Went to see the Odesza Laser show! Its definitely a lot of fun, a family friendly event, and in an area where you can explore much more as well. We walked right in, no line. The staff was very courteous and helpful. When you enter the dome is really cool, you can lay down or sit on chairs. We laid down but by the thirty minute mark your body starts to ache a little. Also the show was not directly overhead rather slightly forward facing (most of the time) so you should think about bringing a pillow! Right when the show started the lasers were pretty sub par, but by the middle they added more lasers from different directions and smoke which really elevated the visuals to the next step. The music started off wayyy too loud, my ears adjusted over time but afterwards it was hard to hear ppl next to me. There's really no need for it to be that loud when we're so close to the speakers and we're not competing with audience cheers. Was a fun hour spent! But I think there is much more room for improvement. read more

Went to the Ariana Grande show a few weeks ago! There's a live DJ, and she encouraged us to sing, cheer, do whatever and have fun. There's were not a ton of people at my show, most of us were leaned back and relaxed on seats though halfway through the show a few people went to lie on the ground under the dome. Loved the song choices of the DJ, and the accompanying lasers were really fun! And for the price, it's overall a great way to spend an evening! read more

A teenager's intro to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. I was 14 or 15 at the time. My friend invited me to her birthday party at the Laser Dome (Pacific Science Center). I had never been to a laser show before. We all piled into her mom's 90s era Ford Escort station wagon and made our way to Seattle Center. It was an evening showing. We found a spot on the floor, spread out our blankets, and watched beams of light dance to the music of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Glad I was able to experience this early on; glad I had fun friends as a teen. Returned to the Laser Dome many years later for a date. Went to the general admission daytime showing. The Pac Sci admission price included the daytime laser showings. We sat in chairs; the floor was already occupied. Babies crying, kids being kids, parents looking defeated, grandparents checked out/asleep. Nothing like domestic drama unfolding right in front of our eyes. Ermahgerd. The show's quality wasn't that great but I guess it was appropriate for that kind of audience/demographic. Best believe I will never return to a daytime showing and succumb myself to that kind of environment again. I learned my lesson. I highly recommend the evening shows over the general admission shows. Sure you'll pay more but if you're looking for a quality show minus the circus behavior, then look into the later hours. read more

The Laser Dome is something every local should check out at least once. I think I have been going here since I was a teenager. It's a good way to spend an hour with some friends when you are looking for something to do in and around the Seattle Center. You don't have to be visiting the Pacific Science Center to use this but it is located inside their gates. The shows change often so you may have to wait until they are playing something with music you enjoy. There are usually multiple options per week, you can also view the calendar online. My last visit was 15$ each and easy to book online in advance, no more waiting in long lines in the cold for late night shows. For those that don't know you do have the option to lay on the floor and look up at the dome. Smart people bring pillows and blankets, but you can make due with nothing if you forget. There are chairs too if that is not your thing, but I imagine it would hurt your neck after awhile. They sell snacks. There is access to bathrooms. It was a little hard to tell what the DJ was saying, but that part really is not that important. read more

Tickets were $18/person for the night shows. However, if you buy at least 24 hours in advance, you get a small discount ($15/person I believe), so plan ahead! We went for the 10:30pm Odesza show on a Friday night. Doors opened 10 minutes prior to showtime and we were able to get a spot on the floor as others had recommended. Some people brought blankets and pillows, but it's not necessary. I'd say 90% of the attendees staked out a spot on the floor. Only a few people sat in the seats. Not sure how many tickets they try to sell, but at least there was ample space. It was a little annoying how people came in late (up to 15-20 minutes past start time). Interesting, especially as the tickets indicate NO LATE SEATING. What was really disappointing was the light show itself. I wasn't expecting anything like the lights at a rave, but I felt like this experience left something to be desired. For starters, I expected the whole dome to be utilized, but it was really only a portion of the dome. A lot of the designs were repetitive, so it actually was quite boring. My boyfriend and my friend ended up falling asleep 10 minutes into the show, so it felt like a waste of money. I might as well just lie on the floor at home, blasting songs from the artist of my choice, and project lights onto the ceiling. read more

