We came for a theater performance which was entertaining. The venue is nice and clean and the staff professional. Plan for parking though and give yourself some extra time.

Great spot to catch a stage performance. Highly recommend their Public Works shows, which feature cast members from the general public, very cool. Most plays at the Rep have a contemporary twist of some kind. They always do a great job with casting, set, and movement. Seems a shame not to go and partake if there is a show that piques your interest in any way.

Came here to see "The Woman in Black". Before I talk a little about the play and performance, the Seattle Repertory Theater is a great place to watch a play/performance. It's located in LQA(lower queen anne) off Mercer about a block from Met Market. Just google it, you'll find it easily. Friendly and helpful greetings by the staff and nice looking as you enter the building. There's a rotunda in the back where they serve alcohol and another concession stand that serve beer, non alcoholic drinks, snacks, coffee & tea etc. Restrooms are good size for you to go #1 and god forbid if you have to go #2. There's also a souvenir shop to buy some gifts and things. Inside the theater, it was bigger than I thought, but it also looks small. There's balcony seats, and 3 sections at stage level. Be sure to look at your ticket to find your section then your row then your seat #. A lot of people seem to try to find their seats in wrong sections. Stage was fine, great views from where we sat in section 3 near the stage. The "Woman in Black" play was wonderful, it's kind of spooky, eerie, and very entertaining with good amount of humor. Only 3 actors perform this play, mainly it's only 2 actors, their performance was wonderful! I enjoyed this very much, there are some loud noises that may startle you and some dry ice special effects, so hopefully that doesn't bother you. About 1 hour per Act, with about a 15 min intermission. Total time is just under 2.5 hours for this play. I believe this play ends at the end of March 24 2019, so there's not much time left to get tickets. Glad I got a chance to see this, glad to have come to watch a performance at Seattle Rep, I plan on coming by more often. The area is busy with the weekend crowd, a lot of traffic, parking madness, I saw a Limebike outside, I jumped on and rode off into the sunset.

Seattle Rep is almost a hidden gem in the community that not enough people know how superb it is. Some seriously top notch plays and musicals have played here. "Come From Away" had its world premiere here before heading to Broadway and was nominated for best new show. The Hershey Felder musical series are amazing! I found each production in both theatres to be very well produced even if I may not fully appreciate the content itself (they can't all be gems!). Because the theatres are modest seats, there are (almost) no bad seats. I do much prefer the orchestra seats in both the theatres here. Speaking of which, there are two theatres, make sure you go to the correct one. Bagley Wright is the bigger one and closest to the box office. Leo K. is the smaller one; definitely no bad seats at the Leo K. The real big secret that no one knows about - is the price! 1. Day-of rush tickets - 50% off ticket prices. Score! 2. Pay-what-you-want - This made my jaw drop. It's a minimum of $1 when you pay in cash or a minimum of $5 with card. I can't believe I'm sharing this secret with you all!!!

Watched The Woman in Black here. The place is pretty small compared to paramount theatre and Seattle opera. Doesn't have the machinery or advanced set pieces like the above. But I thoroughly enjoyed the show nonetheless. Big points for seating. Since it's a relatively small space, most seats are good. I also like their seating style, with the elevation, in this way no one's head blocks you. The actual show was amazing. Great use of lighting and sound system. Pro grade stuff! Bottled water is just 2 bucks. Usually other places try to gouge you by charging way higher. Overall concessions seemed reasonably priced. Excited to try other shows here. New location to the list along with paramount and opera.

This theater is great! I came here from out of town last weekend to see "Two Trains Running". The performance, sound, lighting, and excellent set design were well worth the trip! I found it interesting that there was a young lady sitting next to the stage with the play on a stand with a light. The lady next to me also asked what that was about. Then, at one point in the performance, one of the actors forgot his line. She read his line and he quickly got back on track. Despite that particular actor flubbing a few lines and character names, the performance (including his own) was excellent! The direction and acting were great! I also liked the August Wilson Door that's a block behind the main entrance of the theater. I highly recommend this theater to all Seattlelites, Seattlons, (I don't know what you guys are called, but you should go there!)

