This carnival food is an indulgence and I'm never disappointed. Corn dogs, burgers, nachos, funnel cakes. They have all the fried goodness you would normally spend a fortune on at the State Fair... only Vegan Circus creates all plant-based versions of these nostalgic favorites and uses non-GMO and organic ingredients. Visited the Vegan Circus Food Truck at a brewery in Sacramento. We got there early and might have been the first order. ‍ Food came out in a timely manner. Hot and looking great. We tried several thing and shared. Tried 6 different things. Corn dog, Italian sausage , nachos , Big Top Burger , savory pretzel , and the funnel cake. There was a pop up with KC Kombucha, Conscious Creamery, Vegan Circus and Vuture food for an Oak Park Vegan Block Party and I had to get each of them. Vegan Circus had so many fun carnival themed foods that are all vegan. I opted for the Amazing Corn dog ($13.33) and Perfect pretzel ($9.99) but so many items sounded delicious. The amazing corn dog came with chips, and the house made corn batter was so tasty- super fluffy, with great flavor. You definitely get the corn dog experience in a vegan form. The perfect pretzel was fluffy and moist and gave a hint of funnel cake flavor. It was a great bready treat, especially with the mustard. These would make an awesome bun for a sandwich and was tasty on its own. I wasn't a big fan of the cheese that came with the pretzel, but the mustard was great and is different than regular yellow mustard. Vegan Circus did a great job catering a family wedding recently in San Francisco. The venue on the bay presented windy and cold weather challenges for outdoors. . Andrea improvised and delivered great food for all at an indoor site. Many of the attendees were not vegan but because that was the only option we all tried it And, were we surprised. You would never know the hamburger wasn't beef. It was all tasty and served with a great attitude. This place is amazing for such a small business and food truck. The first time I went here, they came to Oak Park in Sacramento and I had their Big Top Burger, which was dynamite, along with their chip and Fantasy Funnel Cake (which had a nice taste, but was way too oily and made me a little nauseous). The second time they came to Sinister Con in 2023 and had the same burger and cotton candy, which was delicious! The second day, I had a special that was also great! Then comes the 2024 Vegan Chef Challenge and I tried their pretzels finally, which was a pumpkin spice pretzel and it was so good and not too sweet. Cannot recommend them enough! Went here the other week to try their Sacramento vegan chef challenge menu and loved every bite. I had been wanting to try their food for over a year and it didn't disappoint. I felt like the prices were very fair considering the large portion sizes. My favorites were the nachos and corn dog. Staff was friendly and helpful. Located in a ghost kitchen across from Cal Family Fitness and Leatherby's, the staff is a group of really cool, friendly people who were glad to answer questions. I had the churro and the popcorn. I came across Vegan Circus while looking for vegan food in Grass Valley. I noticed they would be at Gold Vibe Kombuchary, which played perfectly into my favorite activity of trying any and all vegan food and tricking my meat-eating boyfriend into doing the same. We were there with a party of six, so we ordered a variety - I think both burgers, the nachos, and a couple pretzels. Everyone (yes, even all four of the meat-eaters) loved the food and even went back for more. I got the nachos, which were perfect and tasty and I highly recommend. After waiting in line for 2.5 hours we were told that they ran out of the food item we were waiting for, the sausage corn dog. I have to begin by saying that I am not really a vegan, so I was a bit skeptical about the corn dog I ordered. It was absolutely delicious! The corn batter on the outside was cooked to golden perfection. The fries were seasoned well too. Others in my group got the burger and a unicorn salad. Everyone LOVED their dinners. They served delicious food (grilled soy cheese, veggie dogs and fries), had pricing that was reasonable and they were truly flexible when the schedule changed. I communicated directly with Drea and found her to be easy to work with and she helped me feel incredibly confident that this party was going to go well. They served over 300 people and our team effort to keep the lines moving worked well. The only downside is the fries took longer to make than our hungry partygoers wanted. I absolutely adore and love this mobile food truck! Being vegan in a small town isn't always easy, but I get so spoiled when they come to town. They post up usually at a kombuchary in my town so I get the best of both worlds. I haven't been able to try everything on the menu yet but the corndogs, salad, and nachos are so good. Even my non vegan friends loved the nachos and wanted extra vegan cheese sauce. I love their mission as well and love that they are raising awareness for circus animals as well as farm animals. My husband and I have been so excited to try this truck and we decided tonight was the night. We ordered a big top burger, amazing corn dog and popcorn. The burger was just average, the bacon was weird and hard. The corn dog was overly greasy and don't get me started on the "magic" chips (7 non seasoned tortilla chips per order) . The popcorn was not freshly popped and stale. I have been to so many good vegan restaurants and this one just fell so short. Vegan Circus catered a birthday party for us and Drea + team did not disappoint! The corn dogs, pretzels, doughnut pretzels, funnel cakes, and unicorn salads we ordered were all delicious. Our non-vegan guests raved about the food and my meat-loving uncle even proclaimed it was good enough to turn him into a plant-based eater. As long-time vegans, I was super excited to have a vegan food truck that focuses on organic foods here to cater the party, and I will definitely ask them back for future events. Drea and her team were so kind and accommodating. They parked the truck out front and let us decide if we preferred made-to-order or grab-and-go. We opted for grab-and-go, so guests were able to pick up whatever they wanted as it was ready. When some party guests opted out last minute, we ended up with leftovers. Drea worked with us to ensure we would be able to freeze and reheat so nothing went to waste. Such a nice crew and truly delicious party food that pleased even the pickiest of tiny children.
