This is by the very definition an easy process. I had some old electronics that needed to be recycled. I had kept them year after year always planning on going to one of those e-waste recycling days the city does from time to time but never getting around to it. Then it came to a point it had to be addressed so I loaded my car's trunk up and off I went. I drove pass the location the first time. The building is about a semi truck and a half away from the road so it is easy to drive by. I found it the second time by going slower and pulled up to where a helpful gentleman indicated I should stop. He was unloading someone's truck of a variety of work lights and once he was done with him the employee came over to my car. The whole process was him looking at the items, grabbing them, and thanking me for bringing them in. If it was a minute I would have been surprised. It was so quick, so hands off, it was truly easy! read more

Easy breezy!! I brought in some recyclables during COVID phase 1.5. I was unsure on the exact process. As I drove up, there was clear signage that you remain in your car and honk for service. A very friendly employee (at 6:45 am even) came out (with mask) and I was able to donate my recyclables in less than one minute. I'm impressed!! Thank you 1Green Planet! read more

It is really hard to beat a place that will recycle a wide range of items for free and on any given day, be very polite and professional during the drop off. Here's what they accept: https://www.1greenplanet.com/how-it-works/what-we-recycle I drop off almost 1-2 a month and can say they've accepted: CDs, broken car radios, metal outdoor furniture that was broken, old and broken smart and LAN line phones, broken metal rakes, worn out electric power tools, aluminum cans, metal/tin coffee cans, metal cars parts, a 90s style camcorder, my dead Playstation consoles, those cheap outdoor solar landscaping lights and a bunch of wires and power cords I don't remember what they go to. Also, I recycled a bucket of keys I collected. They're not joking, as long as you adhere to their list of acceptable items, they'll take it for free unless it's on the very short list of things they will charge a fee for. read more

Great business that reduces stuff going to landfills. Their dropoff service is free, pickup has a charge. Note: check their website for hours and stuff they do not recycle, like wood. read more

I was looking for an old DVR unit so I could connect some A/V equipment and searched around on Craigslist for one. 1 Green Planet had a used unit posted with the model number I needed but they would only correspond with me via text message and insisted that I be at their facility by 3pm which I did. At that time I purchased the unit which was connected to an analog TV (mine is HD so the test wouldn't mean anything). When I got home and the unit didn't work, I checked and realized that actually it was a completely different model than advertised AND it was throwing up that the "hard disk was corrupt". My bad. At that point I again had to connect with the person at the company via text message (again, wouldn't take my call) where she proceeded to accuse me of swapping the hard drive! Very unlikely considering the model is both obsolete AND one that was not correct in the first place... I asked to talk to a supervisor, she said she'd ask and get back the next day (she didn't). 5 days later I pinged her and she replied she talked to him and the super said no, all sales final. When I asked her to look at it from my point of view: 1. I ran out there to work within their schedule. 2. Bought the unit in good faith. 3. Realized later that it was not the right model number NOR even worked. 4. Was accused of stealing the hard drive when I contacted back about it. She responded with another accusation, this time of harassment (???) for even questioning her (even though she accused me of swapping out a hard drive). Anyway, my loss, but I recommend not working with these folks. VERY shady... read more

Unlike the other reviewer, I have never seen 1 Green Planet sell any used items on CL before. What I know they are good at is coming to a business location to pickup items that they will recycle for free which saves me the time and hassle of transporting them to recyclers or to the local garbage site (where I have to pay a fee for some items). I have had them pickup used electronics, metal racks, appliances and various other metal items with no problem. Only real issues I have had with them is showing up for scheduled pickups, following detailed instructions as to where items have been placed or not taking everything. If you have items that are on their list of acceptable recyclable materials, I highly recommend contacting them to have the items picked up. read more

I've dropped off a microwave & several other things, and it was very easy and hassle free. It's kind of like going to drop off at Goodwill. They have someone there that can help you take the item(s) out your car if needed, then you can pull off. It's that simple. They are definitely my go-to for dropping off electronic recyclables! read more

I've worked with 1 green planet a number of times now, in several capacities. I found them by a community recycling event they put on. They did a great job and were very professional, they even swept up the street when they were done. Next I brought some items in to their warehouse. Again, very professional. I could see them breaking everything down. They told me that everything is recycled and nothing goes into a landfill. Finally, I purchased a projector screen that someone had donated. It was an incredible price, so I was afraid there was something wrong with it (large screen with a power motor to raise and lower the screen). I found a power supply and hooked it up. It's still working great years later! They are not trying to get rich, just helping to keep unwanted items out of landfills. You can find some great deals. I just bought my daughter a laptop (works like new) and a 27" monitor. I spent less than $400 on both! Can't recommend them enough. read more

I bought everyone in my family a computer from here, such good quality for being refurbished too. Was also able to buy a nice MacBook too as the prices were phenomenal. Awesome staff as well, was able to find just the right computers I needed with there help. Plan on buying a tv from them soon after I finnish my move. Also very friendly when I showed up with scrap part from my car, was pleased to find that recycling was free too. I would defiantly recommend this place to anyone looking to buy computers as well as recycling scrap metals. read more

I've been to 1 Green Planet twice and have had a great experience both times. They were able to take all my items which included a printer, old networking cables, laptop, computer monitor and even an old popcorn popper. I've deducted 1 star since my husband tried to drop off items a couple times during their posted open hours and they were closed. Super nice employees. I had the same gentleman both times and he was super fast unloading and very pleasant. read more

I've been using 1 Green Planet for 4 years now and they are great as they simply get the job done. I work in IT and at least once a year we have to purge all our old, obsolete, and broken equipment. Other recycle's I have tried have too many restrictions on what they will take but 1 Green Planet has been hassle free. I load up my pallets, they haul it onto their truck and boom! I've always had to pay to recycle computer components...which is something I've often thought probably deters others from recycling. After all, it's easier to toss something in the trash than take it somewhere and pay to safely recycle it. 1 Green Planet makes it easy & free for everyone to recycle safely. As far as electronics recycling goes, it couldn't get any better. We called them and asked if they could pick up a few printers and miscellaneous electronics the next day. This Is a company worth calling! I did my research and looked into what was the best way to get rid of some electronics and scrap metal. As I called around other places were charging a fee for pick up and on top of that a fee per pound. But when I came across 1 green Planet they told me that they would gladly take what I had for free!
