Shrimp and Grits with smoked sausage.
    Larry W.

Been a long time customer of the Reef, but this is my first time writing a review. Had an evening dinner with the family on May 16, 2026. We sat out on the deck and as always it was very nice. I had the Shrimp with Grits and was a different version than what I have seen. The grit cakes were coated with either a Panko or Tempura batter which gave it a nice texture and the sauce was creamy with smoke sausage. It was very delicious and the wait staff were very friendly. I definitely would recommend for you to try this version.

We both lived our orders. Server was nice and helpful. This was are first time visting Biloxi . We enjoyed our stay everyone was friendly and helpful.

Was unable to eat here. I have celiac disease and can't have gluten. Menu is napkin sized at hostess and was read off to me quickly. I then asked to take a photo. Server then told me they used a lot of butter in their food...trying to explain his gluten knowledge. No gluten in butter BTW. We walked next door where they do have a gluten free menu and my family felt safe.

The Reef is located right on the beach in Biloxi, and has been in business for several years. It is an excellent spot for lunch or dinner, has lots of seating indoors and out, and has a menu full of options for those who don't want seafood. It's also great for big groups. This is where my work takes new hires after hours just to hang out and get to know everyone. Vendors sometimes pick this spot for group outings, as well. It has plenty of parking and is very easy to find on Highway 90. We usually start with some grilled oysters or the smoked tuna dip appetizer, and both are excellent. The gator and pickles appetizer is also good when you have a big group because you get a lot. They have over a dozen starter options and I've tried most at some point, with no complaints. On my last visit, I got the shrimp and grits, and could not even finish it. You get a large bowl full of shrimp plus two grit cakes on top, and it's all in a cream sauce that is amazing. Shrimp and grits can be found at many coast restaurants and The Reef has one of the best. My wife ordered the teriyaki salmon bowl that includes mandarin oranges, and it's a much healthier option that she really enjoyed. In previous visits, I've had their catfish monica, which is very similar to the catfish supreme dish served at their sister restaurant called Salute down the beach in Gulfport. I've also had some of their pasta dishes and the seafood platter. It's all good. Definitely check The Reef out if you are in the area and want to try a locally owned spot that knows what they're doing. The portions are plenty and service has always been great.

Great food and excellent service. I got the catfish and shrimp basket. This came with fries. The shrimp are not huge. They are baby-sized shrimp, but this was not a big deal for me. It was well seasoned, and I enjoyed my meal. We arrived on a Tuesday night, the week of Thanksgiving. It was not full. We were immediately sat. We had a choice of inside or outside seating. We also had charbroiled oysters which were really good. My husband had the catfish sandwich, which he said was good. The coleslaw was good but for $1 I wish the serving was bigger. The major flaw that I have is that the alcoholic drinks had barely any alcohol in them. I was going to order the Cat 5 Hurricane like my husband, but after trying his, I decided not to. Ten dollars for juice was not worth it. So I settled for water. They need to work on adjusting the amount of alcohol in their drinks. But go for the food.

Stopped by The Reef while on Thanksgiving vacation to visit family and the night before Thanksgiving we stopped by the Reef to enjoy a meal that I was looking forward to since I really enjoy seafood. When walking in you enter through the gift shop with plenty of T-shirts and accessories and it wasn't to busy & we were seated promptly to our table. I ordered the catfish sandwich at fries, my wife had the seafood platter and my brother in law and his wife had the oysters and seafood platter. My sandwich was seasoned well and was prepared great. My meal was really good and everyone else enjoyed thiers as well and we also ordered drinks and ours didn't seem to have much if any alcohol in it so that was a bit of a let down but overall the experience was good and I'll definitely come back.

We went at a fabulous time. A Thursday at 130pm. We were maybe one of 8 tables in the place so we walked right in and got sat. We ordered a pina colada and it was horrible. They took it back and said they "hand made it" so it may have been off. The queso chicken is amazingly fresh , zesty and addictive. Husband got Mahi Mahi and a crab cake came with it. He loved both. The restaurant sits on the beach and has all the art on the outside front of building. It's a nice place. There are elevators if you can't make it up those steps.

Came to eat here after I ran a 5k. We sat on the deck, which had a great view! Our waiter was super friendly. The chips and salsa was a good appetizer. I also had the red beans and rice with the catfish. Very big portion sizes! The food was excellent! Would definitely come back!

The view here is great but the food absolutely stole the show! I don't think I will ever stop thinking about the chargrilled New Orleans style oysters. They were so freaking good. The mahi mahi with mandarin pico was good but didn't compare to the oysters. Service was good and I would definitely recommend this place! Looking forward to my next road trip so I can come back.

    Chargrilled oysters

Biggest oysters I've ever gotten anywhere, and for the money, well worth it. The food was 10/10- well seasoned and cooked to perfection. There was nothing left on our plate but wads of napkins from wiping the buttery shrimp and corn off our faces.

Second floor was closed so we didn't eat at the restaurant. However, we went to the third floor, which is more of a bar. They do serve food there. We ordered the fried okra, gumbo, red beans and rice. My wife is a huge fried okra fan - and she said that was some of the best fried okra she's had in years. The gumbo and the red beans and rice were excellent. they both had a great amount of spice. Nothing overbearing. It is a little pricier than I expected, however, it is in the tourist area on the main strip. For as busy as they were, the staff was excellent. They are patient and professional - they make sure all needs are met and that your visit is the best. Couldn't see much because it was late at night when we were there, but it is located on the water off the main drag. I did see from the parking lot that there is a playground outside for kids. There's plenty of parking on site with easy access and exit.

Are dogs allowed on the deck?

    Yes!

Is it accessible for a mobility scooter?

Yes sir I do believe this was one of the restaurants we went to that had an elevator. We had my 82 year old grandma with us she couldn't climb the stairs so that was a plus

Was the food as great as The Toasted Yolk? nope Was it good enough to start a slow morning yep!! The servings are big, the food while nothing fancy is adequate to start your day, the place is not crowded and in a tourist town that's a plus right there. My favorite was just a simple fruit plate with yogurt and granola. Don't forget the Moscato:) The grits were good too!! Hubbie got the biscuits and gravy with sausage and my son pancakes. We also ate supper there one night I got the mushroom burger sans bun , my hubbie the catfish platter, and my son the Philly cheesesteak. The waitresses were nice and worked hard. Would I come again yes! Would I make a special trip here no! If you are staying at the Palace though and don't want to traipse to places for breakfast or Supper. Give this place a chance ! But they are a bit anal about you sitting the proper way -saw them get on a guy cause he moved his chair . It's not that serious Stacked . First off, they bring the food out in a giant plastic bag like it's evidence from a crime scene. And honestly, it is a crime--how much butter and Cajun seasoning they put in there. The shrimp were so spicy they gave me flashbacks to every bad decision I've ever made, and the sausage? That sausage whispered sweet nothings to me before punching me in the face with flavor. I'm not saying I fell in love, but I definitely Googled "how to legally marry andouille." The corn was hotter than Satan's armpit, and the potatoes were softer than my willpower. The Boudin egg rolls were the best thing I ate on my entire trip. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy, every bite was heaven. The jambalaya was the best jambalaya I had on my trip as well. It had a fantastic smokiness and was not wet at all. I also loved the crawfish étouffée. It was creamy and loaded. The red beans and rice had a bit of a sweet edge that was not quite my taste. Try for yourself. The bread pudding was the perfect sendoff. Bite-size beignets were nestled in the bread pudding. It was a sweet, creamy, perfectly Mississippi dessert.
