with Sauvignon Blanc and Old Fashioned, and Jazz Alley's calamari appetizer. For entrees on this visit, we chose the seared Wild King Salmon and the Vegetable Lasagna. The salmon was a generous size portion of fish with a nice sear and moist. It was served with lemon-turmeric jasmine rice pilaf, steamed asparagus, and cherry tomatoes. The lasagna was also a good size portion that included eggplant, spinach, mushrooms, basil, ricotta, parmesan and mozzarella, served on a bed of rich San Marzano tomato sauce and topped with pesto. It was delicious. For dessert we opted for the Molten Chocolate Cake and Key Lime Pie. The warm French vanilla chocolate cake included a molten center and was served with sweet, whipped cream and caramel sauce. The Key Lime Pie (my favorite) is custard baked in a graham cracker crust and topped with sweet, whipped cream. We thoroughly enjoyed both!

If one of your favorite bands comes here, you will have an amazing, close and personal experience! The drinks are good, fairly reasonably priced. It is an STG location, so the service is good and consistent! The Showbox is one of those Seattle venues where the atmosphere is almost as memorable as the show itself. The historic architecture gives the space a distinctive character, while the interior combines old-school concert-hall charm with a gritty, intimate rock-and-roll aesthetic. The exposed brick, high ceilings, dark finishes, and vintage details create a setting that feels authentic rather than overly polished. What really makes The Showbox special, though, is its size. It is large enough to accommodate a great crowd but small enough that you never feel disconnected from the performance. There is an intimacy to the room that makes even a larger touring act feel like they are playing a much more personal show. The sound quality is another major highlight. The relatively compact layout means the music feels immediate and powerful without losing the clarity of the instruments or vocals. You can actually hear and experience the performance rather than simply watching it from a distance. Whether you're standing near the stage or farther back in the venue, the acoustics help create a consistently immersive experience. Overall, The Showbox is a fantastic place to see live music. The unique architecture and decor give it plenty of personality, while the smaller footprint, strong acoustics, and close proximity to the stage create the kind of concert experience that larger arenas simply can't replicate. It feels like a true Seattle institution--and exactly what a great live music venue should be.
