Having a day off I had time to try places that I have been wanting to for some time! I stopped in at The Protein Jungle- Legends location after learning that it was replacing another business near the Yoga studio. I just love how it felt like we were in an actual jungle! I was excited as I saw they did a collab with The Compound Coffee (which is another on my list!) I ordered the "ape shit" which was a banana nut protein coffee, it was perfect I had hints of banana and found the drink to be sweet and filling. Lots of options and the sizes were quite big so enough for the kids to share a smoothie. The employee was nice enough to let me change my order after I already placed it (because I didn't notice there were even more options than I originally was looking at). From the minute I walked in I was greeted and offered with help if I had questions. Super friendly owners!! I chose the Tahoe H2O hydration drink and the Chunky Monkey Protein Waffles. They both were delicious! The waffles were light and fluffy. Not dense like when I make protein waffles at home. The Tahoe H2O is an orange lemonade with a splash of blueberry. Located inside the Legends Mall, I got to try this place out after a friend had recommended it and I'm so glad that I did! As the name suggests, it's jungle themed so the decor and menu follow suit. There were plenty of seats too which I appreciate having options to sit. Service was great! As my first time being there, I didn't know what to get so I appreciate them recommending. I got the protein crepe and smoothie. But the biggest thing I was impressed with was the fact that the protein used was grainy! I typically stay away from protein smoothies because I don't like the taste and feel of the grit from the protein but whatever they use is magic! It was full incorporated and drank down smoothly! Parking was a bit tricky to find (especially if there are events going on nearby), there are many spots around the neighborhood, as well as, the shopping center with the in n out and 7/11. As implied by the establishment's name, they are known for their drinks and bowls containing high levels of protein. Price is reasonable and the ingredients are listed clearly on the menu for each item, providing transparency for customers. Although their menu selection is small, I would assume only fresh ingredients were used. I got one of their protein shakes, which contained peanuts and chocolate, and it tasted amazing and refreshing. The establishment had a lot of space and many decor inside, living up to its "jungle theme". Overall, I highly recommend anyone to check this out. They have great prices if you're like me; I spend too much going out for healthier options. Protein Jungle isn't as expensive as other locations. I ordered two power bowls, a peach hydration drink and a berry protein smoothie to take home for my son. I wanted to try their protein crepes this trip, but it will have to wait until next time. This store is located in an unassuming building on Victorian Ave. I found it while searching for protein shakes around my work in Sparks as I've been trying to exercise and eat healthier lately. Once inside you'll find a very chill place to hang out, it has a cafe vibe. They actually have a lot of great food and drink options, not just for shakes but also for energy teas, hydrating teas, coffees, waffles, crepes and smoothies. Prices I think are pretty par for the course, everything is very tasty. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. They also let me know you can text their phone number to order ahead which is super convenient! Fees are a little higher on Door Dash, Uber eats have in-store prices but I prefer to text directly to help the store avoid any service fees. Finally had a chance to try out this spot!! I don't live in sparks so when I'm in that side of town, I like to try out local spot and this one has been on my radar. When I pulled up, it was around 9:20am and there was a sign on the door that read they would be back in 15 minutes, so I decided to wait since I had some time available because I knew it would be while before I could be on that side of town again. And they did come back in about 15 minutes, so no biggie... for me. This could deter future customers especially if they're in a hurry. The staff member that was there was quickly available to help me and he was very friendly! Got to chat with him while he was making my order. I ordered the chunky monkey waffles, which were very tasty for protein waffles, no gritty texture at all! My husband had the crepes, and he mentioned the same things, very tasty! Also tried their detox waters, reminded me of aqua frescas, made with real fruit juices and full of vitamins and minerals. They were refreshing and flavorful! Now be prepared to spend the big bucks here, the price was about $40 for my order, but I get it with the protein and vitamin mixes that they use, it can be costly. This is a women owned, family ran business. I really enjoyed meeting the owner. She is an incredible inspiring person. They have their own parking which I love. It's super convenient, right here in sparks. On the menu, they offer drinks and some food items. Like protein waffles and oatmeal for example. My favorite thing I usually get is the Lifted Tea. It's a cold drink that can come in different flavors. It kept me going through out my shift when I was working over nights at my last job. It had a high caffeine intake without the crash. I came in on a slow Tuesday morning and was greeted upon entry. There was only one person working and someone was in front of me but it wasn't communicated if he was taken care of yet. So there was a little awkwardness, but nothing major. When I got to order the staff member was super friendly and was able to make a good suggestion off the menu for what I was looking for. He made good conversation and was quick and happy about the process. The place is in a little bit of a rough neighborhood but the inside is a little sanctuary with lots of plants and on-brand decor and there's plenty of street parking out front and to the side of the business. I got the Jumanji lifted tea with extra energy added. It was a beautiful gradient color of blue and purple and tasted like a sour grape candy at first but settled into a nice subtle blueberry grape flavor after the powder had dissipated a bit more. Definitely a little tangy for early morning but super tart and a lot fresher than an energy drink. The base price for a tea is a little steep at $8, but the drinks are absolutely huge! Definitely a fresh and interesting source of a pick me up. This place is awesome. We have been coming for quite some time. When you walk in, it had a jungle forest feel and motif, with hanging stuffed monkeys and chimps and creeping vines. And their smoothies are so good. Not only do they use fresh fruit and juices, they also add protein if you choose to. And they do not use dairy in their smoothies. My favorite to order is the El Tucan which is a mango and pineapple smoothie and I have protein added. So good. Husband always order the power bowl. He orders the El Tucan made with strawberries, blue berries and coconut flakes. They also have protein Belgian waffles and crepes! All sorts of drinks like teas and shakes. Sometimes he substitutes one with granola and always add double protein. The owners are so nice and friendly. They take time to talk to their customers, even joked around with us.
