We waited somewhat and tried to approach him again, but he just brushed us off. This place is not fancy, and it's not for everyone....BUT, if you LOVE lobster and shellfish, this is the place for you! Like I said, it is not fancy, it is picnic tables set outside in a courtyard type of area, but they HANDS DOWN have the best lobster roll in New England, if not the whole country! Raw Bar's owner Bob can be an attraction if you want to show your guests or children horrible customer experience. The place has its plusses: drinks are good, lobster roll is very good, hot wings are so-so with flavor but not very crispy, jerk wings sauce is a poor rendition of this cool Jamaican flavor.... and then unfortunately you meet the owner Bob... this is when everything goes downhill: grumbling, rude, obnoxious, since Bob does not really communicate, there are no other words to describe the experience. I was very disappointed after driving an an hour an forty five minutes to come try this amazing award winning huge lobster roll only to go sit at a picnic table in the beaming sun at the only table that didn't have an umbrella. Although the lobster roll was huge the quality of the lobster was terrible. It was very tasteless An not tender. I had to load it up with pepper. It came with nothing at a whopping 30 dollars each. We asked for fries an they told us to walk across the way to order them then asked for water an we had to go to the water station. I also ordered a Bloody Mary that was so spicy I almost choked on it. An I love spicy food it was just like eating a ball of wasabi. It was awful. So I asked her for something instead an she still charged me for the Bloody Mary then looked at me crazy An gave me an attitude that I questioned it. I then told her she should inform her guests that their bloody Mary's are extremely spicy. This coming from someone who's been in the restaurant industry for 15+ years. Quite literally one of the worst experiences I've had on cape... And I'm a local. There were shells in the lobster rolls, a generator going outside the seating area that made it tough to hear conversation, and they overcharged us on the drinks. When we asked for a manager, one of the rudest men I've ever come across came to our table. He didn't let us tell him what was wrong, threw a phone number at us for the noise and walked away. I stopped by the bar to personally thank him for ruining my mothers' day lunch. Food was mediocre at best. You are on cape cod... I was not impressed with the decor as I entered the marketplace. It appeared snobby and quaint, but the good looking women and old tyme candy store lightened my mood immediately. The bar was packed as the sky grew grey and we grabbed an open picnic table on the back patio. My friend told me the lobster rolls were 25$ and I almost laughed, but then I saw it.... excalibur. It was the most scrumptious and powerful lobster roll I had ever laid eyes on. It was love at first sight. A sub roll over flowing with dank meat. Our waitress was very pleasant and humerous while taking our drink and app orders and gave us more bar snacks than i have ever seen. They drinks were strong and delicious and the littlenecks and oysters were ocean fresh. Then came the lobster rolls. I saw at least six whole claws and severl chunks of tail and body meat. I ordered Steamers to go and so when I dipped one in the so-called "butter" I quickly knew that it was in fact margarine and it tasted terrible like melted plastic. So I called back and spoke to a young lady and I said that I got margarine and not butter and that it ruined the taste of the steamers and she said "that's what we use" and was completely uninterested in hearing my gripe. Went there because I was told about their renound lobster rolls. The three of us went to the back outside eating area, which was now covered with a tent due to the later season. Just a bunch of picknick tables, a little worn down, set atop crushed stones and shells. Waitress was a bit rude and unattentive. The guys got the lobeter rolls without even blinking an eye while I decided on getting some raw oysters and littlenecks. My boyfriend asked for a second fork so I could try the roll. The rolls were amazing. I swear, there must have been about 3 whold lobsters in them. Perfectly seasoned with mayo ontop of a light roll. The oysters were big and had no shell particles in them, which I usually run into. It was a rare opportunity since the place is in the middle of a rttzy community. drinks were rediculously small, two sips for each wine. Oh, by the way, no cell phone use is allowed at all there. Best Lobster Roll in Massachusetts. For $27 including tax there is enough for two to share. Buy a empty roll for a $1.00 and you will not regret it. Add lemon and that is all you will need. Dirty, rude staff, and overpriced, just blah food. Outside seating on picnic tables is one thing, but when it looks like the tables haven't been wiped down once all summer, that's just gross. Although they're known for having the best lobster rolls on the Cape, it's definitely due to good marketing rather than fact- their lobster rolls are good, but not good enough to warrant the price and (lack of) atmosphere. This place thrives on the tourists who visit because they think that a divey location with a rude owner located in New Seabury must be authentic "Cape Cod." The location is confusing to find amongst the beautiful homes at New Seabury, but the marketplace is certainly charming. As someone who enjoys structure, the first come, first serve setup was not ideal. Half of our party wanted food from the raw bar, the other half preferred the more fried/broiled seafood across the way. We were able to order food from there and have it brought over to the outdoor seating area (once we got a table) and the service was very quick, yet the actual raw bar service was much slower. I had the broiled scallops with rice pilaf, the scallops were amazing and plentiful for the price of around $16, but the rice was dried and hard like it had been sitting around for awhile. I tried some of the clam chowder from the raw bar and it was very good, as were the fish and chips from across the way, but the jerk chicken wings from the raw bar had a very funny taste, and my friend's crab cake (one) was dried out and dull. read more

