Some were crispy while others were borderline soggy. 3/5 - 1/2 Glen Ellen 1/2 Sonoma pizza: Yes, you can get half and half (and even 1/2 white 1/2 red) for an up-charge.* With my 1/2 1/2, it was almost $25 for a thin crust pizza that's meant to be a single person's serving. My friend's, with the addition of the gluten free crust (+$4) and spinach (+$1)** was almost $30. I know this is Sonoma and all, but kinda steep. On to the pizza: I thought both halves of mine had a lot of flavor. I loved the combo of sweet caramelized apples and onions, the salty prosciutto and savory goat cheese toppings on the Glen Ellen. The balsamic reduction was a nice finishing touch too. The crust was uber thin and crisp. Sadly, my friend thought hers was dry, but that's what happens when you order GF crust with no cheese. She asked for some of the balsamic reduction and said it was better. 4/5 Appreciated the birthday ice cream. Birthday girl is lactose intolerant, so it was all mine! Girls day out! Finally get to go out and about for lunch. Destination -The Red Grape is located just off the Sonoma square. We shared our favs --The gorgonzola salad, a Margherita fabulous thin crust pizza, and of course-the must have Sweet Corn Ravioli. All perfectly delicious. The atmosphere hosts a relaxed casual inviting vibe. No indoor option (COVID -19)-so we sat outside and enjoyed our lunch on the large garden set patio serenaded by the soothing sounds of the beautiful water fountain . Hidden gem near the town square! I came alone for a quick bite, but wish I had friends with me since the menu had a lot of yummy options. I opted for the Cobb Salad with Salmon, which was massive and delicious. Just the right amount of toppings. Service was quick and attentive. Red grapes quality has gone downhill significantly over the years. I remember they used to be the place to go instead of Mary"s..However the last several times I've gone there the quality has diminished considerably. I've given them several opportunities over the last 5 to 6 years, but they continue to fail me. I've had more bad experiences with waitstaff dining in. I've also had poor experience with the quality of food dining in and with takeout. Red grape is no longer worth the price.. I won't return here in this I'm forced to. read more

We went there on a Sunday night because all the restaurants nearby were packed but this place was empty. I had a Gorgonzola pizza, the toppings were okay, I liked that they had toasted hazelnuts on it but the dough itself was sooooooo dry. Not a big fan and definitely not going back. read more

I returned to Red Grape and once again, was very impressed! This time, I tried their infamous pizza which is New Haven style from Connecticut. This highlights the toppings and has a thin, crunchy crust. Not my usual, but wow!!! I loved it. Easy to reheat and enjoy again as well. Dominic, our server, was also lovely and efficient. Got lucky and scored a large table in the breezeway for a weekend late lunch after some local wine-tasting and browsing the plaza. Our server brought waters and took our beverage orders as we were seated. When our beverages arrived, we ordered a Cobb salad, a pizza, some soup, some onion rings and everything was served simultaneously, piping hot - except the salad, which was chilled, and pre-tossed in its dressing, just the way I like it. Our server was quick and efficient, yet friendly, *anticipating* our needs - not all servers are of that caliber and it's nice when they are. Wonderful food!! I'm not a "pizza guy" since I went gluten-free but this place did not disappoint. Huge selection of white sauce and red sauce pizzas. We started with an order of Brussel Sprouts and Sweet Potato Fries. Best SP-fries I've ever had! They came with a lemon aioli that was perfect. The Brussels did not disappoint either; super crispy with bacon and shredded Parmesan. For the main course we split the Pesto Chicken. It was amazing. On a thick but crispy gluten-free crust, it was excellent. Between the apps and 3/4 of the pizza, we were stuffed. Highly recommend, would return! read more

