Pork dumplings, salmon tartare, sushi.

Very tasty salmon tartare! While Chickens in Karaage are too salt. Just normal sushi and pork dumplings.

Individually wrapped sushi pieces like salmon dill and avocado and salmon!

Really weird concept of a sushi place but surprisingly worked out for me since I was on the airport. For their "Bento" boxes, you can choose, mix, and match individually clear wrapped sushis that sold for anywhere from 1.10 euros to 1.30 euros PER PIECE which does add up. The flavors included things like vegetarian cucumber rolls, your classics like avocado and salmon, and also some different sushi pieces (Which I was a fan of) like Tuna and corn, salmon and dill, and spicy sesame crab. I bought two individual pieces first as a snack. Cool thing was they did a half off happy hour session 30 minutes before closing (so after 8:30) and picked out a variety of 6 pieces for my flight totaling about 3.50 euros. Wasn't the best sushi in terms of freshness but some of the choices like the spicy sesames, tuna and corn, and salmon dill are interesting and offered as a better, more tasty meal for my international flights and movies. Don't come here expecting the best tasting and fresh sushi but come here for the convenience and option of customization of your sushi plate!

Sushi!!

Came after ages to have some sushi here and this new branch is so much better than the old one! It's much bigger, there's always seats available and the staff were really friendly, which made me happy. The sushi is so cheap, like 1.20-1.75 for one piece, and the pre-packed bentos are all under 11 euro. Since you don't have to buy two of each piece like the other Kokoro, I was able to try a good variety of sushi, but the tamago (egg), tako (octopus) and fresh salmon ones are my favourites! There were some cooked salmon sushi using what looked like tinned salmon, but it didn't look fresh, kinda more brown than pink. But the others ok, albeit lacking freshness with that day-old feel; I think it depends on what day you go, weekends are probably leftovers so you may get fresher stuff on the weekdays. They also have 2 types of miso soup: The regular plain one with seaweed and tofu, ot the salmon one which is new. Pros: cheap, clean, no queues or waiting, friendly staff and half price on bento boxes half an hour before closing. Cons: some days the sushi with fish is not fresh, so it's a gamble on what day you go if freshness matters to you. Also, I kinda see 3 euro for a small cup of miso soup kind of a waste.

So glad I didn't review the first time I was here a few months ago! They've just started doing their own ramen. It was my first ramen experience (well, outside those atrocious "just add boiling water" cups) and I have to say I'm a fan! The place is clean, nice service, very affordable and the food is great. Maybe a little on the dim side for lighting in back but for the speed and price, ambience was pretty great! Did make it difficult to get good pictures of the food though! Food was delicious. My date (who is experienced in all things ramen) said it was good, not mindblowing but not just decent either. I personally loved it. They have a free appetizer deal on now (not sure for how long) and it was little pork things which were delicious and really a nice starter. Then came the ramen - I got the basic vegetable broth, the handsome lad I was with got the spicy pork broth - and wow, there was actually a significant difference in the taste, though both were great! Was almost creamy and rich with the pork, and the veggie was savory and flavorful and not at all disappointing. Will definitely be back next I'm craving ramen. Do note though - they serve broths "mild, spicy, or hot" and the "spicy" is by no means sinus-clearing, even for me and I would generally play it on the safe side heat-wise. Be comfortable with chopsticks as you'll be eating with them! Legit ladles for the broth though, yum!

Beautiful little gem in the of Dublin. Great choice of veggie dishes and gorgeous interior. The staff was really helpful and we got seated and served quickly besides it being quiet busy.

Huge portions of delicious ramen in a very cosy environment with extremely nice staff. Oh yeah they also have freshly made tasty sushi sets. I would consider Kokoro to be very good value for money which is hard to find around Dublin.

Lovely little treat of a free appetiser. Prawn on avocado and cucumber.

I enjoyed a lunch here recently. I don't think I can review it properly or fairly though because I just don't really like ramen, I want to, I really do and I've tried but something about it is not for me, but this was definitely the best of all the ones I've tried. Interesting flavours and huge generous portions for very reasonable prices. The staff are so lovely and dining area is nice. I'll be back, the other non-ramen food looked great too. Would defo recommend for ramen fans!

