I ordered a regular cheeseburger with fries, and it did not disappoint! The burger was cooked exactly how I requested (medium-well), the fries were fresh, and my drink was just right. The server was super pleasant and attentive, and the overall vibe was great clean space, good music, and a laid-back atmosphere. After a hot day at the aquarium we were hungry. It was 4 of us, 2 adults and two children. We were expecting really cold ac but it didn't seem like it was working at full capacity, so there were fans which we sat next to, to cool off. As you walk in it was like a scene from bar rescue no lie lol The floors were sticky and there was gum on our table. We hesitated and decided to just try it because we don't like seafood and honestly there wasn't much around there unless you went towards the boardwalk and it was hot. My young daughter for the grill cheese kids meal. They didn't even let the cheese melt . She seemed not to have a problem with it. The fries were crunchy hot and not terrible. My older daughter got chicken strips with French fries and for $15 they gave her two pieces of chicken. Then I realized that was as a starter in the menu not like a full meal. Me and my friend were scared to order anything and keep it safe so we got mozzarella sticks and they did but disappoint! We ended up getting another order. My friend drink was good she got three. I really wasn't crazy about my margarita. It was happy hour but it didn't specify what the price was. It's only $2 odd original prices. The bathroom was decent which i was also hesitant to use. If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at Red Door Bar & Grill on Coney Island was absolutely awful, thanks to the disgraceful service by our waitress, Rose L. First and foremost, it took us over 30 minutes just to be acknowledged after we were seated. I literally had to tap Rose on the shoulder and tell her we were ready to order. Even then, she disappeared again, and I had to wave her down 15 minutes later to remind her we still hadn't been helped. When we finally ordered, it took another 15 minutes just for a regular and diet Coke to arrive. The real insult came when she handed us the bill to close out the night before our food even arrived. We had to tell her we hadn't been served, and only then did the order come out--10 minutes later, nearly an hour and a half into what was supposed to be a casual evening. To top it off, Red Door automatically tacks on a service fee and an 18% gratuity. Quite frankly, Rose's service didn't deserve a single cent of tip, let alone something automatically included in the bill. The only highlight of the entire night was the comedian Anthony Fuentes, who was absolutely fabulous and the only reason we didn't walk out mid-evening. Bottom line: I will never return to the Red Door Bar & Grill ~no respect for customers, and absolutely no service. Save your money, your time, and your patience. read more

Classic spot to come to on Coney Island for memorial day. 2 friends and I all had burgers and I got the spicy red door burger medium rare. It was juicy and just right with seasoning! Pretty good price as well. Service was very sweet and pretty quick with the food to serve. With a party of five, our food came out in three separate waves, with over 30 minutes between when the first person receiving their meal and when the last dish finally arrived. Among the pretty good places to eat on Coney Island. It has kind of high but not too bad prices. Red Doors is about the closest thing to fine dining you can get around here but it's still casual as well. Has lots of beers on tap and many cocktails in addition to American style food. The drinks and food cost too much but that's expected in an area with tons of tourists. I came with the girl before visiting the Aquarium. It's only a few blocks away. They have so many beers and cocktails to choose from. Lots of local beers including from Coney Island Brewing. There's lots of their famous custom cocktails. We had the Coney Island Iced Tea. It's $12 for a glass. This is like a Long Island Iced Tea but it's also with Blue Caracao and sweet and sour mix. As for the food there's limited vegetarian choices. The only good choice was the Garden Salad. It's $8 for a typical salad, pretty basic. This has cucumbers and tomatoes. Food here is nothing special at all. The prices kind of suck. Come for the food drinks. It also has pretty okay food. The prices are kind of high on most things. read more

I came in on Saturday night that just passed to get some food and relax from the crowd outside. The waiter was so nice and amazing. He was very sweet and took the time to talk to us. The food was good but it was just typical bar food. I was upset with the one man with white hair running around and behind the bar at times. I told him about five different times that the restroom on the right side has no toilet paper. It caused a 12 person line and everyone was upset. I brought it to his attention one last time and he yells out at one of the waiters to bring some. This type of attitude this older gentleman had was disgusting. This is my go to place when visiting Coney Island. The wait time is almost always none, in comparison to the neighboring restaurants wait time. I am always guaranteed seating and in a descent area too. They have a good selection of bar food/seasonal menu items; as well as drinks/beers. I always opt for the seasonal lobster roll, although this year it was a bit different in preparation and the side was taro chips which were very good. They always have music playing, the hostess/waitresses are on point and accommodating with whatever your needs are. read more

I believe in second chances but this place is ridiculous! The last time we went here, just hanging out at Coney Island looking for drinks and a good time, their oven was broken. The drinks were middling to fair. This time we walk up, after 1pm when they allegedly open, and they are JUST putting out the outdoor furniture. We ask a young lady if they're open. She said, "Maybe the bar?" in a friendly, questioning manner, like WE should know! Then we ask the gentleman, and he grunts and shakes his head. No problem. Here's a tip: Right next door, Grimaldi's has excellent pizza, great music, tasty coffee and 5 star service (cash only). One block away, Margarita Island has AMAZING drinks (2 for 1 margaritas 12-2), great music, decent pizza and service with a smile not a grunt. Red Doors has no interest in my money so I will HAPPILY spend it elsewhere. read more

The waitress was very friendly. I ordered a medium rare classic burger ($10) with Swiss cheese (+$1.25) and bacon (+$2.50). Shockingly, my burger was cooked perfectly medium rare! Super moist and delicious. The bacon was cooked great as well-not too crunchy or undercooked chewy. The cheese was melted lovely. It was served with taro chips, which was decent to me. We had a party of six and half of the table got their food then twenty minutes later two more people got their food. I had to wait another ten minutes for A SALAD. When the salad came it had an avocado on it that was so hard I couldn't cut it. The skin from the core was still attached and it was brown as all could be. When I asked if I could get a new one I was told no, they were all like that. No apology, consolation or sincerity. A Little Cold at First Stopped here after an eventful night at Luna Park, because Red Doors was one of the few places that were allowing people to enter. Upon arriving to the bar, I felt a cold response from the bartender but she seemed to warm up after a few rounds. I think the initial coldness was due to the multitude of people trying to use the bar restroom without purchasing anything, since Red Doors was the only thing open on that block of Surf Ave. Hell, the people trying to use the bathroom without buying anything even were getting on my nerves and I do not work at Red Doors. The bar's atmosphere is pretty low key and relaxed, as most places in this area. Red Doors has a nice selection of draft beers, outside of Bud and Bud Light, and the drinks are relatively cheap. I definitely will check this place out during my next visit to Coney Island/Peninsula. read more

The decor in comparison to other places around coney island was pretty nice, nice seating and tables. However, it was only filled with us. They were about 4-6 other people that came in, but that's it. The powers that be must have worked out a pretty good deal for us to have finger foods...wings, mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini, fries, fried corn, and salad...with all you can drink beer and cocktails. For the price we all chipped in it's a good price. The food was slightly above-average bar food, but the service though.. horrendous. They. were. out. of. chicken. Awful. Not sure what time they open on a weekday, but when I got there AFTER 1, the posted opening time (1:07 to be exact) , a young lady and a gentleman were setting up the outside tables. We asked if they were open, the young lady replied, "Maybe at the bar?" So I asked the gentleman. He just grunted and shook his head at me. Okaaay. I took my hunger and thirst elsewhere.
