My friend and I, two nights ago, had the Prime Rib Dinner at The Ranch Steakhouse in Phelan, CA. The service was impeccable, and the Hors d'oeuvre was the best chili I have ever had before! The ambience in the restaurant was friendly, and decor was very nice and comfortable. The main entree of Prime Rib was cooked just the way we ordered it, for both of us. My usual steakhouse would be something like Morton's, Fleming's, Capital Grille or Ruth's Chris. The Ranch Steakhouse is nowhere near this level of ambience, but also nowhere near the cost. That being said, the service was excellent which is a compliment on the server's performance. The steak was presented exactly as ordered, medium rare. Good job from the kitchen. Ordered a bone in ribeye, nice cut. Generally the dinner was enjoyable and made better by the excellent service. I understand that a restaurant in this location cannot afford to have an extensive bar selection. Don't expect a Bombay Sapphire gin martini, but I think they do have Tanqueray and I believe Beefeater's. I ended up with a nice pour of Maker's Mark. The liquor prices were within reason. All in all, I'll be back because of the service and convenience. The food itself is, in my experience, worthy of no negative comments. I went with three kids under three and had the best time! The food was amazing one of my children are very picky and he ate his whole plate. My husband had the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly, the appetizers were phenomenal! Now the service was beyond our waitress was Kelly she welcomed us with a huge smile made my kids feel comfortable and then proceeded to bring them coloring pages to keep them entertained they were so happy with her they even hugged her on the way out! I am not going to leave a bad review; they're brand new and I don't want to tank a new local spot, but my honest review for my experience would be 2 or 3 stars. We came in on a Friday night, they were busy, the weather was bad, it seemed like they were short staffed. I will say the steak was totally fine, sizzling hot on delivery, cooked well enough, seasoned well--I ate the whole thing and I'm happy with it. I'd happily eat another steak here. That said, a few things they need to improve on to get me to come back: - Cleanliness. Our table was not wiped down and it was gross. - Greeting. We had a reservation and couldn't even get someone to look us in the eye to acknowledge us for at least 10 minutes after we walked in, and got seated about 10 minutes past our reservation time even though we were early. They seemed super busy, they had a couple of huge parties, I get it, but at the same time it was weird and uncomfortable that they didn't have a single person available to acknowledge us or note that we were there for so long. There were at least two other parties in the same situation. - Food. The mac and cheese was barely cheesy, dried out, and cold, and the fries were soft and cold. The waiter did ask us for feedback which I appreciate (maybe a manager or owner rather than a waiter, not sure) but honestly, grocery store hot counters have better sides at better temps. Everyone we interacted with was nice, service was totally fine, but the main dining room is incredibly loud. At this point, I'm not planning on returning after my experience there, because $90+ for three people wasn't worth the experience we got, and I don't love the ambiance. First of all, we really do not want to leave a negative review since it is newly opened, however how can a place improve if they do not have honest feedback? Considering all the positive reviews We had high hopes. My husband and I have tried this place twice now and both times we did not enjoy our food, service nor the cleanliness of the restaurant. For dinner, The steak and bbq chicken were very well over cooked leaving it dry and tough. The bathroom was dirty and had no toilet paper or seat covers. The server was not friendly, or attentive never checked on us, only brought the check at the end. For lunch, we both had the western bbq burger with fries. The frozen burgers had no flavor only a drizzle of bbq sauce, unmelted cheese, 2 small onion rings and soggy bacon. The frozen fries were terrible mixed with old and fresh fries. The server Courtney needs to do better. We came in and it was slow with only 2 other customers, he was behind the counter on his phone. Tells us go ahead and sit where ever you like and we look at each table and they all had dirty plates and cups on them. He Slams the plates etc on the tables, puts his thumb inside the salad bowl while serving it to us, does not bring what we asked for and not friendly to us or other people. Overheard him rudely tell someone you can Google the address. The restaurant itself should have been deep cleaned before opening. the floors were really dirty, the windows looked like they have never been cleaned, the entrance door handle was black and dirty, and the expo kitchen shelf/rack had to go cups and boxes etc on it and they were so dirty with spilled food etc that had been sitting there for a while. The bathroom was again very dirty and smelled like cat pee. They allowed a customer to bring in her dog. Pretty sure that's a health code violation. The best part of this was the price is pretty reasonable and the side salad with ranch is pretty good. But that is not enough for us to want to come back again. Pretty disappointed read more

