    Tuna and salmon sashimi
    Briony C.

This place might not look super appealing from the outside but inside it's lovely - traditional Japanese seating (so be prepared to sit on a wooden stool) and a nice atmosphere. We were in for a weekday lunch on a Wednesday and arrived early, within about 30 minutes the place was totally full so it's worth keeping that in mind if you're keen to eat in. (Note: they take reservations via the Yelp app, I didn't use that feature as we were already on our way but I'd recommend it if you want to guarantee a seat!). The lunch menu is pretty simple and we ended up all having bento boxes. There was one bento box listed on the menu but there was actually two available which I found a little confusing - one is simply sushi and sashimi, and then there was a hot option with beef. We all had the sushi and sashimi bento, and got a platter of sashimi to share as well (greedy!). If you want a drink it is just €1 on top of the bento price so it's a good lunch deal for just under €10 each. The food was lush - fresh, soft, succulent and delicious. I was really impressed. I normally don't really love sushi as I prefer just the fish, but the rice here was done perfectly and was really pleasant. For the price I thought the portion size was spot on, and I was comfortably full after the bento + extra sashimi (I am greedy though, you probably don't need to order any more than just the bento. Oink). I really can't fault this place - so BOOM, 5 stars.

    Food arrived! Thx Deliveroo

First Aoki and first Deliveroo experience. 2 in 1. I had my sushi delivered at work as Deliveroo does not cover Dundrum (yet!). The delivery was right on time and the service was great. So handy too! I might pull that trick more often and pretend I did cook that dinner. Now on to the food. It was very good. The husband was all over the sashimi and he is very strict with Japanese food (being part Japanese and all). The fish was definitely fresh and the rice cooked just right. I am always a bit worried when ordering sushi - I had bad experiences - but I would recommend Aoki. The sets came with plenty of pickled ginger, little bottles of soya sauce and enough wasabi. I can't wait to try more of their menu even though it is not on the cheap side but I guess sushi in Dublin never are.

Aoki Sushi definitely deserves another star. After taking a small break from the place, I recently ordered via Deliveroo once and sat in twice for lunch. All three occasions have been just great. The food was excellent. Gyoza, California roll, Tuna Avocado roll and Chicken Cha Han. The Cha Han especially was a highlight. I just had it again today and it was delicious. I demolished it.

Salmon sashimi and seafood futomaki from Aiko sushi

Two firsts for me, using Deliveroo and Aoki sushi! Really fresh ingredients, the salmon sashimi was cut a little thicker than some other places but delicious all the same. Served with two pieces of sushi and a generous helping of ginger and wasabi I'd highly recommend it. Also had the seafood futomaki , really fresh fish used and a good variety too. Only thing I didn't like was a creamy sauce they had garnished it with. Portions were really generous, larger than I expected! Wouldn't order as much the next time!

Part of the bento box meal!

A quiet, reasonable sushi place for lunch! I love Zakura as much as the other yuppies around Camden Street, but Aoki was such a nice change of pace! The place is small, quiet, and really nicely decorated. The staff greet you, are really nice, and thank you when you leave - even the sushi chef! Great customer service and fairly quick too! We got the daily special of gyoza bento box and veggie tempura! The veggie tempura was good, but small-ish in size compared to other restaurants. The bento box was great though - 5 pieces of gyoza, lots of noodles, 2 tuna maki pieces with golden radish(I think!), fresh salad, and soup. All for 8.50 quid, so prices are similar to other places too! I will definitely be back to get sushi rolls, but to be fair, their menu is pretty big. You'll definitely find something you're into.

I have been several times in Aoki Sushi for lunch and diner. The service is very good, they are always very nice and the price are reasonable. As a sushi lover, it is an very good place to have a meal. Also, I Checked in on Yelp and as a reward I got a green tea drink. I will go back in Aoki Sushi very soon !

This truly is a hidden jem tucked away in the heart of the city. It's salmon/avocado sushi is to die for. With a side of pork dumplings I can see how this restaurant gets its name - everything is A-Okay. The staff are very friendly. Overall I give this restaurant a 10/10 as its my favourite to date.

I have to update my previous rating with another star.. The more I eat out in Dublin - the more I realise that this place deserves 5 stars! I keep coming back and it is the most affordable, best quality japanese food I know of in central Dublin and their Service is ultra fast! You can also order via just.eat or deliveroo and it doesn't affect the quality at all.. Still great sushi :)

It might not be a prophetic catch phrase, but I never expected a ramen joint like this during my travels to Dublin. The dense menu of ramens galore nearly suffocated my appetite because they all sounded magnificent. The cons in service were entirely made up for when these deluxe bowls of ramen landed on our table. The size gargantuan, the aroma intoxicating, and satisfaction guaranteed. Garlic Lovers Ramen - It starts with Tonkotsu AND Miso broth, which was redonkulous. Then the fried onion, grated garlic and black garlic oil elevated the bowl into one of the most intense ramen flavors I've had. The grilled chicken was odd, as expected, it just dried out too quickly. The Seasoned Egg (phenomenal!) tied the entire dish together. The Garlic Lovers Ramen from Kokoro officially landed a certified place in my ramen hall of fame. #BeastFromTheEast may have hindered our Dublin trip, but Kokoro warmed our souls during our final night. I got a good chuckle out of that; it definitely goes to show you sushi's pretty new here in Ireland and people aren't totally prepared to eat loads of raw fish. Luckily, Sushi King offers chicken sushi. That probably makes a lot of people feel safe and secure, but I think it sounds gross and stupid. If you're going to eat chicken, eat chicken! Don't fork over too much money to eat "sushi" that... isn't. I've been stuffing myself silly with sushi for 10 years and have been dying for some but have been turned off by the high prices here in Dublin. So I was excited for the 30% off they offered on the flyer under the shark. I got the Fish Fetish platter, which consisted of 6 nigiri, and 4 maki. I thought the nigiri was excellent. The fish was very fresh and delicious. I thought the rolls were a little less exciting; the rice to filling ratio was off, and I felt a little gypped. They were still tasty though. The whole platter was 9.20 before the discount, but I wasn't full afterwards. It just wasn't enough food, simple as that. For that kind of money I could have stuffed myself silly twice over.

The classics were great, and the rolls were interesting! The only thing I didn't love was the mayo on the tuna roll. Aside from the food, the service was a bit mixed. Everyone we interacted with was fantastic, but service was a bit slow and there had been items added on our bill that we didn't order. Easily fixed, but that took a bit more time.
