Yes, things could be spicier but it seems that the people that prefer spicier are fine enough with less spicy, those that complain of "too spicy" are miserable and don't eat. The food truck threads the needle well. Too oily? Although I can taste that reviewers complaint, I thought the oil ratio was perfect. Great oil/salt/spice ratio for the breweries beer and a filling feeling. Too little meat? My Bulgogi was maybe a tad light, but I wouldn't think to mention it if I hadn't read the other reviews. My husband had the chicken bowl and said there was plenty of meat. (His minor complaint was the rice was a bit crunchy, my rice was perfect). Finally I really appreciate the "made to order" hot and on the spot. My husband has food texture issues and I was relieved those items were able to be left out. All in all it was a lot of food and it was good enough that we ate every last bite. We were happy to have this as an option and turn our beer break into a lunch and fun afternoon.

The flavor+texture is good imo. The teriyaki chicken rice bowl is terrible. Overly sweet and oily, not much chicken at all. If it were me, I'd just take that off the menu altogether and do a tastier, more flavorful chicken bowl. I'd like to try the other bowls but based on the oil-to-rice-to-protein ratio of what I've tried, I'm not sure they would be much better. I would recommend getting an egg w/ any of them. Honestly I think they need to update their technique for making the rice. Overall doable food for a truck parked next to a killer brewery, but nothing I could call memorable.

First let me say even though I love most vegetables and some plant based items, I still enjoy meat. I decided to give Vegan Circus a try. Ohhhhh my gosh! I ordered their Big Top Burger. (Thank you Andrea (the owner) for accommodating my condiments request.) The burger was delicious and very filling. The toppings were very fresh and the mustard was specially made by Andrea as well as the seasoning that was sprinkled on the chips that came with the burger. The soft, toasted pretzel bun was a nice surprise. The texture, taste and overall flavor of the burger was so good. I found it hard to believe that it wasn't a beef burger. Their overall menu looked delicious. It has a variety of food that would accommodate most anyone. The customer service was excellent! We visited Crooked Lane Brewery just to sample this family owned and operated food truck superstar. Barbecued meats are somewhat difficult to review because there are many different regional styles and ways the meats can be presented. Many folks love their ribs to be "fall-off-the-bone", but as a KCBS certified barbecue judge, I can tell you that style is not considered competition-worthy. Some like their brisket tender but lean; others find the fatty pieces to be the most flavorful. What I can tell you for sure is that if I had come across the ribs, brisket, and chicken that I had the pleasure of eating today at an official KCBS competition, I would have given top scores to all three. Excellent barbecue, all with the perfect amount of smoky goodness and tenderness. I had the pleasure of meeting pitmaster/owner Dave and his partner Ash. Really nice gentlemen who are deservedly proud of the top-notch barbecue they are serving. They are happy to answer any questions you might have, and they definitely do know their barbecue. Service with a smile makes for a fun experience. One of my favorite kinds of discoveries in restaurants is finding a place that, from the outside, doesn't necessarily promise much. Then you decide to give it a try, and WOW, it turns out to be great. And that's what you will find with BHBBQ. It's a simple stand with an awning, sitting at the very back of a large Raley's parking lot (and easy to miss if you don't know where to look), and from the outside it just doesn't look like it will be special. But BHBBQ is very special, and that is a lot of what makes this barbecue such a treat. One cautionary note: I just happened to find BHBBQ on Instagram yesterday and saw that they were going to be nearby today. They do travel, and so before you go hunting for it, be sure you know where they'll be. They announce their schedules on Instagram, Facebook, and on their website. They also have a phone number. But this one is definitely worth the search if you're into really excellent barbecue. We had the ribs, brisket, chicken, hot links, beans, and mac & cheese. Everything was top-notch.
