wool dryer balls, Solmate socks, cards & gifts

Residents of Shoreline should look in their mailboxes for coupons and special offers from this place, then definitely go check out all the awesome recycled and reusable items for sale. From the way they display things in upcycled cardboard tubes to their thoughtfully curated collection of housewares and gifts, there's not much to find fault with at Recology. This shop is part of the same company that collects garbage and recycling in our area, and if you look into their company, you'll find it's employee owned and very supportive of its workers. I picked up a water bottle (Made in the USA), some really nice cloth napkins, and then I had to stop myself from spending too much money. But there were lots of really beautiful things, including many products I've recommended on my blog. These include wool dryer balls, Decomposition notebooks, and Solmates, one of my fave brands of recycled yarn socks! This place is a great resource for eco-minded folks everywhere in the North End.

A place that takes my Styrofoam recycling for free? No paid membership? (Ridwell) No purchase…read morerequired? (Recology) AND take many other types of recycling for free?!!? FIVE STARS!!! My local city had hosted a Styrofest before the pandemic. Since its cancellation, it has been a struggle to find a proper recycler for block Styrofoam that opens on the weekend. One magical place - the Shoreline transfer station serving King County residents! I read before going that they accept many types of residential recycling for free. We filled our car with blocks of Styrofoam that have been sitting in the garage for years, a collection of textiles that aren't usable, and a big bag of plastic bags and wrappers that meet the recycling requirements. Because they also take dump at a fee, we are stopped at the little kiosk. She sees our Styrofoam and immediately tells us to follow the blue line. The rest is super simple, keep driving until you see the container like bins with the open doors, stop, empty the car, and leave. FREE! A sign says let an employee know if the super-sized bags are full. Signs at each bin tell you exactly what is or is not acceptable; that information is also online. We are super happy with how easy and useful it was. If you are an ardent and adamant recycler like me, this place is magical!

I wanted to get an extra wireless keyboard and mouse so I could have one at work and one at home and wouldn't have to carry them around. I asked about them in the store and was led to a plastic box that was filled with identical wireless keyboard mouse combos. I picked one out and asked where the chip was. This should have tipped off the clerk that I was not tech savvy. As I suspect many of there customers are not. She told me the toggle was under the mouse. I got the set home and did not see a toggle under the mouse (latter I found out she was saying dongle). I looked in the battery chambers of both the keyboard and mouse and did not see it. I called the them and was told to check the battery chambers of both the keyboard and mouse and once again I didn't see it. I was told that this would be a once in a lifetime that a chip was not with the keyboard. I brought the unit in and we looked in the keyboard battery area next. Then we looked we looked at the mouse and they pointed out a built in dongle compartment in the battery chamber of the mouse. I was never told there could be a built in compartment when I was in the store or later on the phone. I have since find some YouTube videos that explain where to find the dongle. This tells me I'm not that only one to have trouble finding it.

They got me onto a new machine for about half the price I was prepared to spend, checked specs and I was almost shocked at how easy it was. The employee 100% looks like he came out of 1965. He was polite, long-haired hippie, looking dude that solved my problem and looked up the specs on the program I wanted to run, and I feel very well taken care of. If I had gone to some place like Best Buy, they would've tried to upsell me and cross sell me a double double sell me and this place I've come here about 10 years ago to buy a machine for my assistant at the time and very happy that it's a small Seattle business is still running. If you need a computer or a terminal or a monitor or an upgrade, I feel very confident that they would provide you excellent service high-quality hardware and we need to have more of these small businesses getting people to buy from them. Instead of trying to upsell me into a full laptop and the terminal in all of these parts, he sold me on a terminal a wireless Wi-Fi no monitor and it was very simple set up. I'm very happy to have given them my business, and will definitely be back.