(cut and pasted from Bagley Wright Theater) Seattle has so many venues and festivals that celebrate the arts. I happen to read about about the Seattle Reperatory at Bagley Wright Theater completing a major overhaul for a new show. Literally, that evening I bought tickets online for the 2pm show for "Here Lies Love". Missed out on getting U2 tickets, so this is a spontaneous splurge. Scored on street parking diagonal from the venue on 4/16/17, which was sheer luck since our tickets were held at will call and no late seating. Darn Seattle traffic! Lots of anticipation leaning against the stage and loved the huge sparkly disco ball. Photography was strictly prohibited, so couldn't get a snap to share. The show presented the life of Imelda Marcos, former First Lady of the Philippines. Being of Filipino descent, this intrigued me. My lone trip to the PI in 1978 brought back some of the imagery of that era. Nasty, corrupt, excessive political times, but also the love of all things beautiful. Parts had me conflicted because this was based on actual history. But like living under today's administration, hope and happiness can happen from living in the moment. I thoroughly enjoyed being on the main floor (versus the balcony and reserved seating) and having the production in one's face. I even held hands with the actor who performed as Ninoy Aquino. Music, bright costumes, lights, glitz, videography, amazing stage, and lots of dancing! Reminded me of carefree nights of going to clubs from another lifetime. A major gamble for this venue to take this on, but kudos for bringing this innovative production to Seattle. Totally different, energetic, and loved that the entire ensemble were people of color. Talented people that looked like me! This was also a first theatrical musical that I brought The Homie. He enjoyed attending and wasn't even embarassed that his mom was shaking and shimmying wholeheartedly. The 90 minutes flew by! Fun times created by David Byrne and Fat Boy Slim.

An excellent theater to take your friends and family. This theater may be small compared to the 5th Avenue or Paramount however makes up with their innovative staging and overall customer service experience. I have been here twice and both times saw the musical Here Lies Love. The stage design was phenomenal. There are moving platforms and intricate lighting sequences enough to dazzle and captivate audiences. The view from the balcony was unobstructed thanks in part to the stadium style seating. There are 2 drink concession stands offering beverages including wine and beer. I ordered a People's Power Punch which was a tasty concoction of absolut ruby red vodka, pamplemousse liquer, pink grapefruit juice and soda. Drinks are allowed in the lobby area however not in the theater. I recommend checking out the Rotunda and enjoying a couple of cocktails before the show. The staff was friendly and restroom facilities were stocked and clean. Parking is a difficult situation which is understandable in the Seattle Center area. I recommend taking public transportation or a Lyft.

Came here to see Familiar. It's a cozy theater. I don't think there were any bad seats in the house. Plenty of bathrooms and stalls. There's a concession area as you walk thru and also a bar area in the Rotunda. Staff were very nice and helpful. Lots of parking options around the area, but we got lucky and parked on the street and had a nice little walk. Was a Sunday, so parking on street was free! I loved that they allow you to bring your drinks into the theater. Not like other places where you feel like you have to guzzle it before going in. They also have a nice little shop with lots of cool, hand-crafted things; jewelry, art, purses, clothing pieces... Can't wait to check out other shows here!

They have plenty of lighting and good sound. They don't have a stage fly space for scenery and backdrops like the the Paramount or classic theaters. I would assume they can bring in linoleum for dance performances, but it was not there for the performance I saw. The lobby is nice with a ticketing alcove, and a simple bar with a limited selection of brewed coffee, mixed drinks, beer, and wine. They should add espresso. I was visiting Seattle. Residents are familiar with the Seattle world of parking and transit. So my comments on parking are for visitors. On the Boards is in Lower Queen Anne adjacent to the Seattle Center performance hall NW corner. It is a dense apartment an condo zone. That means there are opportunities for drinking/dining, but fierce parking. There is a gravel paid lot across the street by an apartment with a scanable QR payment system by Google/Apple Pay that works, and the parking company even sends a customer survey. Queen Anne, as the hill rises, has a parking permit system blocking lower visitor parking - read the signs carefully. If you love contemporary performance. One major drawback- they serve alcohol in glass bottles, which, would have be fine if the venue wasn't, well "on the boards". The bottles were periodically kicked and broken (mistakenly, of course) and distracted immensely from the performance. I give it one awkward fist up the "you know what" up. What??