Appetizer. Dried salmon in sweet chili and micro greens

Third time I've been here to Kokoro in S William. Beautiful location, beautiful food, and who cares about the price? I came here for lunch on the way to get my barnet transformed from 'Boris Johnson with a hangover' to 'Watch out, Justin Bieber got old and thinks he's relevant again'. I was seated downstairs - it's quiet, dimly lit and spacious, with picnic-style seating. The walls are festooned with faux-Japanese ink drawings and pictures of yokozunas. No more than 3 minutes after I sat down, a bottle of iced water appeared in front of me, followed by a beautiful (free!) appetizer. Today, it was dried salmon in sweet chili sauce - while tasty, it was certainly very dry and salty. I ordered my standard lunch - tonkotsu ramen with black garlic oil - and it didn't disappoint. The broth is creamy and complex, the meat tender, and the noodles had a great bite to them. For €11.50, this is a fantastic lunch in a lovely setting; it's healthy, tasty, cheap, and served by the friendliest and most attentive staff in D2. Make Kokoro a stop on your way to getting plastered in the tourist pubs. You won't regret it.

I really like going to Kororo in South William Street. It's now my treat in Fridays The staff is always so friendly. If you feel nobody is acknowledging your presence today, go there. You always get a hello, even if you don't buy anything. I usually get sushi but the hot good is also very nice and the portion quite generous.

This is their salmon chirashi which cost €2.45. I personally preferred the spicy chirashi

Really affordable and worth sushi available here. Probably one of the better easy to go sushi in Dublin. They guarantee that the sushi are fresh daily however do not expect it to be of good quality. One of my favourite here is their spicy chirashi don which only cost €2.45 and their onigiri which cost €2. They have bigger sizes boxes which comes with a choice of miso or salmon miso soup.

The miso soup alone is a winner. Amazing value for such tasty food!! Staff are really friendly too. Love it!

Sushi King - California Roll

The Sushi King chain just opened a store on Camden Street and they were giving out flyers with a…read moreshark cartoon and text that read "Don't be scared! It's not all fish!" I got a good chuckle out of that; it definitely goes to show you sushi's pretty new here in Ireland and people aren't totally prepared to eat loads of raw fish. Luckily, Sushi King offers chicken sushi. That probably makes a lot of people feel safe and secure, but I think it sounds gross and stupid. If you're going to eat chicken, eat chicken! Don't fork over too much money to eat "sushi" that... isn't. I've been stuffing myself silly with sushi for 10 years and have been dying for some but have been turned off by the high prices here in Dublin. So I was excited for the 30% off they offered on the flyer under the shark. I got the Fish Fetish platter, which consisted of 6 nigiri, and 4 maki. I thought the nigiri was excellent. The fish was very fresh and delicious. I thought the rolls were a little less exciting; the rice to filling ratio was off, and I felt a little gypped. They were still tasty though. The whole platter was 9.20 before the discount, but I wasn't full afterwards. It just wasn't enough food, simple as that. For that kind of money I could have stuffed myself silly twice over.

I got the California roll each time, four pieces with all the trimmings for 3.95 EUR. It's good value and a tasty snack that I feel is a bit better than getting a sandwich. Overall the food was enjoyable! I absolutely loved the oysters. The mignonette was to die for and was a unique spin I hadn't had before. It felt like an oyster shooter, which made the value seem all the better. For our main course we split the sushi for two platter. It had sashimi, a few different roll options, and nigiri as well. The classics were great, and the rolls were interesting! The only thing I didn't love was the mayo on the tuna roll. Aside from the food, the service was a bit mixed. Everyone we interacted with was fantastic, but service was a bit slow and there had been items added on our bill that we didn't order. Easily fixed, but that took a bit more time. If you want a solid sushi dinner though, I definitely recommend eating here!

So it should come at no surprise that after 2 days of eating nothing but traditional Irish cuisine, my Asian food cravings started to set in. Walking down the streets of Dublin on a Wednesday night, we saw like 15 people enter the Ukiyo Bar at the same time and wondered what al the fuss was about, so we went in. I am so so glad that we did! The menu was priced perfectly for the quality and quantity of food you're served. The food was also super fresh! We ordered the Gyoza, the ramen and the kimchi fried rice. Every dish was jam-packed with fresh veggies and the perfect amount of spice. I was in heaven! Ordered a table sake and a Sapporo that were also really enjoyable. I would recommend Ukiyo Bar to locals and tourists in the Dublin area. Loved it!
