Yes. Loved it here. Been wanting to come here for ages, and it was definitely worth the wait! After becoming obsessed with ramen in Japan, it's been a mission to find some at the same level you get over there. Well. The Ramen Bar most certainly lives up to it's name. What a cool spot. Out the back of Kokoro, it gives off a hidden bar kinda vibe. Muted lighting, dark wood, staff that float in and out, seemingly appearing in front of you before you even realise you need them. Aside from that, the food is top notch. Honestly I was ridonkulously full afterwards. I went for the spicy red Tonkatsu with an addition of the boiled cured egg. I really struggled in finishing it, but of course didn't want to leave it, so practically KO'd in the taxi on the way home. But worth it, so worth it. I totally agree with my fellow Yelpers that this place really is something. Something else. Not another burrito or taco or burger place, no it's ramen. Yes!!! Hallelujah! So I've been here twice in the space of 3 days. I had the miso salmon and the Tonkotsu which, I was told, is the most popular dish. Both dishes were great! In general I'm not a big pork fan so I preferred the salmon which was perfectly cooked. With every lunch time ramen, they serve a free appetizer so you do get a lot of food. There is also the option of customizing your ramen and add on toppings like spring onions or corn or fresh garlic. And when they say fresh garlic, they mean: FRESH garlic. In fact, I was handed 3 peeled cloves and a garlic press. Now, that's fresh! The atmosphere is very relaxed with friendly and attentive service. I enjoyed my ramen to the chilled sounds of Mark Barrott, that is 1 extra point in my book. read more

This place is great. Tastiest ramen I've ever had. The place is really cozy and nice. The ramen dishes are are delicious (well at least the veggie ones, the spicy pork and the chicken ones anyway). It is well worth asking for extra egg in your dish. The seasoned eggs are seriously nice. The staff are always super nice and you always get a complementary appetiser. Came here after St. Paddy's and was not disappointed. Ordered the salmon ramen which was on the bigger side of traditional ramen and the noodles were so fresh and cooked perfectly. The only downside is that there's a part of the menu that is slightly misleading, reading "Customize Your Ramen" which does not mean create your own-- rather they just provide add ons. First it was milkshake shops. Then it was burritos, BBQ, and donuts. The newest food craze appears to be ramen places, and The Ramen Bar is the shining beacon of this craze. Walk through the takeaway portion of the restaurant, and you'll find quite a few tables, decorated in a traditional Japanese style. You get to pick your ramen from a selection, and add topping that you may want. The fresh garlic is worth it - they bring you a bowl with 3 peeled garlic cloves, and a garlic press! Can't get much fresher than that. They also do a free starter sampler every lunchtime if you ask them. I had a vegetable stew, which was delicious. Another thing to note - if you're really, really hungry, you can eat all of the noodles from your ramen, and get more added for free! Fantastic place, and I can't wait to go back. read more

It has been quite frustrating to find a good Asian eatery in Dublin, however, this ramen bar satisfies my craving for the tangling noodle and the fulfilling soup. Genuinely one of the best bowls of ramen I've ever had. In my opinion it out does the likes of Ippudo in NYC. The free appetiser during lunchtime is a really nice touch, however I do think it's annoying they up their prices by a good chunk for dinner service. Their ramen noodles are made in house by an imported ramen maker from Japan and you can really taste the authenticity! When they first opened the spicy options were definitely a little hotter than they are now, but if you just stress that you like your ramen spicy it's still really good. I've been looking for a ramen joint since moving here from San Francisco, and I finally found one that checked all the boxes. Perfectly cooked soft boiled egg, perfect noodles, silky rich broth, and pork that almost melts in your mouth. I got the spicy miso ramen, which I think was actually just miso with Sriracha, but at that point I didn't even care, it was still beyond delicious. My partner had the tonkotsu broth, and it was amazing. Cannot recommend this place enough. The fresh garlic they gave to crush on top was also a plus. We were craving ramen in the middle of our vacation and happened upon this place based on some Yelp reviews. Wow it's great. I ordered the tonkatsu red and it was definitely spicy. The pork was fantastic. The noodles were tasty with good consistency. I wish they were a little softer but they were still good. The ramen came with fresh vegetables and you can add even more condiments. We added bean sprouts to ours. With the extras, the ramen can get pretty pricey but the base bowl which is already pretty filling is at a fair price at 10-12 euro or so. Definitely worth a stop if you're needing a break from Irish or European food read more