I saw Laser Taylor Swift a few weeks ago at the Laser Dome and it was fantastic! I'm a huge Swiftie and was so impressed by the whole production. They played songs from every album and it seemed like a lot of care was put into the laser production for each song. Love Story and Look What You Made Me Do were especially memorable and my personal faves. Music is a little loud so I would recommend bringing earplugs just in case. Parking can also be difficult so definitely factor in some time for that as well. They have a small concessions stand when you walk in for snacks and drinks, and some people brought picnic blankets. My friend and I arrived just before the show started so all the floor space was unfortunately taken, but we still had a great experience from the chairs! Also - you can purchase tickets online in advance to skip the line! Definitely worth the trip if you're a fan of a particular artist. Can't wait to see more shows here in the future! read more

The film was great and I would come back for more educational films. It's a nice thing to do with the family. Only downside is that outside is not very aesthetic... just large wall, very empty looking, no decor, very spartan structure, we weren't even sure we were at the right place. Laser Floyd is exactly why you come for the experience. My first journey was simply mind altering. I felt the music of the mighty Pink Floyd in a way not even Roger Waters even dreamed about when he wrote Dark Side of The Moon or The Wall. Needless to say I was tripping balls so my senses were already on overload when I laid on the floor watching multicolored lasers formatting visual images that bent my mind and cosmic senses into another dimension. It's well worth the money for your flight to the unknown, just grab some space and enrich your mind through the laser. FYI the experience is very stimulating so if you have psychotic embolism issues from intense lighting I'd stay home. However if you free your mind and excerpt the rays of the pure light within to your soul the mind will thank you on your journey of life. read more

Is there ever a bad time to go to the Laser Dome?! No, no there's not. Being a Seattlitle, I have some really fond memories of the Laser Dome as a kid during the day and as a teen/adult during night. There are a lot of "staple" shows that you can always expect to see (well, many not ALWAYS and forever...but know this, Laser Dome: Pink Floyd, at a minimum belongs on the permanent list) as well as several limited time/rotating shows and special events. Great for music lovers with the added visual stimulation. Definitely great for a night out on the town!! read more

Wow. We ended up seeing two laser shows while in Seattle and both were absolutely amazing and unique. This is one of the top places to see laser shows *in the world* and it really shows in their quality of performances, friendly staff and overall experiences. I also love that they feature shows with a broad range of music and do shows multiple times a night. There are regular seats and also a floor seating area where you can lay on the ground. There are very clean restrooms available outside of the venue and they occasionally sell candy. An exceptionally unique experience I can't wait to travel to Seattle again for! read more

I'm definitely going to come back for other shows in the future (hopefully stranger things comes back). This was a pretty neat activity to do at the Pacific Science Center. I had no idea it existed until the bf and I took his niece/nephew on a downtown Seattle excursion. We watched the Lady Gaga one and it was really cool! I recognized all the songs so I'm glad they included non-radio songs too. The songs that stood out for me were... Boys Boys Boys and Bad Romance! I had no idea what to expect and was a little confused when I saw people with pillows and blankets but apparently, they were the smart ones! It gets kind of tiring having to look up during the whole show so lying down on the floor is probably more comfortable. I'd be interested in seeing the Daft Punk show because it was a nice and different thing to do! read more

When I was researching interesting things to check out for our weekend in Seattle, the Laser Dome stood out. Lasers? DJ? Sounds like an EDM concert, except not. We bought 10:30pm SZA tickets and found a nice spot to settle on the floor. Soon, the lasers started blasting on the dome. The show was quite entertaining and I was very impressed by how it was put together. Sound quality could've been better, but hey, it's a part of a museum. read more