If you are looking for the best lobster roll you have ever had in your life, I recommend that you go to the Raw Bar. I am one of those who love to have lobster when it comes to a special occasion however since I have gone to the Raw Bar, just any old lobster does not cut the mustard. I would rather travel the distance to go to the Raw Bar and do it once a year and make it extra special. What is also nice is that is situated amongst a very cozy atmosphere with people who have traveled throughout New England and have come from far and wide to experience Cape Cod. It really adds to the experience because you get to feel like a tourist, even if you are not one. You will spend greater than $20 for your lobster roll but is worth it because you get practically 3/4 to 1 lb of lobster meat in the lobster roll and you could practically purchase 2 lobsters and work twice as hard to get that amount of lobster for more money. The lobster roll is Unbelievable, big enough for three people with no problem. For the price it's well worth it, I've had lobster rolls all over New England and never had one this huge. You go to most restaurants and will pay slightly less for a roll one third of the size of the Raw Bar. No fillings at all just great hunks of lobster meat. read more

This place is overrated. While the lobster rolls are delicious, the service is TERRIBLE. The waitresses and staff are the rudest people you will ever meet. They clearly do not want to be working and I'm not sure why because I'm pretty sure they make good money since everything on the menu is highly priced. It's such an unfortunate thing that none of the waitresses are pleasant. When you go to a restaurant you want to be served and this place has anything but exceptional service. As someone who lives close by in the summer it is disappointing that the Raw Bar isn't a friendlier, nice place to go. This wasn't my first time going to the raw bar. I was looking forward to my lobster roll. It seemed busy for a Monday with only one waitress working. We ordered our food. we got our drinks, soda that seemed watered down and two cups of chowder which was spilled on the table when delivered. We finished our chowder and were waiting for our lobster roll. After I saw other people getting there's who had arrived after us I spoke up, by this time another waitress was working. She told us that she was told it was all set, but would get us the next one. As more and more people got there food and after a second time asking for ours, we got frustrated. We told the waitress we would walk out if we didn't get the next one. Finally we got ours after it being rudely put in front of us. As a manager in the food industry and know what good service is. I will never go back! I have never not tipped even with bad service. But a $0.55 tip seemed very appropriate. I wouldn't have expected more out of a well know place. read more

I went to The Lure today with my wife, my brother, and my brother's girlfriend. I have been to this bar and love its location on the beach and unique space. Tonight the bartender refused to serve my 26 year-old brother because he "was not familiar with this ID." My brother holds a drivers license from the United States that he routinely uses to drive, purchase alcohol, and travel past TSA airport checkpoints. Apparently this is not acceptable to purchase a drink at The Lure. This is not the first time we have experienced poor service at The Lure; however, it may be the last. Beware, only buy 1 oyster before you commit. I purchased 2 dozen oysters here during Memorial Day Weekend a few weeks ago. They were filled with sand, served in sandy water with no ice in red and white cardboard french fry containers. When I complained, (I tried to eat them, and with the help of my girlfriend could only get through 4, she got through one), I returned them. High quality lobster and lots of it but NOT a #1. I am a lobster roll freak who has tasted his way through the Hamptons and up along the Maine coast. While traveling recently I googled up best lobster rolls while in Mashpee Mass and I stopped by The Raw Bar to give it a try. Cool location in a classic New England looking group of restaurants and shops in a somewhat exclusive area near the Popponesset Inn and related communities. Beautiful communities right on the beach. Small but gem of a reproduction beach bar with picnic tables outside. Ordered up a lobster roll right away. Out came a magnificent lobster roll with an absolutely mountain of chunky perfectly cooked meat. Enjoyable but definitely needs a recipe tweaking. The flavor was a touch bland without a hint of celery salt or celery, parsley, lemon or black pepper in the mixture. I did squeeze a bit of lemon on it which eased the eating chore a bit. Given the quality and quantity of the lobster meat is so close being the best lobster roll on the planet but zero chance unless they can at the very least offer those accoutrements on the side. read more
