If you own an English Springer Spaniel, you know how quickly their coat can get out of control, but the team here does a phenomenal job cleaning him up. He looks like a brand-new dog every time! One of the things I appreciate most is their attention to detail. The staff is super friendly and they always make a point to ask exactly what kind of cut I want. The best part? They actually listen and deliver exactly what I'm looking for. A few other reasons I highly recommend them: Fair Pricing: Unlike some grooming spots that charge an arm and a leg, their rates are very reasonable and fair for the high quality of work they provide. Convenience: There is plenty of parking, so drop-off and pick-up are never a hassle. Schedule: I usually drop him off around 9 AM and pick him up around 3 PM. I've been taking my pups to The Prancing Poodle for almost 5 years and I absolutely love them. They've always done an amazing job on all of my services. I've never had a single complaint. When my older dog, Lady passed away everyone was so kind; they really loved her and were sad too. I bring my two puppies in now, Gimli and Arlo. Gimli goes in every 2 weeks and alternates between a basic bath and a full haircut while Arlo is just a basic bath like Lady was. Gimli comes in looking like muppet and leaves looking like a dapper little man. Rylee does an incredible job with his mop each time. The staff love my pups, they love their jobs and it shows. I love this place. I bring my standard Poodle in for a full wash and cut. They are so patient and loving. I am not one to get any fancy cut with my poodle, as we do a lot of camping and outdoor activities, but I know the groomers are well-skilled. I bring my other little mutt in for nail clipping, and sometimes a grooming (he doesn't need it as often as my poodle). Overall, I love this place and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to bring their dog. Our older dog and younger little dog began going to prancing poodle last August or so. My older dog wasn't easy: blind and dementia and they were fine with him coming and he seemed well taken care of. Younger pup was used to being with my older dog. They placed them together in a kennel while waiting to be groomed. They listen to what you want. Won't shave your dog down if matted. If it takes extra time they might charge you which I would expect. Very organized with texts and such to remind you of your appointments. Takes about 4 hrs from drop off time. read more

My regular groomer that I love and has groomed my furbabies for over 10 years decided to have a baby. I needed to find a new groomer so I walked in Prancing Poodle since I was getting coffee next door and practically interviewed them. lol They didn't mind all my questions concerns and anxiety about leaving my dogs with people I don't know. I mainly dealt with the only guy that I noticed was there and he was very nice and patient. A young lady helped me today when I dropped my babies off and she was also kind and patient. The holding crates look safe and the place looks and smells clean from what I could tell (I've seen some way uncool crate stacking at a different groomer too). I didn't really know how to explain the cuts I wanted on my dogs, so I showed them a pic of how I usually get them groomed and they did it how I wanted. I plan on continuing to go here. read more

I've been coming to Prancing Poodle for a few years now and they always do a good job with taking care of my furry baby, but recently I have come to find out that if you don't schedule an appointment with them within 3 months, they will charge you an extra $25 for their services. According to their policy, which was not documented nor signed, there was no leniency and I just gave in as a loyal repeat customer. Really though? $25 for not coming back within their 3 month time frame?!? So, does that mean if I don't come back for a year they'll charge me an extra $100? A membership to Costco is only $60/year. If I would have known this, I would have dressed up and put on some makeup because I want to look nice when I get bent over. Also, if you decide to cancel an appointment more than 3 times, that's another $25 penalty. Sorry Prancing Poodle, but I'll be prancing my butt to John's Grooming or Petsmart. It's only hair, it'll grow back. Sadly, like my hair, I won't be coming back. read more

This place is an absolute disgrace to dog grooming I dropped my dog off for a 9:30am appointment and still didn't hear anything till 1pm so I gave them a call to see what was going on. Come to find out they were just starting on my dog after 3 and 1/2 hours of being in a damn cage. That is very ridiculous and unfair for my dog I could have brought him in much later. First I want to thank the staff at The Prancing Poodle for how wonderful they treated me and my dog. I originally called to schedule for a touch up service but they were booked for a while. The lady said she would call me when there is a cancellation. I still booked an appointment a few weeks out for a cut and then got a call that very evening for a cancellation the next morning!! I took my dog Max in and like most doodles, he is very shy and nervous. The stylist took the time to ask me what I wanted and if I had any concerns about Max. When I got his photo, it was EXACTLY what I wanted and talked about. I love their online/text system where I received a photo of Max, the service done, notes about his time there and a receipt. The first time they poorly cut my collie's coat. It looks like they specialize in the doodle variety based off their social media and are not well trained in scissor cuts. I brought up the poor cut before the second groom and just asked for certain areas to be cleaned up a better this time which was not well received and after The Second time I visited here they Left either a chemical burn or razor burn on his hind quarter that required a vet visit including steroids and antibiotics. Also just got an email that they will be charging extra fee to anyone that doesn't regularly groom their dog at their facility. I am new to the area and a new pet parent . I have been coming to this place for a few months now, usually I never provide feedback or inspiration for my pups cut. The last cut I gave a picture of her previous cut and asked if the groomer can do the same "bell bottom "'cut, without hesitation she said of course. Upon picking up my dog she looked nothing like the picture, the cut was terrible. Instead of complaining I left and didn't address the issue. Well I made an appointment for a bath weeks later and mentioned I didn't want the same groomer to cut my dog due to my dissatisfaction with the previous cut. After booking an appointment I received a very odd text saying since I was dissatisfied with the prior groomer it's best to find a new groomer ! Are you kidding me? How unprofessional. So because I'm not happy with a cut and asked an alternate person to do the cut my pup can't come jack? I called asking For clarification and was given excuses saying no other grommet is willing to take my dog and listed challenges that were never even brought to me in the past. If you have challenge with a dog wouldn't it be best to address it with the pup parent upon pick up? Why wait months later until I complain about a service discreetly ( as I didn't want to hurt the groomers feelings b/c she worked hard on it I'm sure) to tell me problems they have had. I was also given an excuse that I was upset when they kept my dog locked up for 6 hours and didn't even start her bath . Any pet parent would be upset their fur baby was locked up in a cage for 6 hours and she didn't need to be. Customers should be informed when you are running behind schedule in advance so that they can plan accordingly but if you say 4-5 hours for service that is what we plan for not 8-10. To not even start services for that extended period and lock a dog up is cruel in my opinion with no food or water. The groomer who was on the heavier side said she was moving slow because she was pregnant however I had no clue she was pregnant as it wasn't noticeable. I immediately empathize with her reasoning for moving slow due to her pregnancy. I just think overall the practices at this place is cruel, bias and simply outrageous. As another reviewer said the fees are outrageous, the turn around time is not good and the customer services sucks !!! I will be indeed prancing my poodle to another groomer who prides themselves on morals, customer service and better ethics !!! they always do a good job and do exactly as I ask , although a randomn toe nail often gets missed ... oops . but my dogs are never stressed and they look beautiful! i have cavaliers and there are some things you just don't do to cavaliers without asking . they ask and I believe the couple of groomers I use know cavaliers . ear trim no unless asked and how much length ., never cut the wick , never cut their truck feet unless asked and be specific . they def need peri trimming , especially boys and inner east trimmed . they don't do anal glands well either , so i've been using my vet but we like this place and are loyal customers . read more