Great thing to do late Friday or Saturday night when you're under 21 and can't go out anywhere or if you're of age, but don't want to deal with stupid drunk people at the club/bar. Or it's cool for an effortless date night too. The earlier shows are usually filled with families, the later shows are usually filled with people stoned or possibly rolling out of their mind. The artists they use either changes or rotate so you can continue to come here without having it be repetitive. My favorite show so far is Lady Gaga. I believe for $50, you can request a custom message or design. I wouldn't mind getting propose this way, although the answer will still probably be no. The price is relatively cheap, it usually last around an hour. If you're a Pacific Science member, it's even cheaper. I advice you to bring blankets/pillow to lay on the ground to get the full experience looking up at the lights. I have been coming here for years now for the night time laser shows. It was actually my husband's and I first date ever! We thought it'd be so sweet to come here again for our first wedding anniversary after dinner. Little did he know I called ahead and scheduled a custom laser message to wish us a happy anniversary! This place rocks! After freezing in line outside for 30 minutes, standing, as there is nowhere to sit to wait at 10 pm, we were walked back into the laser dome. Cost is $9 per adult. They have snacks and drinks relative to a movie theatre at a small table just before going in. The dome itself is like a small movie theatre with a lot of floor room down front. A lot of people brought pillows and blankets, and the gal in charge of the event encouraged people to relax and chill. We saw the special laser show put together by C89.5 with a variety of techno/club music. The room is totally dark which takes your eyes a minute to get use to, along with how loud the music starts, then you're fine. The lasers are awesome and the shapes started out as simple designs like squares but then got a bit more in depth and complex as time went on. I'll definitely be returning! Parking is ridiculous as it's downtown and at the Space Needle. read more

This was a fun experience. Went to the BTS laser show and I am super glad I went. There are seats, and a floor space in the middle where people can lie down (can bring pillows). It's super loud so if you are sensitive with loud sounds perhaps bring ear plugs. One thing though, if you are tall I suggest not sitting in the seats since you'll most likely be cramped. I'm 5'8 which was perfectly fine for me, but my partner is 6'1 and had a very hard time sitting since his knees were pushing against the seats in front of us. I hope that they will have more BTS laser shows in the future since I think it's only during August 2018. Overall, I do recommend this place! I will definitely go again. read more

I saw the Daft Punk show at 8PM on a Friday night and really enjoyed the experience at the Pacific Science Center! Guests line up near the ticket booth at the center of the PSC campus. The line for entry was difficult to find -it's located on the north side at the entrance/exit stairs between the PSC and the Seattle Children's Theater/Chihuly Garden & Glass. If you're taking a taxi, ask your driver to drop you on 2nd Ave OR Broad Street, then walk towards the center to find the Laser Dome line. Bottled soft drinks and candy are available for purchase at a table just before you enter the dome. You can ask for free earplugs here, as well. There is a place to lie down on the ground or seats available - if you choose to lie down, make sure you get in line early as it's first-come-first-serve. Blankets and pillows are allowed! Also, there is an option to get a personalized message (not sure of the process or payment) displayed with lasers during the show - we saw a nice "happy birthday" note to one of the audience members when attending. The lasers and sound system were fantastic - great place for a little surprise date night. read more

It's affordable and they have a great variety of shows, there's something for nearly everyone's musical tastes. What a fun show! This was my first laser light show, despite wanting to see one for many years. There are several show music options currently available, including: Daft Punk, Lady Gaga, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Gorriliaz, an EDM mix, and a couple of specials called Symphony of the Stars and a Holiday Magic show. There are matinee times as well as Thursday through Sunday night options. On this visit, I saw the EDM show at 10:30 on a Friday night and was not disappointed. The first thing our group of 30-somethings noticed is that we were definitely the oldest people there. By far. And probably the only ones who had not partaken of a special herb. LOL. But that didn't stop us from having a great time. The music was awesome (I think the kids these days say "on fleek") and I recognized most of the songs. It was also really loud so I wore earplugs (old alert). The lasers bounced across the screen in perfect sync to the tunes for roughly 50 minutes while we munched on our candy and beverages purchased from the concession stand. At a cost of $10.50 for evening shows ($7 on Thursdays), this is a good deal and a lot of fun. Check it out. read more

I am an adult who enjoys two things 1) lasers and 2) MORE LASERS. This place is positively amazing. Not only is the concept rare, but the execution is amazing. Every show is LIVE with a DJ, and the variations are magnificent. I love the split seating options between chairs or lying down on the floor, and the sound is great within the dome. I will say I'm perturbed that there is not an option to attended matinee shows without buying a general admission to the Pacific Science Center, but their evening shows (twice as long as matinee) make up for it. I just wish they had bulk purchase options so it's not a la carte every time! read more

My girlfriend and I decided to use up one of our Seattle nights checking out the Daft Punk show (because I'm a yooge Daft Punk fan) and we had a pretty enjoyable experience! After reading reviews, we knew to come early and wait in line (it's just in the middle of the PSC campus, enter from front of Chihuly/Space Needle rather than the PSC entrance and you'll find it), brought some pillows and a blanket, and we were good to go! Find a spot in the middle where you can lie down and let the show start without much expectation and you'll have a blast. My only gripe was that the bass was absurdly loud, like reviews have said. Made me a bit sad since it takes away from the integrity of the songs, so maybe bring some earplugs? And yeah, could be a nice and plurfect night for those of you interested, but please don't. read more