Went in twice. Once for steak dinner and second for breakfast. I can't comment much on the steak dinner because they were just opening and still getting things settled in. Second time for breakfast. 3 of us went. Each of us had a drink with the meal. $98. The breakfast was good. Home fries were good with the onion and bell peppers. Scrabble eggs were actually scrambled eggs rather than pre scrambled out of a box. That's a big plus in my opinion. Service was better than the first time. The chiliquiles came...was looking at a pile of old corn chips with two extremely overcooked eggs on them and a little side of so-called salsa. No "FAMOUS" ranchero sauce. Then my breakfast burrito smothered in country gravy... Where's the gravy?...was told it was inside... I cut it in front of the waitress and asked where? Great experience! We got the ribeye, loaded baked potato and broccoli plus a market garden salad. The food was incredible! Hands down the Best food in Phelan. The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Baked potato was super fresh and the broccoli was cooked perfectly. The salad was delicious, ranch dressing was so tasty. They also had grilled Jalepenos which is a must have for me. My husband ordered an old fashioned that checked off all the boxes. Big square ice cube, smoked glass, orange rind and dark Cherry. The service was so-so, it took 15 minutes to take our order and well over another 1/2 hour to get our dinner. The coffee was old and cold, the bar waitress was kind enough to make fresh. They were out of clam chowder, so I got salad instead. My bf ordered a salad too, but the waitress said he didn't. She did remember 15 minutes after I finished mine. I ordered grilled onions and got mushrooms. Did I mention we ordered chicken fried steak, but they ran out of gravy. It was a fiasco with only 5 tables to take care of. Won't be going back. Fire the whole lot and start over. They did take 1/2 off the meal that had no gravy. It was like eating breaded cardboard. Don't recommend, we will go to Outpost instead. Went to this Steakhouse to try it out. Supposedly came out in One of Americas best places to eat. Where do I start. Went in with a Party of 10. Ordered appetizers and they were good along with the Drinks. Next we all ordered Dinner. 6 of us got our Dinners and the rest waited and waited. About 20 something minutes the other 4 Dinners came, most of the others had finished eating and some waiting to eat with their better half. We ordered steak Sandwich which you could not pick it up due to the bottom was so soggy it fell apart The other Plates had steak which we ordered Medium which came Burnt, No Taste and a little bloody. I did not eat and the others picked through it. The Manager was nice to remove them from our Bill and offer 20 dollars off next time we come. We did not accept the 20 dollars discount. Needless to say if thats the Best Ribeye in America, well then my Ribeye on my Grill Is the Best in The World lol. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped here last night, super random drive by on our way back into town! We opted to sit in the bar, which was very clean and set up well, seems like they're almost trying for a slight modern feel in a rustic location! The bartender was Staci, she was amazing! Super friendly and personable, she even brought us out some samples of their delicious warm pretzels with what I believe is their homemade deli mustard, YUM! The food...DELISH! I chose the ribeye, it was cooked perfectly and I am super picky about how my steaks are cooked! My boyfriend had the pastrami sandwich, he rates is a strong 8 out of 10, the only thing he would suggest is a different roll and more pickles...(so maybe a 9, not everyone likes a lot of pickles lol) I wish I had taken pictures but we were wrapped up in very friendly conversation with Staci and two other gentlemen that were also seated at the bar...‍ overall amazing and we will be back! read more

I waitress was very rude acted like she didn't want to be there. the Tables were all dirty waitress We stood in an empty restaurant for over 10 minutes another customer came in waitress new, and she waited on her friend first, when confronted she was very rude and raised her Voice and we proceeded to leave she was very rude told us she was didn't have any help and it wasn't her fault. Very unprofessional every table was filthy. I will never return and hope they would hire people with better customer service skills. read more

We where treated as second hand customers. We ordered and got our food 45 minutes later, food was cold and was not worth the wait to be honest. It was not the servers fault as she was tentative to our needs but could not do anything g about the food. The place is small and clean, experienced the bar area and felt as if I screamed something of the top of my lungs the way every turned and looked at my group. I was so excited to see something other than Mexican in Phelan. Had high hopes for this place so went to dinner early to beat the any crowds. The place was cute and decorated well. The fabric on the booths needs to be cleaned and the booths move all over the place. Now on to the dinner the waitress was very nice and helpful. We ordered the ribeye steak, baked Potatoe and vegetables. The quality of the meat was horrible, chewy with a lot of gristle and very little flavor. We both could not finish the meat. The vegetables were soaked in butter. Baked potato was ok, but how can you screw up a baked potato? When the waitress asked how the meal was, we told her everything above. She explained sometimes they get a bad cut of meat and offered to have another one cooked to send home with us. We passed as we were just trying to give them feedback so they can change and succeed. She went to tell the manager about our experience, and he sent her back to offer a free dessert. We advised her do not eat dessert and were not looking for anything free, but that her manager should have come to talk with us not send her back. Felt sorry for her she was trying to be helpful and feel he put her in the middle. Needless to say we will never be back and after reading the reviews (which I should have done before going) we will never be back. Will tell everyone we know not to waste their time and hard-earned money. If you wasn't a good steak go to Texas Roadhouse. P.S.