Good ramen is surprisingly hard to come by in Dublin from what I've experienced. Thankfully someone went and set up a whole restaurant based around it. The ramen here is delicious and various, even being given the choice to choose your base soup. Who knew ramen could have such variety? It can seem a bit pricey but that's standard fare for ramen in Ireland unfortunately. The location and premises itself also adds to it - there's this really chill vibe inside that almost makes the food better (and the relaxing electronic music drowns out the slurps of nearby eaters). If you're looking for a decent ramen spot and are in the area then this is the place. read more

This is a very good ramen joint, and from what I've seen in Dublin, almost certainly the best. The Tonkotsu Ramen was everything I'd hoped it would be: noodles were obviously fresh and the right consistency, egg was properly soft boiled, broth had proper amount of savory flavor, and the chashu was large and deliciously fatty. I'd kept my expectations pretty low based on the Japanese food I've had in Dublin so far, and so I was close to tears finding a place that's legit. read more

I was expecting a lot more from this place based on the high ratings and pricing. The ramen was just not good. The meat was badly cooked and tasted appalling. Both the meat and eggs looked unappetizing. I didn't even get the bok choy that the menu promised. The price was way too high, especially considering the poor quality of the meat. This place is spilt into two parts. They offer ramen on their sit down menu but also offer a la carte sushi that is pre-made (on site) and small bento boxes that you can easily grab and go. I had seen the word ramen few times but I had never stopped and try. Yesterday I decided to give the place a try. It is an amazing place and it is hidden. You have to walk through Kokoro Sushi Bento first, then you will find some playbills of Akira Kurosawa classics at your right hand side and finally you are in The Ramen Bar. Decoration is cool with wood all over the place, Japanese lanterns and lovely stools with the shape of torii that is a traditional Japanese gate that you can find at the entrance or within a Shinto shrine, where symbolically marks the transition from the profane to the sacred. That is a good metaphor of the culinary experience. As a compliment they offered us a really nice starter made of spinach and salmon caviar. After that I asked for the Tonkotsu Original with Tonkotsu Soup, Pork Chashu, Seasoned Bamboo and Egg. Very tasty and well done. My girlfriend asked for Tsuke-Men that is a rich Miso and Tonkotsu Soup with noodles served chilled. Powerful taste and you can add fresh garlic, pak choi (vegetables), etc. They have other options in the menu and we will come back to try more. They are open from 11.30 am to 10 pm till Wed and from 11.30 am to 11 pm from Thur. My number one bar in Dublin. read more

In my search for ramen places in Dublin I came across The Ramen Bar and its high reviews (in particular from reviewers who have had ramen outside of Ireland). The place is beautiful, and it's located in a not so heavily trafficked part of central Dublin, which is great for avoiding crowds and avoiding tourists (at least this was my experience, but the rain could have played an influential role as well). The staff is wonderful, super helpful, and all smiles. Just for the locale and the staff alone this place deserves 5 stars. On to the food: there were two great aspects of my meal (I ordered the tonkatsu red ramen). First, was the fresh and well-dressed complimentary appetizer. One of the waitresses came out with a small ramekin sized bowl with a medium-sized tomato that was quartered and dressed in ponzu sauce, sesame seeds, and Japanese micro-greens. This was delicious and refreshing. If you know how hard it is to find fresh, ripe tomatoes in Dublin outside of specialty stores, you could only imagine... Second, the pork in my ramen was perfectly cooked as well. It was tender and succulent. However, the ramen itself was just ok. I could be biased from all the great ramen places in San Francisco that I love. But the broth was neither spicy (as the tonkatsku red is hailed to be) or subtly/strongly flavored. It was just so-so, lacking in depth, and imploding with lots of green onion. This is not to say it was horrible or inedible or not worth trying. It is a good place to have some ramen. But I think I will scout out other places before considering returning (and if I do, it will not be to order to the tonkatsu red). I guess I should have gone along with the waitress' suggestion to order one of the popular selections: tonkatsu or black tonkatsu. read more

The place has good ambiance and is intimate, but the noodles are sorely lacking. I had a Tonkatsu Black, and while the broth and pork were OK, the noodles were like pasta, not ramen. Not very slurpable (slick) and had none of the usual alkali noodle springiness. Very starchy.p I also think my dish was supposed to have an egg, but didn't get one, so can't evaluate their Ramen egg. read more