For $10 a ticket, this makes for an excellent cheap night out! My partner and I went for Laser Gaga on a Thursday evening and had a blast! It was my first true laser show experience so I didn't know exactly what I was in for (didn't realize that laying on the floor was a recommended seating option), but it did not disappoint. The dome didn't have quite the same state-of-the-art feel as the IMAX theater, but it fit the mood and purpose just fine! The show was about an hour in length with a good assortment of hits and a few deeper Gaga cuts. The music was LOUD. Somewhere near live concert volume. Which is great for the full experience, but I would definitely recommend ear muffs for anybody bringing a youngster along - I could definitely sympathize for Gene in that one episode of Bob's Burgers. As for the laser display, it started out with cool trippy patterns and they gradually showcase more artwork-based songs and other tricks and features as the show went on which kept things exciting. Having no idea what to expect, when the first smoke effects kick in it definitely made me go "Wooooaahh!" like someone an acid trip at a Grateful Dead concert. Cheaper than a movie, suitable for all ages (given that the music is appropriate), and your ticket goes to support a good cause. I will gladly return to check out one of their other laser shows! read more

The Laser Dome is absolutely must-see experience in Seattle. I haven't seen anything like it in any other city. I know "laser show" sounds weird and like a concert but you have to experience it to see how mind blowing it is. I have seen Pink Floyd (both The Wall and DSOTM), Deadmau5, EDM, Daft punk, Lady gaga (for some visiting friends, not a huge fan myself) - you name it. All the shows were great but Daft Punk and The Wall were the most epic. The Wall was in its own league, even if you haven't heard the album. The dark, sudden and loud start was capable of giving goosebumps to everyone. The visuals were also detailed with some story line. Compared to that the other shows don't have that much of a story or meaningful animation. Wifey and I used to go out for a dinner followed by the midnight show of The Wall on Saturday nights. It was our thing to do every few months. Unfortunately, for some reason The Wall is no longer on the menu even though it always gathered a decent audience for a midnight show. That's such a heart break that I won't be able to see that again. I really wish they bring The Wall back on one of the weekend nights. Due to a busy parent life, I haven't been there in last couple of years but I look forward to checking out some shows from the current lineup pretty soon. read more

Went for a Friday night show with EDM music. Like other reviewers mentioned, you have to wait in freezing cold to buy tickets and wait until they let you walk in. So, either buy tickets online or layer up heavily since there's no indoor spot to wait. The show has a DJ in the background that voices over in between songs. The EDM show had few good tracks but it was more of top hits than trance and a couple of tracks were boring. Overall, for $9 its a cool experience since its like a super mini concert with music and laser lights to stare at (or trip on, depending on your style ;) ). The regulars brought pillows, blankets, munchies and what not. I'll definitely keep that in mind for next time, as you can really chill that way rather than sitting in the not-so-comfortable chairs and having to crane your neck looking at the dome. One of the best features of the Pacific Science Center, if you come for the laser matinees, it is only $3 if you have a ticket to the PSC itself. Otherwise, the evening shows are a very reasonable $9 - same price or cheaper than the movies! I've seen the Laser Beatles twice now and enjoyed it very much. First time we sat in the chairs and second time we laid down on the floor. Floor is better, although I wish I had brought a blanket or cushion for my back. You also have to watch out if it gets crowded, as someone kept bumping into me and nearly kicked me in the head once. They offer quite a range of shows from Michael Jackson to Gaga to No Doubt or Bob Marley, so you should be able to find one that suits your taste. And where else are you going to get to see an awesome laser show with a great, clear sound system. read more

I've seen Pink Floyd "The Wall", Daft Punk, Laser Mau5 and Skrillex. All amazing shows. The sound system is absolutely insane and the music selection for each artist combined with the visuals, it's almost better than seeing the artist live. ALMOST ;) **Make sure you get there about 30-45 minutes early to get a decent seat. If you're going to be laying down, make sure you bring a pillow and blanket to lay on for ULTIMATE COMFORT.
