It's hard not to notice a business named Pretty Kitty. When I was in need of a waxing service I gave them a call and scheduled an appointment. The woman I scheduled my appointment with was friendly and made it easy to schedule my appointment. I didn't have a problem getting a same day appointment. I was informed that appointments are scheduled every 15 minutes and to call if I was running late. Finding Pretty Kitty was easy, they are on St. Rose near the 215. There was plenty of parking in front of the building. I was greeted right away, signed a waiver, was directed to a room, and given quick instructions. My esthetician, Whitney didn't delay in starting the service and completed my Brazilian waxing in about 10 minutes. Fortunately, she did a really great job even though she completed the service quickly. She was thorough and I haven't had any issues. Whitney was friendly and made me feel comfortable. Overall, I would recommend the Pretty Kitty. Not a big deal to me, but so others are aware they work on a tight schedule which is noted when making an appointment. The service does have a bit of a rushed feel. I would think this may not be the best place for a first timer since the service is so quick. I'd also give Pretty Kitty bonus points if they would offer online booking! read more

Kat was incredibly warm and welcoming, thorough, and had my kitty looking pretty for my trip to Cancun. I typically get waxed (the back strip - which you might think would hurt the worst... it really doesn't, EVERYTHING else does). I am a first time waxer! After being highly recommended , I decided to give the pretty kitty a try! I went in for full leg wax ( both legs ) and a Brazilian as I'm going on a 11 day trip to Jamaica and thought now would be the perfect time to try it. The decor and atmosphere of this business is very classy and calming ! All of the girls at the front desk were SO nice and sweet ! I was greeted by shawna ( not sure on spelling ) and even though I was 35 minutes early for my apt I was taken right back! A few things: - the room was set up and prepared already! I walked in and shawna instructed me on what to do and how to get ready for her! She asked if I needed to use the restroom before hand. Once she gave me instructions she left the room and allowed me to undress and lay on the table. She also let me know there were sanitary wipes etc if I wanted to " freshen up " before she came back in! - if you are like me and have that initial fear of omg I'm going to be naked in front of a random person and they are going to be all up in my goods, I promise you, once shawna returned, she got straight to work and all of that fear went right out the window! Especially after she got started waxing because the pain distracts that haha! - for both legs and a Brazilian, it took about a hour. And shawna was working fast, but also making sure to cover all areas! She talked to me throughout the entire process and had such a comical and bubbly personality that we spent most of the time laughing during the wax! She informed me of the more painful areas and how to breath through them, and encouraged me through out the entire process on how great I was doing! A few tips: -per shawna it is recommended that the hair growth be 4-6 weeks! If it is anything less , expect to have a few stubble hair! That is totally normal!!! Also, exfoliate every single day as much as you can before your apt! That will help make sure that there is no dead skin and ensure that allthe hair can be waxed ! As someone who deals with extremely sensitive skin, I'm hoping that waxing will be the answer to my skin prayers ! Overall 5 stars because the experience was amazing! And even though yes as a first timer it was extremely painful, if my hair doesn't grow back as fast and I see no skin sensitivity issues in the next couple of days, I will be returning back to see shawna every 4-6 weeks! Also! Take an ibuprofen before you come in to help with pain during and after! read more

You know the old TV show Cheers, where everybody knows your name? This place is the opposite, where nobody knows your name. And they don't really seem to care, nobody really even makes eye contact. Sure, they use soft wax, which is less painful, and they get you in and out quickly. I would say two stars for that. But an upscale place it is not. You go in and they've got paper towels on the doors because the door handles are hot, the shades are all crinkled and bent. You have to call during their hours for any scheduling, as they have no voice messaging service or online booking capabilities. Today I went into the room and the floor mat was all ripped around the edges, there was trash on the floor, the table when I climbed up was moving and unstable, and paint was peeling off the doors. Maybe it's clean (?), but it's certainly not kept up well. If I owned or worked at this place, I would be embarrassed. I really only go here if I'm in town and need a waxing, just because I hate being treated like a number, feeling rushed, and the fact that I'm paying $65 plus tip for a Brazilian, and they can't even maintain their space well or treat me like a human being. read more

The receptionist was so kind and welcoming. When my esthetician (I'm so sorry I can't remember her name!) took me back and explained the process I felt so comfortable. She was so sweet, very professional (much needed when you are spread eagle cloth-less) and very efficient. She told me when certain spots would be a little spicier and when they weren't too bad. From the time you come in the staff is very kind from check in to check out. I can say I never thought I'd say this but I look forward to my wax day. I'm leaving a review because I'm very unhappy with the management. While I was in last week it was crazy. There were only two people working plus the front desk person. They were over booked and people were coming in late for their appointments. One lady was very rude to the front desk and I found out while I was in there it was her first day by herself trying to run the front desk and clean up. She tried being very patient, but obviously hadn't had the training and experience to deal with the rush and rude clients. So to the lady that wrote the last review, I was there, you were rude and Addison was doing her best with what she had. So, management should train more and not under staff their business. read more

UPDATE: owner got back to my email so quickly! Was very apologetic and stated Addison just started last week. Thank you Tricia for addressing this issue. I appreciate the attention to this matter Would give 0 stars. Don't go here. Front desk (Addison) rather be in the back talking then helping check clients in. My appointment was at 5:45. Waited 5 mins for someone to come from the back to help check me in. Finally I had to call the number so Addison could come from the back to check me in. By 6:05 I ask her how much longer it will be. Not once did she say they were running behind or that the wait may be longer or offer any water. She said it will be 5 more minutes. I waited an additional 10 minutes before asking for a supervisor. She replied there were only two people here. At this point it is 30 mins past my appointment. She had no consideration for my time or even an apology for the wait. Then as I'm speaking to her she answers the phone mid conversation. Extremely rude and unprofessional. If you can apologize or atleast tell people the wait will be longer than expected, that's basic customer service. Service is horrible. I will be sure to tell everyone not to come here. My previous visit was good so I went back. My $65 brow, chin, and above lip this time was a complete disaster. I walked in the room and stated I liked the shape of my brows and just wanted a little clean up...a chin and above lip was on the menu too. My technician seemed as if she was trying to do the quickest job possible and rather than just clean up my brows just removed them so I had two little caterpillars by doing a wax strip placement that was intended for anyone else but me. The speed was incredible, rip, rip, rip...congrats you don't have eyebrows anymore. Too bad that didn't work for my chin and the 5 hairs still stood there after the go-go speed racer style slash and burn, which removes all hairs but the ones you wanted gone. Plus side it took 1 1/2 minutes. Minus side, maybe my eyebrows will grow back. read more