We started off with the truffle friends and cauliflower appetizers and then we ended up ordering 4 different pizzas to share. The margarita , a pepperoni one , the Mediterranean and a mushroom truffle . I would say the mushroom truffle was my favorite! One distinction about Red Grapes pizza is their ultra thin crust ! We had a really nice meal here in July to celebrate my cousins 40th birthday. The outdoor dining section at the back is super cute. We got some great photos in the garden area. The food was delicious. We had some great pizzas and the Asian Cauliflower appetizer was a real crowd-pleaser. The service was great too. Went to the Red Grape for lunch this afternoon. Excellent as always!!! So happy to see this place open and busy after so many months of being closed due to the coronavirus. I had the Beach Club sandwich. Delicious! I opted for salad instead of fries. The Cesar salad was yummy and a generous portion for a side to my sandwich. The only thing I wished was that the bread of my sandwich was toasted a bit more. Next time, I will order one of the selections of fresh-made pizzas. And hopefully, there will be a table outside at the garden patio. It's really nice. It's recommended reservations are made ahead of time. Yet staff will do what they can to accommodate walk-Ins at short notice. Service is excellent, helpful and friendly. Oh and you will want to take food home. The Tiramisu is awesome! read more

The pizza was just not good at all. Crust too thin (cracker-like) and toppings didn't seem cooked at all. Staff were friendly and helpful but couldn't stand the outside key-access bathrooms. Went here on a trip to downtown Sonoma to get lunch with my girlfriend. She had been here once before and sat outside in their nice garden area and she enjoyed it very much. It was a hot day when we went so we decided to sit inside in the air conditioning. It was very well decorated and clean. We ordered a pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom pizza to split. The pizza was a good size and had lots of toppings (if that's what you like). It was a solid pizza, good but not amazing. The crust was very thin, almost like a cracker and I think we ordered too many toppings because we couldn't really taste the cheese or sauce. The pepperoni was slightly overpowering (my girlfriend did say the pizza was better when she ordered just sausage and mushroom in the past). The service was great, our waitress was friendly and helpful and the food was brought out fairly quickly. If I were to come back to this spot I would sit outside in the garden area and maybe order a salad or sandwich. Wouldn't mind visiting this spot again. read more

The Red Grape is a great dinner spot. We've been several times and are never disappointed. The pizzas are delicious with a thin crust and tasty toppings. The salads are creative with plenty to share. Haven't had the chicken pot pie but plan on trying it soon. Service is always friendly and quick, even on the busiest nights. It can be a little loud with concrete floors and a high ceiling. There is outdoor seating but we always sit inside. A few TVs to watch the game. Prices are average. Always a good, solid meal! read more

This was super close to the hotel we were staying at and was within walking distance to grab a quick dinner with some wine. We shared a meat pizza which was great and the service was fast. I wasn't too hungry that day so we only did one pizza but would suggest getting an app/ side for two people. They of course had a great selection of local wines as well. I had the Southwestern Chicken salad - Romaine, chicken breast, avocado, black beans, corn, tortilla strips, cilantro, jack and cheddar cheese, chipotle vinaigrette. Little spicy and oh so delicious! Love this place! Not only are the prices reasonable they offer great service and decent size portions. They have a lot of seating options: outdoor dining in the backyard area and in front of the restaurant. They also have indoor dinning areas. It is a decent size restaurant and they can get busy but the srevive is always fast and the waiters and waitresses are always super kind and friendly. We typically order a different type of pizza each time and so far every pizza we've ordered has been delicious! Then we order the onion rings and cauliflower. The onion rings are the best onion rings I've ever had and my bf agreed with me. They do need to be eaten fresh and hot otherwise the texture changes. The first time we tried it we were shocked at how well they were fried. The cauliflower is also delicious and one of my favorites. It is seasoned with sauce and provides a little kick to you taste buds. They also offer pasta options which I will definitely try next time we go! read more

Great pizza spot in Sonoma for a casual bite! I first came across Red Grape a few years ago during my sister's bachelorette trip to Sonoma. Her bridal party was from all parts of the country, including the very rural midwest...and let's just say those ladies did not fully embrace all the fine dining that wine country has to offer. I still have flashbacks of one of the bridesmaids drunkenly spitting up ceviche at my favorite restaurant.... However, Red Grape was a great alternative! I mean, who doesn't like pizza? Whether you like to be adventurous with your pizza or not, there is something for everyone. Personally, I'm pretty basic and always go for the Margarita pizza! Good wine and beer options, as well as a convenient location at Sonoma Plaza. I recently stopped by during these crazy COVID-19 times, and they really have there system down. You can order ahead and then just pull up to a reserved spot in front of the restaurant and they will bring the pizza to your car.. no need to get out! We opted to take our pizza to square and sit on the lawn for a socially distanced meal outdoors. Such a great date idea!! :) read more
